It so happened that after a long time, I ended up watching this video..and realized woaah it used to be a rage in college back then..

Song - Maahi ve
Singer - Faakhir
director - stunned to know - asim raza (behadd's director and he has directed loads of ad commercials and soon to be released Ho Mann Jahaan) btw I loveee how this one is shot! so cool and jazzy!

those days, YT wasnt around as much and MTV and other music channels and FM was our access to the songs from across the border..ofcourse sayonee was HUGE, ali zafar's jhoom and so as Jal and strings songs..but any other songs ul have heard from their bands which were memorable for either the songs or the visually appealing videos? please do share and discuss😳

PS - I totally miss the era when albums were cut and OSTs/ singles were chartbusters..and effort was put into the making of videos with innovative ideas and look - from both India and Pak..

Strings were actually a huge hit in India...their songs such as ' Sar kiye yeh pahar' , 'Dhani Chunariya' and ' Door se koi aaye' are still played on FM stations..I love their songs...Even Ali zafar's 'Sunn re Sajaniya' was a hit...Junoon band's song ' Garaj baras' was used in John Abraham starrer movie Paap...This all album era I totally miss it...it was an awesome era ...in India also so many good albums used to be made

Jal and Strings had become very popular. Infact this ws the time when there were a lot of Pak singers doing playback for Bollywood.
And I agree I miss that phase where albums came out. The videos were interesting too.

TV is a sorry state as of now. Just pathetic. MTV and Channel-V have become daily soap showing channels. and the new music channels are not less pathetic.

MTV INDIES is the only music channel which lives up to the MUSIC channel title. It strictly features individual albums by singers and not bolly songs. There are segments which show pak singers too.

And they also have a segment which feature songs from the phase ur referring to. The 90's early 2000's.

@Hiral- Yes 'yeh hai meri kahani ' was of Strings from Zinda and even 'Yeh aakhri alvida na ho' from Shootout at Lokhandwala...
Even Ali zafar's Jhoom was hit
Fuzon band's ' Mora saiyyan mose bolena' and 'Aankhon ke saagar ' were also played on radio stations...
Even Nusrat fateh Ali khan's 'Tere bin nahi lagda dil mera' ...awesome tracks
