Anandi and Jagya
The story started with them.
They faced so many problems. some of them of their own making and some not.
When Jagya started working in his own clinic, becoming his own boss, not working under whims and fancies of others, I felt happy.
Whenever I see anandi siting in her own office, being her own boss, becoming a person in her own right instead of living in reflected glory, it makes me happy. Being a bahu is living a life with fetters. She could have become a working woman even when Shiv was alive, but CVs wanted her to suffer Sanchi, DB etc.
Everyone cant be lucky as Jagya and anandi. But its a different issue.
Both have developed a philosophical attitude which helps them to face difficult situations with equanimity.
Talking about Anandi from what has been so far she has always been doing what she thinks is right at times she may have been in the wrong. That's what she always wanted to do.The power or ability to do what she thinks is right for her life. That never depended on external agents like education, financial status family support polictical power of powerful position in the society.Opposition she faced when she was doing what she thought was right never mattered to her.
But there are somethings which are very dear to her - her family which consisted of Khazan and Bhago to begin with and later on got extended to include BH pariwar and then Shekhars later on.
Then came the most important person in her life Shiv for whom she left everything that defined her just to be part of his life. Not because he was her husband but because she loved him. She gave up her identity to be part of his life. Shiv wanted a woman with her own identity and who thought out of box and yet traditional. She gave up all that she achieved once she made him the focus of her life. She enjoyed making his life smoother ironing out the samll problems that cropped up in his family she loved taking care of his family for him.She did it all just to see a smile on his face.Because that was the best thing in her life for her.She did it all voluntarily.
Her husband was willing to lay the world at her feet if she just asked him in exchange for a small proportion of her time company and affection that she showered on the world. But she made him her world and he in turn gave her all the things that she asked for Bhaili (which is an essence of Anandi) Amol and her twins.
She did the same in her first marriage because she was conditioned to believe that a wife's world should revolve around her husband but her husband never realised the value of what she had given him
So Anandi did live life on her own terms but at times like getting married to Shiv or moving to BH after Shiv's death she put the wishes of her loved ones above her own desires simply because she loved those people and she thought they new what is good for her and trusted their judgement.
Now her children and her work are her life. Her work is her identity and she named her work after her husband and that is her love and dedication to keep his memories alive. She wanted to be a Bhaili to those women who were oppressed and Bhaili the institution was her identity back then.
But now her identity as well as her residence is SN where Shiv resides. She is doing what she loves doing - reaching out to women/girls who are feeling oppressed but she does it in the name of her husband now.
Anandi looks like a free bird in SN she did look like a free bird when she was in Bhaili and she looked like a free bird all chirpy and cheerful when she was in the company of Shiv it is because Bhaili SN and Shiv are the ones who make/made her feel that way.Strangely we feel the presence of Shiv with her the moment she stepped into SN.
Dadisa's love made her look like a bird in a golden cage and Shekhars restrictions made her look like a bird which has been tied up and had only limited mobility. The problem is not in her the problem is in the people whom she loved. Dadisa's love had her ending up in a cage and while Shiv's love liberates her even after he is gone.
I used to get irritated to see her bowing down to Shekhars and trying to please those two women Ira and Meenu who come no where near her in terms of abilities capabilities and achievements. But she tried to oblige them and their wishes out of her respect for family ties and not out of sense of helplessness. Sanchi and DB I don't think they affected her life in any way. They are just nuisance that she had to cope with. What ever they said or did made no impact on her life.
But now looking back I realise she was living life on her own terms doing what pleased her most at that time. She loved being Mrs Shivraj Shekhar not just because she was married to him but she loved being loved by him and she still loves being Mrs Shivraj Shekhar so much that the very essence of Anandi is now named after him. Not just her children but her work carry his name.

Well don't really care much about Jagya.Stopped caring about his story when it took off on a parallel when he moved to Mumbai and got married to Gauri. The only time I concern myself about his character and actions when his character comes in contact with Anandi or his acts affect Anandi somehow.
