Don't compare me to Deepika Padukone: Alia Bhatt

Alia says her ad for a beauty brand with Soni Razdan is nothing like DP and her mom's jewellery ad

First came an ad featuring Deepika Padukone and her mom Ujjala, shortly followed by an ad film featuring Alia Bhatt with her mom Soni Razdan. The only difference being that while it was the first time for Mrs Padukone, Soni, as an actress, has faced the camera several times for television as well as the big screen.

"It was so exciting to shoot for an ad with my mom. The director wanted us to be exactly how we are back at home. That's how we talk to each other in real life," smiles Alia. She admits that she has seen the ad featuring DP and her mom. "I have obviously watched Deepika's ad and I loved it. It's a beautiful ad." But she doesn't want people to compare Deepika's ad with her Garnier commercial. "It would be really unfair to compare both the ads. Deepika's is a very different ad " it's far more emotional and sensitive. Mine is a lot more playful and fun. These two belong to different spaces completely."

Not just the ads, Alia feels people should not even dare compare her with Deepika' because, "Deepika is much more mature than I am. Probably because I am much younger than her and I am still in that here-now-there-then space. So, for DP, there's much more sensitivity and emotional content in that ad space. Plus, our products are very different."

one of the reasons why i like alia is that she doesnt really indulge in creepy catfights or calls out on any actress, her contemporaries or her seniors..

maybe she is too dumb to even understand how to do that😆..but still Id prefer her to all the other actresses offscreen ATM..

keep everyone in good books or dont talk about them..simple..instead of having a go at each other

When Humpty Dumpty came out, she said don't compare me with Kareena. Now she says don't compare me with Deepika. Okay Aloo we get it, you are only comparable to Meryl Streep.

The headline is making it sound like another Bollywood cat fight. But in context she's not only making sense but is actually being very mature about it, no pun intended. And I don't think her use of the word mature was a reference to chronological age difference but rather she meant it as DP is more together and on top of things than her.
