"Kya?" Zoya said stunned. It was the morning after the whole Tanveer incident and after breakfast, Dilshad and Rashid had told everyone about Gaffur breaking off Humaira's rishta with Haider. "Aap dono ne hume phele kyun nahi baataya?" Asad asked, upset. "Kaise baata the beta? Tum dono keh saath itna sabh horaha tha toh hum kya baata the," Dilshad said sadly. "Lekin Ammi, aapko hume bol na chahiye tha. Meri wajase main Haider aur Humi ka rishta kaise toot ne deh sakthi hoon," Zoya told everyone. Asad moved towards her and pulled her in a hug. "Hume kuch karna chahiye Asad, please kuch kariye," she requested. "Of course Zoya, chalo! Hum abhi chal keh tumare Ammi Abu se baat karte hai," Asad said. Zoya turned to Haider, "I am really sorry Haider. Humare beech joh bhi hua uski wajase tum dono koh bhi itni takleef huwi," she said. "Bhabhi please...aap maafi kyun maang rahi hai. Hum sabh Tanveer keh jhote jaal mein aagaye the. Aur waise bhi, I should be sorry. Maine gusse mein paata nahi Bhai koh kya kya bola tha," Haider said. "I am so sorry Bhai," he said, walking up to Asad. "Haider, main jaanta hoon keh tum Zoya koh apni behen maante ho aur issliye tumne joh bhi kaha usse takleef mein dekhar kaha," Asad said and both the brothers embraced each other. Everyone smiled. "Aabh chale?" Asad asked looking at Zoya. "Haider, tum bhi humare saath chalo," Zoya said and he nodded. Soon the trio left from there.
Asad, Zoya, and Haider rushed into the Siddiqui house to see Gaffur and Razia in the living room sipping their morning tea. "Tum sabh yaha?" Gaffur said surprised. "Mujhe aapse baat karni hai," Zoya stated. "Baito beta," Gaffur said. He was really confused that Zoya had come with Asad and Haider to their house, that too so early in the morning. Zoya flinched away when his hand was about to touch her shoulder. "Aap Humaira koh bhi neeche bhula lijiye, accha hoga," Asad stated. "Aree baat toh batao. Tum dono keh beech meri beti kyun aaye," Razia asked. "Hum yaha Humaira aur Haider keh baare mein baat karne aaye," Zoya replied. "Kaisi baat?" Gaffur questioned confused. "Aapne Haider aur Humaira ka rishta kyun thoda?" Zoya said hurt. "Itna sabh hone keh baad, hum kaise humari beti koh uss ghar mein bhejde," Razia taunted. Asad, Zoya, and Haider were surprised that Humaira hadn't told them anything. Well, it made sense. She probably didn't want to tell them that she was still meeting Haider and was helping him with the plan against Tanveer. "Sabh theek hogaya aabh," Zoya said as she looked at Asad with a smile. "Kya? Kaise?" Razia asked stunned. "Tanveer jhoot bol rahi thi. Aur hum sabh ne saach ka paata karliya," Zoya told her. "Aise kaise hosaktha? Sabh toh itni mushkil se biga...mera matlab hai accha hai keh sabh theek hogaya," Razia realized what she was saying and changed her sentence mid-way. Asad just stared at her while Zoya ignored what she said. "Yeh toh bahut acchi baat hai," Gaffur said happily. "Aap mere saath joh hua uski saaza Haider aur Humi koh kyun deh rahe hai? Yeh galat hai," Zoya said. "Lekin beta, joh bhi uske baad hum kaise humari dusri beti ka rishta bhi ussi ghar mein karte," Gaffur explained helplessly. "Haider, tum jaakar Humaira koh lekar aao," Zoya ordered. Haider nodded and headed upstairs. "Main jaanti hoon keh mere kehne se shayad aapko kuch farak nahi padtha lekin please Haider aur Humaira alag mat kijiye. Woh ek dusre se bahut pyaar karte hai, aur Humi koh Haider aur humare ghar walon se accha kohi nahi milega," Zoya pleaded to her father. If it was for her, then she would have never stepped into this house. But, it was about her sister. And for Humaira, she could do anything. Before Gaffur could say anything, Humaira ran down the stairs and hugged her sister. "Bhaji, thank you so much," Humaira said happily. Haider had told her that Asad and Zoya had talked to her parents and were trying to solve