Nawaz Sharif deported to Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was deported to Saudi Arabia on Monday, hours after his dramatic return to the country from a seven-year exile with the hope of posing a political challenge to President Pervez Musharraf.

After over five hours of high drama, Sharif, who arrived here from London on Monday morning to end his exile, has been deported to Jeddah once again where he spent six years from 2000, officials said.

On his arrival, a team of Saudi and Pakistan officials held prolonged negotiations with him, asking him to honour an agreement he signed with Saudi government to stay out of Pakistan for 10 years from 2000 following which he and his family were sent to Jeddah.

Sharif, 57, was arrested on corruption charges after being kept at the aircraft for nearly 90 minutes when only passengers were allowed to disembark.

He was soon whisked away to an undisclosed location in a helicopter and it was soon officially confirmed that he had been deported to Jeddah by a special plane.

Sharif, whose government was overthrown in a military coup led by General Pervez Musharraf in 1999, and was sent into exile one year later, had announced

Given the current situation, I would take Musharraf over Imran/Benazir/Nawaz Sharif. But again, it is upon the Pakistani public to decide who is the best for them(whenever, or if they get a democracy back 😉 )

From what I have seen and read, Musharraf is better than all the names listed in the option. He is not democratically elected but then we have seen what others have done to the country. I won't choose 'a new leader' option because anyone who becomes the President/Prime Minister will get criticized. The situation is very tricky with extremists trying to take over moderates. Striking a right balance for any leader is difficult.

None taken. 😃

What is your option from the above list? If you say someone new then who? In every country common man want someone new to lead them but when that someone becomes the leader then then same people brand him as inept and blame him for the country's bad state. This blame game is the safest option for everyone but no one really does anything.

I cant support Mr.Mushraf.......Cos Actually he is a military leader, not a political leader…he capture the position, after he done the unfair election, Now he supporting Bhutto cos he fear people will vote against him..... 😳

I think Pak need new direction n new leadership... 😊
