Note: Really extremely sorry for the late and short update everyone! But I promise the next update will be faster and longer for sure since I have finished all my other stories and now I can completely concentrate on this FF and like usual not proofread😆

They were dropped off at their apartment by a driver sent by the company's manager. She still carried Ruhi in her arms while he carried all their bags dropping them at the door. She looked around to take the surroundings. Like he said the place was quiet and away from the city's hustle and in a quiet housing complex. She looked around to see if anyone was around and as she turned back she saw a family from the apartment across coming out.

"Raman! You're back!" she heard the lady call out to Raman.

Raman who was opening the door turned around to be pleasantly surprised as he saw the family.

"Vandita! Bala!" He ran over to them calling their names she assumed and gave them both a hug.

"Raman what a surprise to see you!" The man, Bala exclaimed.

"I'm sure you heard about our office, so emergency trip."

"We did, we're so sorry."

"It's all over now, but how are you two and where is my champ?!"

"Ruhi..." a small boy of probably 3-4 years old came out and pointed to Raman.

"Hey champ! Look at you, you're so tall now!" Raman kneeled in front of the boy opening his hand for a hi-5.

"Ruhi." He repeated after slapping his hand and Ishita brought Ruhi closer to him and the small boy walked back slowly almost scared of Ishita hiding behind his dad.

"Raman..." Bala looked at Raman who stood up next to Ishita now.

""I'm sorry I forgot to introduce Ishita. She is my wife, we just got married a few days back!"

"You remarried?!" Bala looked at him surprised.

"How? Why? I mean-" Vandita asked question after question.

"Vandita I needed someone to take care of Ruhi and Ishita was perfect for her."

"But Raman so suddenly?! What is going on?"

Ishita started to feel awkward and out of place as she figured out the couple was very good friends with Raman and his deceased wife, so maybe they didn't like her taking the place of his wife. Raman saw her feeling awkward and was annoyed with himself that he landed her in this situation and tried to get her out of it.

"Bala it's a long story, but now Ishita is my wife and you know how everything has been for me so don't ask me anything else, please!"

The couple turned quiet as they realized he was getting angry and they should let him because they knew he loved Shagun a lot and if he had decided to get married after her demise, he probably had a really good reason to do so.

"Sorry Raman and Ishita." The man spoke up again.

"Ishita right?" the lady asked her and Ishita nodded. She opened her arm for a hug and Ishita hugged her as Raman took Ruhi into his arms.

"Welcome to Mumbai!" Vandita exclaimed.

"Thank you!"

"I'm sorry for what just happened. I just couldn't wrap it around my head that this guy got married again."

"It's okay I guess you were close to...her, so you probably couldn't believe it." she looked at Raman too see if he was okay hearing talks about his first wife. She didn't want him to be upset again, so she diverted the topic.

"What's his name?" she asked looking at small boy again.

"Shravan!"

"Nice name Shravan! I'm Ishita!" she bent over and forwarded her hand like Raman had a few minutes ago. He looked at her curiously at her mehendi covered hands and then at his parents who nodded their head so he smile at Ishita and slapped her hand gently almost afraid of the henna on them.

"Now you three must be tired from the flight, you should get some rest and we should head out now." Bala told them. He offered to take their things inside, but Raman refused asking them to carry on with their plans. He handed Ruhi back to Ishita and they finally walked into their apartment.

He carried their bags into their room as she sat down on the couch. She looked around the apartment comparing it to the one in Delhi. It was much larger than the one she had seen. This one seemed more like a CEO'S house with the fancy sofas, huge curtains, large TV, shiny granite kitchen tops and a large dining table. Just with the furniture and size anyone would think it was a rich man's apartment, but it only seemed like Raman's home with the walls covered in family pictures of him, his mother and father, and a few of Ruhi here and there. The room wasn't covered with large decorations instead was kept simple and classy like his personality making it his home.

He came out to find her walking around checking out the place. He went to the kitchen where she was looking around and stood next to her.

"Umm, there is only packaged food here, but tomorrow we'll go out to the grocery store."

"So what will eat for right now and for dinner?"

"We'll have takeout for lunch and make something from this packages for dinner. Sorry you're coming here for the first time and I can't even give you proper food."

"It's all good! I don't mind anything to eat as long as it's food."

"Well I guess we're goof for now then!" he said as he got her and himself a glass of water. They both sat on separate couches as Ishita leaned back closing her eyes while Raman took off his coat throwing it on the couch before sitting down tired.

"I think it's such a bad idea to wear formals on a plane-" she started

"Don't ask me why, I don't have an answer." He replied.

"Ishita..."

"Hmm..."

"I'm sorry for whatever Bala and Vandita said." She opened her eyes to find him looking down at the floor. She hated seeing him like and wanted to tell him to stop apologizing for every little thing.

"Hey it's okay! Why are you feeling so bad?"

"Because I don't like having people judge our marriage, judge us...or judge you. I just don't like it! I hate seeing people stare at you, passing judgements without thinking about your feelings."

"Raman...they said sorry even though they weren't wrong in their place. Clearly they were close to her and I myself wouldn't like it my friend's place was taken by someone else so quickly. And just because we know the truth about our marriage it doesn't mean everyone else know as well."

"You really don't feel bad?!"

"Honestly I did in the beginning, but then I understood where they were coming from. They seem like nice people and I am sure they didn't mean to hurt me."

"And one more thing! Have you heard of something call a swear jar?"

"Yea...parents use it so their kids don't swear in the house. Like you swear, you put money in the jar."

"So now you don't swear, but apologize a lot so from now on whenever you say sorry or blame yourself for anything, you give me a 1,000 rupees."

"Seriously?"

"Do you realize how much money I will make off you?!"

"No way I say sorry that much!"

"You already have said it twice in the past 15 minutes, so by now I would have been 2,000 rupees richer."

"Oh my God you're crazy!"

"Am I? Now leave this and go get changed while I unpack our things. But then you haven't even showed me the house yet!"

"Right! Come on, let me show you around."

He showed her the 3 bedroom apartment and finally took her to their bedroom which was nothing like their room back in Delhi. This room had much bolder color combinations on the walls, the furniture was much fancier, the vanity was huge and everything from the bedding to the rugs on the floor were just bright and trendy. The whole room seemed to be decorated on a larger scale, as if the two rooms belonged to two different people. She walked into the room only noticing one similarity between their two rooms; there was a bathroom and balcony attached to the room.

He went to get changed while she unpacked. He came out changed into a tee and sweats claiming he would take a shower before going to be, and she took her turn to go to the bathroom. He went over to the kitchen and considering she would be tired from the flight since he was so bored himself, he tried to make lunch for them. He looked through the cupboards and started to follow the box's directions and tried to make something edible. When she came out after a shower, he sat on the couch giving Ruhi some water to drink as he watched the news on TV. As he saw her walk into the kitchen, he told her he had made lunch for them.

"There's pasta already in the serving dishes."

"You made lunch?!"

"I tasted your cooking, so I thought you should taste mine." He said getting up as she opened the lid to see decent looking pasta. She looked up at him as he waited for her to say something.

"So Packaged Pasta is your specialty?"

"I said I'm sor-"

"You're...what?" he understood what she was up to and was just teasing him.

"I think you should try my dish before commenting and you said you don't mind anything as long as it's food. And this looks like food!"

"What self-control Raman!"

They both laughed before they sat down to enjoy their lunch...
