Are they all vegetarians?
BH people, Shiv's folks all eat almost similar vegetarian foods.

What about Akhiraj and family?

They dont have problem to wield a knife and cut a person. And they are also shown as eating vegetarian food. even during celebrations.

They are singhs. In rajasthan singhs mean rajputs.

What about shekhars? They dont have singh at the end of their names.

Is it that only villagers keep singh at the end of their names? Or is it something more?

But these people are definitely not jains or marwaris.

I'm not generalzing but in most of the Indian T.V Serials, people are shown vegetarians to avoid showing non-veg food on-screen. It's not that non-veg food is considered bad or something but i think directors take pure vegetarian viewers into consideration too and so avoid showing people eating non-veg unless absolutely necessary like in some Punjabi or Muslim family. Till now i have seen non-veg in Na Aana Iss Desh Meri Laado where the Collector had eaten non-veg dish in Ammaji's house and that family was Jats from Haryana.
As for people in BV, i think all of them are Rajputs. Singhs and Shekhars definitely are because Shiv-Anandi's marriage was mentioned to be done with Rajasthani Marwari rituals. They must have be shown vegetarians to avoid showing non-veg food.

I think Singhs are all Rajputs but Shekhars are shown to have army background that they also must be from Rajput community
Marwari culture I think it originated from the region of Marwar

But I don't think all coming from Marwar are traders.

As for showing them consuming vegetarian food is done for the sake of convenience.

Anandi Shiv marriage was mix ...its nit all Rajput rituals or Marwadi rituals I read Purnendru Shekhar does nit belongs to Rajput caste ...
AnSh marriage some rituals shown which perform by community belong by Purnendru Shekhar...which community no idea
Many Rajput Marwadi Wedding have similar ritual ... That nose pulling and all
Majority Rajasthani Wedding happen at nights ...