everything. Zoya caressed her back, "Tum mujhe kabh se thank you bol ne lagi?" she scolded. "Sorry Bhaji," Humi said holding her ears. Zoya smiled. "Dekho Humi...hum dono behene hai, humari zindagi jitni bhi jhudi hai lekin thodi se alag bhi. Khabhi bhi kisiki wajase apne pyaar koh apne se door mat karna. Yeh mujhse behatar kyon jaanta hai keh apne pyaar se door rehana kitni takleef dehta hai," she said sadly. Asad moved closer to her and wrapped his arm around her. "Meri ek baat yaad rakna Humi...khabhi dusre keh problems ki wajase apna rishta karaab mat karna," Zoya advised. Humaira walked up to her father. "Abu...main aapke ha keh bina khabhi aage nahi badongi. Please Abu, ha bol dijiye na. Aabh toh sabh theek hogaya hai," she told her father. Gaffur was looking at both his daughters. "Lekin aise kaise beta...," Razia said when Gaffur interrupted her, "Agar tumari khush issi mein hai toh theek hai beta," he agreed. Razia cursed her husband under her breath. She has worked so hard to break this rishta, bought that Tanveer here, and now everything was ruined. Humaira squealed with excitement and hugged Zoya. Gaffur smiled at his daughters.
The next afternoon, in the khan villa, the ladies were gathered in the living room chatting about the usual stuff. Najma had just returned from college. "Wow Ammi, aapne samose banaye hai," she exclaimed as she picked up one. "Haath dohke Najma," Dilshad scolded. Sorry Ammi," she pouted. She took a seat in between Nikhat and Zoya. "How are you Bhabhis?" she asked. "Sabh theek, tum kaisi ho?" Nikhat said. "All good. And how are the little ones?" Najma said. Zoya giggled. "Woh keha rahe hai keh phupi koh samose unke saath bhi share karna chahiye," Zoya teased as she saw Najma grab another samosa. Everyone chuckled. "Bhabhi," Najma pouted. "You asked Najma," Zoya said as they both giggled together. "Ok Bhabhi, hum yeh toh jaante hai keh Nikhat Bhabhi koh ek cute si pyaar beti hone wali hai. Par aapko kya chahiye, beta ya beti?" Najma asked curiously. Zoya thought about the question, "paata nahi," she guessed. She really hadn't thought about it much. "Kya Zoya, tume kya chahiye yeh bhi nahi paata. Kuch toh khwaish hogi na tumari," Nikhat said. "Hmmm...agar mujhe choose karna hai toh mujhe beti chahiye," Zoya said happily. Everyone smiled. "Kyun?" Najma asked. Zoya recalled Asad saying he wanted a daughter, who will be their princess. "Kyun ki Asad koh beti chahiye, haina?" Nikhat said seeing Zoya turn red. "Nahi, aisa nahi hai," Zoya replied as she tried hard not to blush. "Awww Bhabhi, Bhaijaan wants a daughter. So cute," Najma said. "Aap dono please meri thang keech na band karo," Zoya said covering her cheeks with her hands. "Tum teeno koh ek dusre ki thang keech ne mein bahut maaza aata hai, haina?" Dilshad said and the girls laughed. "Allah kare, tumari khwaish puri ho aur ma aur bacche theek ho," Dadi prayed. "Aur tume bhi," she added turning to Nikhat. "Ameen," they all said in unison. Just then, Asad and the men returned from office. Najma ran up to them, "Aalamalaikum Bhaijaan," she said looking at Asad. "Walaikumsalaam," he said. "Abhi abhi hume kabar mili hai keh aapko ek pyaari si, cute si beti chahiye. Paata karna hai keh yeh saach hai?" Najma said as put her hand out like she was holding a microphone. Asad looked at her then at his wife who was sitting on the couch, trying to hide behind Nikhat. "He is going to kill me Bhabhi," Zoya whispered as she hit behind Nikhat. "Zoya, tum itna dar kyun rahi ho?" Nikhat asked as she snickered. "Baatayiye na Bhaijaan," Najma prompted him. "Ha, mujhe beti chahiye woh bhi bilkul Zoya jaisi," Asad replied. Everyone was surprised that Asad has so explicitly spoken his feelings but happy at the same time. Zoya peeked out from behind Nikhat and looked at her husband. Did he just say that out loud? Or was she imagining that? He winked at her making her giggle.
