Awesome updates...
I read last 3 updates in one go...Waiting to know what will happen next..Feeling bad that Ishra are still separated..But loved the cute Ishraru moments...They were fabulous...👏👏
Hey! Seems like I haven't updated this FF in a while. Anyways hope you all like this. Note: Not Proofread, please ignore spelling and grammar mistakes.
She followed him outside where he was entering his car and she hadn't missed seeing the tear that escaped the corner of his eyes how he had wiped it off and put on his sunglasses to hide his tears. Something was wrong, he seemed so happy when the phone call started and now he was crying. She could see him cry and without thinking, she ran over to his car and tapped on the window before he could start his car.
He rolled down the window and looked at her curiously.
"What happened?"
She reached into her purse and grabbed his handkerchief and handed it over to him. She knew he wouldn't admit to crying and would not let her know his problem.
"Are you okay? And I forgot to give this back yesterday."
"I am fine. And thank you for returning my things. If that is all, can I go?"
"Raman, what happened? I saw you cry."
"You have seen me cry many times Ish- Mrs. Khanna and I thought you didn't care about my fake tears and innocence."
She knew he would cover his sadness with his anger and now there was no point in pushing him further. So she decided to let him be, hoping someone else would be able to help him with whatever he was dealing with.
"I will leave you alone and will hope your problem is solved soon. Take care."
As she walked away slowly to talk to Mihir, he cried in his car.
"How do I tell you she wants my Ruhi? I haven't let Ruhi stay away from me ever. Now she wants Ruhi for 3 whole days! How can I just send her there? I am being selfish, but I can't be without Ruhi. It's impossible! But what else can I do? She is her mother and she has the right to meet her. But how will I send my baby away?"
He saw Mihir approaching him and wiped off his tears quickly and left the place knowing there was no point in discussing anything since they had no option but t0 send Ruhi to Shagun...
The Next Day
"Papa I don't want to go. I don't like staying with her." Ruhi complained as Shagun had come over to pick her up.
"Beta you don't like being with me at all?" Shagun asked with a heavy heart and felt so small after seeing her daughter not wanting to be with her.
"No, you don't feed me with your own hands like Papa and you don't read me a bedtime story or let me put my legs over you when I sleep. I don't like eating the food the nanny makes, I only eat food Papa makes or the one he orders for me because he knows what I like, and you don't. You buy me dolls, but not the ones I like, and you get me clothes, but they are not my size. I don't want to go with you!"
"Ruhi please come with me just for 3 days. And then you will stay with your Papa forever. And I promise I will do whatever you say, and take you wherever you want. You can eat whatever you like and I will read you a bedtime story. Please beta agree to come."
Ruhi looked her mother who was sad and almost pleading her to come. She looked her dad who was equally sad and didn't know what to do. She didn't want to leave her dad, but she also didn't want her mother to be upset since she hardly visited her. As much as she disliked her mother, it was different to have her around sometimes. So she said...
"I will go, only for 2 days and I want to talk to Papa every day. And the day after tomorrow is my friend's birthday party, so you will have to drop me off."
Raman kneeled down in front of her and smiled as his daughter was so understanding and tried to find a middle way to making them both happy.
"Ru, I will come and visit you every day! I promise! And Shagun will drop you off for sure."
"Of course I will. Now will you pack your things and come?"
"Okay, Papa come help me!"
He took Ruhi to her room and they both packed her things into a bag sadly. He didn't have the heart to see her sad and let her go with Shagun, but he had no choice left. So he quietly packed all the small things she might need without looking at her. She packed her toys and clothes without looking at him. As they finished and he zipped up her bag, she clutched his legs. He kneeled down and hugged her tightly.
"Papa I will miss you!" she said in between her sobs.
"I will miss you too!" he said as silently shed tears. He broke hug after crying as much as he wanted.
"Be a good girl and call me, okay?" She nodded and he wept off her tears.
"Now smile!"
He tickled her and she burst out giggling as Romi and Mihir walked into the room. They joined and played with Ruhi until Shagun walked in the room. Silence filled the room right away and everyone's mood dampened. Shagun realizing the awkwardness that was in the room just informed everyone she would waiting downstairs.
As Shagun waited downstairs, Ishita stepped out of the Iyer house to see Shagun standing the driveway. Her excitement knew no bounds! Shagun was also here. She would be able to clear everything with her as well. She ran over to Shagun who was taken back by seeing Ishita in front of her.
"Ishita! You're here?"
"Yea! I am here! I can't believe you are here, and I can't tell you how happy I am to see you here!"
"Happy? I thought you would be upset, to see Raman living close to you and me visiting him."
"Shagun I know the truth and I have come here to apologize for misunderstanding everything that day."
"Ishita...you know the truth?"
