I had watched small portions of Luck By Chance but last night I watched the film from start to finish and I can't believe the critics went cray over this film. It is beyond overrated.
This was Zoya's first directional film, keeping that in mind she did a great job and proved she is a promising director. But I just do not get why critics were going ga ga and trying to prove to everyone that is the best film or one of the best films ever made in indian cinema.
I really liked the theme, a few dialogues were good, but the story and screenplay was very disappointing and way too dragged. I wish the film focused on Farhan and Konkona's lives, but Zoya got too carried away with cameos of a-listers and those cameos ruined it for me.
Farhan is a horrible actor, he was so so cringeworthy in the role. It was a good character but he lacked the depth in acting and was not expressive at all. His dialogue delivery was so bad.
Konkona was the saving grace, what a talented actress, she is so natural without a doubt the best thing about the film is Konkona.
Also the Farhan-Isha part was way too dragged.
I think it is time for Zoya to move away from Farhan, having him in every single film no matter wether he suits the role or can give the performance required.