That night, Zoya lay next to her husband who was sleeping peacefully. She couldn't sleep. She did have dinner but now, she felt her stomach grumble. She sat up and drank some water. "Itni raat koh mujhe bhook lagi hai, pagal horahi hoon main," Zoya scolded herself. She lay back down and tried to sleep but kept tossing and turning. Asad felt his wife constantly move next to him. He opened his eyes to see her sulk about something. "Kya hua?" he said caressing her cheek. Zoya looked up at his voice. "Maine aapko bhi uta diya, I am sorry," she said feeling guilty. "Zoya, tum theek toh hona?" Asad asked worried. That was it! She burst out into tears. Asad was shocked. What happened? Why was she crying? "Zoya, kya hua hai? Tum theek toh hona?" he asked. She hid herself on his chest and continued to sob. "Zoya, please say something," Asad pleaded. "mu...ook...hai," she mumbled. "kya?" Asad said, not able to understand her muffed voice. She moved back, "mujhe bhook lagi hai," she said. "Par tum roh kyun rahi ho?" he asked confused. "Paata nahi," she said as fresh tears formed in her eyes. "Zoya, please don't cry," he consoled wiping her tears. "Tume kya khana hai?" he asked. "Aap hasenge toh nahi?" she said. "What? nahi, bilkul nahi. Bolo," Asad encouraged. "Mujhe smoothie chahiye," Zoya spoke, carefully reading her husband's face. Asad felt his jaw drop. Did his wife who loved pizzas, chaat, and junk food just ask him for a smoothie, he thought. Suddenly, his face broke out into a smile and he started to laugh. "Asad, aapne kaha tha keh aap nahi hasenge," she said, punching his stomach. "Ok ok sorry," he said. "Tume saach mein smoothie chahiye?" Asad asked to confirm. Zoya nodded. "theek hai, main abhi banake laata hoon," he told her. Zoya moved back and Asad got off the bed. As she lay there, Zoya herself was confused as to why she was crying. Pregnancy hormones were driving her crazy, she thought. Sometime later, Asad returned with a glass of smoothie for his wife. Seeing him, she quickly sat up and took the glass from him. "Thanks," she said. Zoya took the glass and started gulping down the drink. Asad saw her drink and smiled. She looked like an adorable kid at the moment, he thought. Yes, the pregnancy and the changing hormones were making his wife a little crazy but they were making her more lovable too, he thought. She finished the smoothie and looked up at him. "Oops, I am sorry. maine aapse poocha tak nahi," she said feeling bad. "Kohi baat nahi, I am glad you are happy now," he said as he bent forward to wipe the corner of her lips. She smiled. He moved forward and tucked her in before coming to the other side and got into bed. Sliding his hands around her, he pulled her closer and they fell asleep in each other's arms.
