Neha Marda refuses to play mother to Mohit, quits TV show
Neha Maheshwri,TNN | May 17, 2015, 12.00AM IST

Actress Neha Marda, currently seen as Urmi in Doli Armaanon Ki, has quit the show. She will shoot her last episode on June 7. Reason: The show is set to take a leap of 20 years and Mohit Malik, who plays her ex-husband Samrat, will play their onscreen son Shaurya as well. The actress feels that she won't look convincing as Mohit's mother.

Neha wanted to quit three months ago due to an erratic schedule. The actress confirms, "It was becoming hectic for me and I wasn't able to make time for my family and myself. Since I play the protagonist, I ended up shooting all 30 days a month. I was averse to the idea of playing mother to a kid over four years, but the producer convinced me to stay back when he grew up to become eight year old post the leap. However, with the show set to take a 20-year leap and Mohit playing Shaurya, I wasn't willing to continue. I can't play mother to a 28-year-old guy. We have parted ways amicably and I wish the show the best." Could they have not accommodated Neha and re-introduced her as a new character? "They could have, but I feel I have done my bit for the show," she replies.

LOL good, I completely support her. It would've looked ridiculous for her to play Mohit Malik's mother, especially after she played his wife. So weird. I don't see the need to take a leap. Ugh.

I would rather keep Neha in the show with a younger actor posing as her son and have Mohit leave the show. Show seems to revolve around Mohit/Samrat. Once she leaves this show is not worth watching.
The show revolves around Samrat;s drama instead of Urmi's journey. The actor playing Samrat would look too old to play a young man Shaurya.

I think she has taken the Good Decision as Samrat/shaurya will look old in front of Urmi. so she can't play his mother.

Once Neha/Urmi leaves, the story should wrap up. They should show Samrat's down fall and finish off the show. It should end with Urmi/Ishaan moving forward to a happy future with shaurya.
