The actor Hiten Tejwani, who is a favorite and known as Karan Virani from Ekta Kapoor's creation, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, is all set to release his two films in upcoming months.
Hiten Tejwani talks to hookastar in an exclusive interview and shares his recent projects, upcoming movies, love life and lots more... excerpts from the interview.

What's happening these days..???
I am doing a show Ganga for &TV and have finished working for two films like Tere Aane se' and Thoda Lutf and Thoda Ishq'. So that's what I am doing. And there is one more film, Zainab, for which I will start shooting soonish. It is a film based on real life incidents.
Tell us something about these two films...
Tere aane se' is a film which I am doing with Purab Kohli, Rituparna Sengupta and Thoda Ishq Thoda Lutf' with actor Rajpal Yadav, Sanjay Mishra and Sushmita Mukherjee.' Thoda Ishq thoda Lutf', is a comedy film in which I play a role of a lucky guy from Delhi who is chilled out and worries about nothing. The total Delhi guy attitude and I am working first time with Rajpal Yadav in this film.
Experience working with Rajpal Yadav first time and Comedy as a Genre:
Working with the actor Rajpal Yadav was really great. He is an amazing comic actor and he knows his work really well, a brilliant actor I must say. And talking about comedy as a genre, it is not that easy to make people laugh. It is not just about making different weird faces, but much more than that. I also did lots of workshops and rehearsals to make it look funny.
Why Ganga...???
This role is a bit different than what I have been doing.. I am playing role of a Lawyer who doesn't talk what is not relevant. Getting out of comfort zone is always good and trying different roles is always better.
Similarities in the role as a lawyer and Hiten in person
There are not many similarities. One thing which is similar about the role and me is both of them believe in right of education for children and on the basic values children should have. Such as respecting parents, elders, educating them and living a humble life.
Scripts and you:
I am getting different kind of roles and scripts. And they all have really good and new concepts. But for me, casting is an important feature. The whole show depends on the kind of cast you have for a particular role.
Television Now and Then:
Well, there was a time when there was an era of Saas bahu shows, another phase was of shows related to crime and then the era reality shows. But now a days, things have changed. There are real concepts which people are accepting. For example, a show where a young girl is falling for an elder guy. This concept is getting accepted and it shows the audience is progressing with their thinking too.
Comment on looks having moustache in Ganga:
The team decided to give me a different look and I was also fine with a new look. And this moustache is really good as it gives authoritative approach with the kind of role I am playing. The team wanted me to look bit older but I would not look older than what I am. And Gauri's respond to this look was nice. She liked it with the kind of character I have.
Something about Kids:
They are doing great. I am able to spend some really good time these days as they have their vacations. They are at home so I meet them quite often and I stay busy with schedule of shooting here and there. But I take out time as I give ten days to television and twenty days to films.
Prioritize Luck, looks, hard work and talent. What comes first?
Well, hard work is really essential. If one wants to be a consistent part of the industry then hard work is must. As the competition walks in from different parts of the industry, one has to keep upgrading their skills and techniques in their respective work. With hard work and passion, dedication is also important to make one successful. After hard work comes Luck. Luck will go hand in hand with hard work. If you think positive about something, positive thing will happen to you. Talent is something important too but looks is something which is like an add on. You don't have to be good looking always if you are passionate about your work and know how to do it, it is enough. Looks are not priority.
You and Gauri, the best couple of the industry.
I am really lucky to have her. We love each other. And I feel blessed having her. God has been kind to me. And there is nothing like chemistry. Everyone has chemistry with someone or other and you meet that person. Chemistry never comes after meeting a person but it is already there in you.