The next evening, Nikhat and Zoya were knitting sweaters for their babies. Zoya was still learning. She had made a pair of socks and now was trying her hand at making a sweater. "Wow Bhabhi, that's so cute," Zoya said excitedly as she saw Nikhat finish hers. Nikhat smiled, "thanks Zoya," she said. "Aur mera dekhiye, yeh toh sweater jaisa bhi nahi lagraha hai," Zoya said as she held the woolen piece in her hands and examined it. Nikhat giggled. "Zoya, tum abhi seek rahi ho. Main bhi imran keh waqt bahut struggle karahi thi. Ammi ne mujhe acche se seekaya issliye aaj main yeh itni jaldi karahi hoon," Nikhat admitted. "Phir toh main world keh best teacher ki student se seek rahi hoon," Zoya teased and they both giggled. Suddenly, Nikhat placed her hand on her abdomen and gasped, "ahhh," she said. Zoya too stopped laughing and looked at Nikhat worried. "Bhabhi, aap theek toh hai? kya hua? Ammi toh bhulao? nahi, doctor koh phone karti hoon," Zoya blabbered as she reached for her phone. "Nahi nahi, main theek hoon," Nikhat said, holding her arm that was reaching for the phone. "Kya hua Bhabhi?" Zoya asked concerned. "Main bilkul theek hoon. You know what this is?" Nikhat asked excitedly. Zoya nodded her head as a no, slightly confused why Nikhat was happy about being in pain. "Feel this," Nikhat said as took Zoya's hand and placed it on her pregnant belly. Zoya felt a slight movement under her palm. She looked up at Nikhat who was almost in tears. "The baby is kicking?" Zoya asked unsure. "Yes! Tum jaanti ho Zoya? Yeh duniya ka sabh se meeta dard hai," Nikhat said happily. Zoya smiled. She looked at Nikhat who excitedly move her hand around trying to find the next spot where the baby would kick. It probably was a special moment for any mother and child. The first sign of communication with your child, though it was merely a kick. At that moment, Imran ran in. "Imran, yaha aao," Nikhat called him to her. He excitedly ran up and took a seat next to his mother. Nikhat took his small hand and placed it on her abdomen. Imran's face lit up, "aap keh andar kohi hai?" he asked curiously. "Aapko yaad hai maine aapko baataya tha keh aap baade Bhaiya banne wale ho?" Nikhat said and Imran nodded happily. "Toh aapki baby sister, kick karahi hai Ammi keh andar," Nikhat explained. "Really Ammi?" Imran said amazed at the new revelation that his baby was kicking his mother. "Ha beta," Nikhat replied. "Kya woh yaha aakar mujhe bhi kick karegi?" he asked innocently as the ladies chuckled at his question.
Later, Zoya returned to her room after making sure that Nikhat was comfortable in her bed. Sitting for long periods of time was starting to tire Zoya out. Her back was sore and she checked her feet to see that they were slightly swelled. She took a seat on the bed and looked at the sweater in her hand, well the partially finished woven wool product that was supposed to be a sweater, she thought. She placed the sweater on the bed and walked up to the mirror. She stood in front of her and caressed her belly. She moved her kurta up revealing her bulging belly, she was finally starting to show. She placed her hand on her abdomen. She wanted to feel her baby kick. She wanted to experience that feeling that Nikhat had just experienced. She smiled at the thoughts as she looked at herself in the mirror. There was a unique feeling about becoming a mother. Though, she has been having a tough time with her morning sickness. The joy she felt when she thought about having a life inside her, the symbol of their love, there was no bounds to her happiness. There has been blissful moments in her life but the joy she felt when she had found she was pregnant wasn't something she couldn't describe in words. It was a feeling of content, feeling complete in a weird sense. "Aabh intezaar nahi hota baby, I can't wait till you come. Tum humari choti si duniya ka issa banoge, aur I promise keh main aur tumare Abu hamesha tumara khayal rakenge. No matter what, we will always be there for you," she told her child. At that moment, the door opened and she saw her husband walk in through the mirror. She quickly put her kurta down and turned to him. Asad looked at her with questioning eyes. "Kuch nahi, bas aisi hi dekh rahi thi," she said. "Kya dekh rahi thi?" Asad asked. He had seen her caressing her belly. He knew that she was talking to the baby. "You know Asad, Bhabhi felt the baby kick today, it was so exciting. I can't wait till our baby kicks," Zoya said diverting the attention to Nikhat. Asad smiled as he placed his bag and coat on the couch. "Aur issliye tum humare baby se baat karahi thi?" he teased. Zoya looked at him surprised, "Aap koh kaise paata?" she blurted. But, the next moment cursed herself. Way to give it up Zoya, she mumbled. Asad chuckled at his wife. He walked up to her and pulled her closer. "Batao, tum bol rahi thi na humare baby se keh woh jaldi aajaye," He told her. Zoya blushed as she hid herself on his chest, and nodded. Asad smiled, "you know something? Tum phele se thodi pagal thi lekin pregnant hone keh baad tum thodi aur pagal hogayi ho. But bahut hi cute pagal," he told her. Zoya moved back and looked up at him, "Seriously Asad, main aapko pagal lagthi hoon?" she said getting angry at him. "But maine cute bhi toh kaha," he defended. She playfully pushed him away, "I am not talking to you," she said folding her arms across her chest. Asad moved forward and went on his knees. "Baby, aap apne Ammi se kahiye keh aapke Abu se naraaz na huwe. After all unke issi pagalpan peh toh aapke Abu fida hogaye hai," he said. She didn't look at him and still faked to be angry. "Aur Abu unse aur aapse beintehaa mohabaat karte hai," he said caressing her abdomen. A dimpled smile broke out on her lips. She placed her hand on top of his on her belly, "Aur Ammi bhi aapse aur aapke akdu Abu se bahut pyaar karti hai," she declared.
