Hi All!
Hope all are having good week end!
Sports.....
Indian Cricket Team did'nt perform well in the cricket in the previous match...😛!!! It did'nt bother me much...don't say 🤢😡
Does the love for the sport and the Indian team depict one's patriotism.?
Why can't a team just be viewed as just a sport..which is just a means of entertainment?
May be I like England team or May be I like Australian team in cricket! May be I like France team in Football....does my adoration to a team wrt sport make me non patriotic person...
If this is so...
People say..Sports help in building relations among countries....Do sports really build relations or Do they deteriorate the relations or does'nt create any impact....
What if I say Chak De Ireland..instead Chak De India......wrt to a sport ....does it make a traitor😭!!
Wishes,
Mythili

when we say Chak de India i dont think it is because we like the team but it is because we want them to win.... its not patriotic feeling its the feeling for love for our own people.....

however i like australian team.... i would always want india to beat australia 😳

No, it doesn't make you a traitor. For me, sports aren't about countries, it's solely about the game. I sport whoever plays the best. Don't watch much of cricket anymore, but in tennis I wouldn't ever support Sania Mirza, simply because I think she sucks! I am actually sick of people worshipping indian sportsmen! These people get so much hype for nothing and the results are that in the end they show no improvement! For example, Sania Mirza got so hyped up but she barely ever made any improvement in her game but she got to cash on all her fame! I think we need to learn how to criticize the players for their game, so they can learn how to make it better w/o thinking that they're the gods of the game!

lols thats the whole basis of sports competition among regions, states, country. One can like another team or love the sport more, but supporting the team where on hail from, is naturally enforced assumption. Depends on person to person, for me if anyone belongs to India supports Australia... really doesn't matter, but personally for me its always gonna be chuk dey India.

Myth, I won't judge you 😃 but for me if India participates in any sports then I support my country-India. Praising other teams is fine with me but sports in this case; is not played for pleasure or fun. It is actually pride for the country so if Indian team loses then it is loss for India.

So the countries which donot have good relations should not participate in that sports...atleast..they should not play with those teams😊....

I think that when a team is selected they (well idealistically at least) represent the best that that country or state has to offer. In that respect they represent that country and it's people. That is why when India crashed out of the World Cup the common Indian felt let down and lashed out at the cricketers. While there is nothing wrong in supporting other countries, is it really possible if there is an India-Australia match for an Indian to whole heartedly support Australia? Deep down somewhere won't we feel thrilled if our boys could beat them? Because ultimately that is what it boils down to - "us" vs "them". But it is ok to support other teams if our team is not playing though 😊 .
