This boy has suffered so much and he still holds it back. He knows he needn't hold it within in front of her but he doesn't want to visit that part of his life again...no matter how happy he becomes. When they all discuss some dark part of their lives, it's a phase they talk about some moments, memories which they don't wanna go back to but Manik goes back to a lifetime of pain and misery. So true when we say that the pain he infact shows is nothing in comparison to how intense the battlefield is inside. For now he's found a reason to fall asleep at night because she's his reason he wants to wake up the next morning, but his alone times otherwise are in fact more dangerous for him than anyone else. Because it's been eating a part of him every year. The pain has been feeding on his soul hence the wounds are so deep, so vulnerable. That's why her presence...her calm protects him from his inner-pain.

He doesn't remember that conversation they had in Soha's farmhouse right? But I'm glad that she's never mentioned it to him to make those wounds bleed. She's never forced him to talk of his pain...she's just listened when he's wanted to listen and that's what stands out. The respect they give to each other for their space.