He smiled as he stood up and pulled her into a hug, placing a kiss on her hair. A few minutes later, Zoya broke apart, "Mr. Khan, abhi thodi dino mein main moti hojaungi aur mujhe kohi bhi kapde fit nahi honge," she said sulking. "Zoya, you sound like Najma now," Asad joked. "it's not funny," she said getting angry at him. Asad recalled reading in one of the expecting mother's books that women usually suffer from self-esteem and body image issues during pregnancy, especially the first time around. He moved forward and held her hand. "No matter tum kitni mooti hojao ya boodi bhi, tum mere liye hamesha duniya keh sabh se khoobsurat ladki hogi," he told her. She pouted, "But Mr. Khan main agar khadu jaise phul gayi toh," she asked innocently. "Toh main bhi khadu banjaunga phir hum mr. and mrs. Khan se mr. and mrs. Khadu banjayenge," he told her. She started to laugh hearing his words. "I like that, it sounds cute" she teased. She turned to see her in the mirror. She tried to pull at her kurta which was getting tighter around the belly. He could see how she tried to stretch the cloth to fit her. "Bas kuch dino mein yeh bhi tight hojayenge, I really need some maternity clothes," she complained. "How about hum kal shopping chale?" he offered. Her face lit up, "saach?" she asked. Asad nodded. Zoya jumped in excitement, "I love you Asad!" she declared in glee. Asad smiled listening to his words. Every time, he heard those words, his heart fluttered. He just prayed that she stayed in front of his eyes, always happy and smiling.
The next evening, Asad finished his work and returned home earlier to take his wife shopping as promised. As they drove to the mall, Zoya couldn't sit still with excitement. She has never been shopping with him since their wedding. The last time they went was for their engagement and wedding clothes with the whole family. Usually, Dilshad just had the store bought to the house, like literally if they needed anything. Today, she was overjoyed to say the least. Shopping and that too with Asad, she thought happily. Soon, Asad pulled into the mall's garage and parked the car. He came to the other side and helped her out. They walked into the mall, hand in hand, browsing through different stores. Zoya picked out a few anarkalis, some pants, and a couple tops. She also got some new foot wear as her swelling feet were hard to get into her usual shoes. Asad was carrying the bags when Zoya's fell on something, a particular store. "Asad lets go there," she said pointing in a certain direction. Asad followed her finger and his eyes landed on a "babies r us" store. "Zoya, tum nahi lagtha keh it's a little too soon for that," he said. "What? No way Asad. Bas chaar meine, doh hafte, aur paanch din hi toh reha gaye hai," she said happily. Asad shook his head but he smiled seeing her face radiate with joy. He knew how happy she was to have this baby come into their lives. He was happy too, but she obviously showed it better than he did. "I thought you weren't counting," he teased. Zoya blushed hearing that. "Chalo na please," she said as she dragged him in the direction of the store, without even giving him a chance to say anything. Zoya felt like she was in a baby wonderland. She couldn't decide on what to buy and what not to. After almost 2 hours, she had picked out a crib, huge pile of clothes, and some soft toys. Though, they didn't know their baby's gender, there were so many gender neutral options, Zoya couldn't help herself. Asad wanted to refuse saying they could get the things later but the delight that covered her face stopped him. She had her dimpled smile plastered to her face as she picked out every single thing in that store. After all they have been through, he would give his life to see her so cheerful. And this was just shopping. Soon, they had so much stuff in their cart that once they finished paying. The store clerk had arranged for someone to go with them to the car. Zoya felt a little embarrassed, "thanks...sorry I got a little carried away," she said. "That's ok Mam, I take it it's your first baby?" she asked. Zoya smiled and nodded. "You take care, best of luck," the lady said. Zoya thanked her and they left the store. They reached their car and Asad had Zoya get in and he put all the things away in the trunk with the help of the clerk.
As they were driving back, Zoya turned to Asad, "mujhe bhook lagi hai," she said. "kuch dher aur hum ghar pauch jayenge, I am sure dinner ready hoga," Asad told her. Zoya sulked, "how boring Asad! Can we get some Chinese please," she said. "No Zoya, it's not safe. Ek toh bahar ka khana aur Chinese food mein MSG and food additives hote hai which is not good for the baby," Asad informed. "Hum bina MSG keh bhi toh order kasakthe hai, please Asad I really want Chinese," Zoya pleaded. "Zoya, accha nahi hai. Tum ghar chalo tume joh chaho woh milega," Asad said making her angry. She huffed as she turned away and folded her arms on her chest. "Akdu!" he heard her mumble. Minutes later, he pulled in on the side of the road. He turned to see his wife but she was still angry. "I have something to pick up, main bas doh minute mein aaya," he told her but she didn't even respond. Asad sighed. She was a kid sometimes, well most of the times. Asad hated seeing her like this but he had no choice. She was so careless with her health; he had to be the responsible one out of the two. Asad got out and locked the door so she was safe inside. Zoya felt tears fill her eyes. She wanted to eat Chinese and couldn't even do that. Ever since the pregnancy, he had been treating her like a little kid. Everything was mandated...from what she ate, to where to went, and what she did. And now he was going to tell her what to eat too, she thought. She then touched the tears on her cheek and looked at the water droplets on her hand. "Par main roh kyun rahi hoon?" she thought. It wasn't the first time that Asad had done something like this, then what happened? He just cared too much, she told herself. Pregnancy was a funny time. Just a few moments ago, she had been so happy and now she was crying. She saw him walking back towards the car. Zoya quickly wiped her tears. She closed her eyes and sat back in the seat. Asad returned to see her slumped in the seat. "Zoya are you ok?" he asked worried. She nodded her head, though her eyes were still closed. "Sure?" he checked. "Main theek hoon, just tired," she told him with her eyes shut. Asad thought the shopping spree may have been tiring for her. The rest of the drive was silent. Reaching home, Asad helped Zoya out of the car again and they walked inside. Seeing Dilshad, Zoya lit up again. "Tum dono ki shopping kaise rahi?" she asked. "So much fun Ammi, aap jaanti hai maine bacche kehliye bhi bahut saari cheeze li hai," Zoya replied excitedly. Dilshad smiled. "I can't wait to show you," Zoya added. "Phele khana khalo phir dikhana," Asad suggested. "Tum jaake fresh hojao, main dinner lag wati hoon," Dilshad told Zoya. She nodded as she went up the stairs. "Aapne paaka diya?" Asad asked his mother. "Ha, sabh ready hai," Dilshad told him. "Thank you Ammi," Asad said. Dilshad just smiled and patted his cheek, "Main jaanti hoon keh tum Zoya koh khush karne kehliye kuch bhi karsakthi hoon, Mera Allah jaanta hai keh tum dono koh phir se ek saath dekhar mujhe kitna accha lagraha hai," Dilshad said as she thanked her lord above. Asad then told usman to transfer all the things from his car to their room.
Minutes later, everyone gathered around for dinner. Asad waited for his wife. He wanted her to come down and see what he had done. Minutes later, she joined everyone. She saw everyone seated except for Asad who was standing by the table. Zoya walked up to him with questioning eyes. As she walked up to the table, Asad pulled out the chair for her. She smiled as she took a seat. "Kya horaha hai?" she asked everyone. Dilshad opened the dishes in front of her and Zoya broke out in a huge grin. "Ammi, aapne mere favorite Chinese dishes banaya," Zoya said surprised. "Kya karti? Mere pyaar bete ka hokum joh tha," Dilshad said as she looked at a blushing Asad. Zoya looked at Asad. He has planned this all, she thought. "Tume restaurant jaana tha but main woh toh nahi karsaktha. But, yaha restaurant banakar deh saktha hoon. And mam aapka waiter aap kehliye ready hai," Asad said as he bow down in front of her. Zoya giggled. "Mujhe toh yakeen nahi horaha hai keh aapne yeh sabh mere liye kiya hai, Oh Asad you have no idea how much I love...," She almost blurted out. She stopped and looked at the semi shocked, partly embarrassed faces of the family members. She bit her lower lip, self-conscious. Asad had turned red with his wife words. "Ya Allah yeh ladki bhi na," he thought, shaking his head. "I love kya Bhabhi?" Najma said as she nudged Zoya with her elbow. "Mera matlab, I love Chinese food, yeah Chinese food," Zoya said, trying to salvage the situation. Everyone just chuckled. Dadi smiled. She felt guilty that she has taken so long to understand what Asad and Zoya shared. Anyone can see that they genuinely respected, care, and loved each other. Zoya not only loved Asad, but she could see that care and love she had for everyone in the house, including her who was nothing but rude to her since she had come into the family. She will spend the rest of her life asking for forgiveness from Allah that she had hurt such a beautiful soul, she thought. Asad served Zoya her favorite dishes and also poured her some water. "Anything else Mam?" he asked. "Yes, if you could please give me my husband back, I would like that," she told him. He smiled and nodded as he took a seat next to her. Asad watched Zoya eat with so much enthusiasm. Since the start of pregnancy, it has been a task to make her eat. With her morning sickness getting worse, Dilshad and Asad felt like it was a task to make Zoya eat. And with the whole Tanveer fiasco going on, she has lost weight with avoiding to eat much at all. He was starting to get worried about her. After they finished eating, everyone gathered in the family room to watch some TV. Dadi had retrieved to her room as she was tired. Dilshad and Rashid too had excused themselves. Nikhat and Farhan were on one couch and Asad and Zoya on the other. Haider and Najma chose to sit on the floor. Zoya sat next to Asad with her arm wrapped around his and her head resting on her shoulder. "Thanks Asad, aapne mere liye Chinese food ready kiya, it means a lot," she whispered. "Zoya, tume chahiye tha then how could I not get it for you," Asad told her. "Aur main hoon keh," she trailed off remembering how she was crying in the car over such a petty issue. "Kya hua?" he said. She nodded her head. "I love you," she whispered. "Love you too," he said as he quickly moved down and pecked her lips. Zoya was astonished at his sudden actions. She giggled. She loved him when he did the unexpected. "You know Asad, mujhe pakka paata hai keh aap humare bacche koh bigad ne wale hai," Zoya said. "Tum itni yakeen se kaise bol sakthi ho?" Asad asked. "Aap mujhe hi kitna bigad the hai so it's pretty obvious. Lagtha hai mujhe hi respnisbile banna padega," Zoya exaggerated. Asad chuckled, "tum? Responsible?" he said, acting shocked. "Very funny. Don't forget Mr. Khan, after all main ek teacher hoon," Zoya said. Soon, Asad noticed Zoya yawing multiple times. "Ok time for bed," he told her. "Nahi Asad, bas thodi movie hi toh hai, mujhe dekhna hai," Zoya whined. Asad stood up and pulled her up on her feet. "Agar tum chathi hoon keh main tumare liye theatre mein iss movie ki screening lagonga par aabh chalo. You look tired," he said. Zoya smiled, "saach?" she asked. "Only if you go to bed now," he said. "Fine," zoya agreed. They wished the rest of them good night and retired to their room.