"I knew it 3 years back. I had come here then, but couldn't find the two of you. And when I have, I don't know if you two will forgive me. I know Raman won't."
"He will and I already have forgiven you way back."
"Seriously?"
"Yea, I mean okay you misunderstood, but I felt it was always more of my fault. I let Ashok into my house and unknowingly, helped him with his plans. I told him about me and Raman meeting up which he took the advantage of. So if I am the cause of the mess, why should you say sorry?"
"Shagun it's not like that! It wasn't your fault! It was mine! All mine that I didn't trust you two."
"It's over now anyways, so forget it! I have and you should too."
"But Raman hasn't and he hasn't forgiven me yet."
"He will very soon. I know him Ishita. These 6 years he has got through a lot, if it weren't for Ruhi I can't even imagine what he would have done with himself. But you know something Ishita, he still hasn't moved on, although he feels like he has and claims he has, he really hasn't. So seeing you suddenly brought back all those memories. But he will calm down soon and forgive."
"I hope he does."
"He will, don't worry!"
They saw Ruhi and Raman walk out of the house with Raman carrying Ruhi's bag while Ruhi carried her stuffed toy.
"Anyways we should catch up someday, right now I have to go."
Ishita was confused at what was happening. Ruhi was going somewhere with Shagun? Why? She didn't say anything at the moment as she saw Shagun walk to Ruhi and grab her hand.
"I am sorry Raman, but this is the first and last time I will take Ruhi, I promise."
"Shagun if you weren't shifting permanently to London, I would have never let Ruhi go. But I know it's the only 2 days you will spend with her in long time. So it's ok. Just make sure she eats properly and drop her off to school personally. And make sure she calls me before bed. "
She nodded and sat in the car with Ruhi and drove away as Raman waved to Ruhi sadly who kept on looking out the window.
Ishita was now extremely confused at the turn of events. So she asked Raman who was visibly upset as well as Ruhi...
"Raman why did you send Ruhi with Shagun like that? I mean she is a friend, but how can Ruhi stay alone?"
"Ishita, I told you last time not to talk to me about my personal matters." Raman told her off in a low but firm voice.
"But Raman, how can Shagun just take Ruhi? She has no right to-"
Already in an emotional state with Ruhi leaving, he didn't want to face Ishita and his past again so...
"Ruhi's mom has every right to be with her." He yelled out the truth to her leaving her shocked. She took a moment trying to comprehend what she had just heard as she looked at him. He tried to look away from her, but the still and shocked look on her face made him look at her in eyes. She could hardly say anything after hearing him and after a while she spoke up.
"Shagun...Shagun is her mother?"
"I know what you're thinking right now, but I will still say I didn't cheat on you. Ruhi came after we broke up and there was nothing between me and Shagun before that. Whether you believe me or not is up to you. And as far as sending her with Shagun is concerned, I have my reasons for it."
His eyes showed the same he had on his face 6 years back and she knew he was telling the truth. These were the same eyes that once begged her to listen to him and trust me, but she had chosen to look away. But today she had confidence in him and trusted him. She knew he would tell the truth right now since he didn't really care about her opinion and considering they had no relationship, he had no reason to hide things from her. She wiped off her tears and composed herself before she looked right into his eyes and said.
"I believe you Raman. And I should have back then as well."
The look on his face softened and he was left shocked and confused at her statement. She smiled at him and simply said...
"I have seen the love you have for Ruhi, I am sure you have thought it through before sending her even though I know you will be the one missing her the most. I trust you and your decisions Raman. And I know you didn't cheat on me, you're eyes never lie to me."
He faintly smiled at her as she had managed to understand all his thoughts and feelings. And today she trusted him; she had the same trust on him that's she lacked before and the same trust because of which the foundation of their relationship had crumbled down. But then his smiles disappeared as he realized what the point of this trust was when there was no relation anymore. So, he walked away without saying a word.
She knew he was sad because of Ruhi leaving and her words had confused him so she left him alone for the time being.
~~~~~~~~~~
He sat in his bed busy on his laptop trying to engross himself with work and not remember Ruhi. His phone rang and he rushed to pick it up hoping it was Ruhi, but it was from his office. After talking on the phone, he went into Ruhi's room and sat on her bed resting his head against the headboard. He looked over to his side to find her favourite teddy left behind. He picked it up and got up to call Ruhi, but saw a piece of paper underneath it. He picked it up and read it...
"Papa hug my tedy tigtly and don't miss me." Was written in childish writing.
He smiled though his tears and went into his room's balcony taking her teddy along with him. He sat out on the chair and just closed his eyes to relax. As he opened his eyes, he saw her sitting on her patio reading a book. She wore her glasses and her hair was tied up in a ponytail as she wore a black kurti. She was so lost in her book, she didn't realize he was staring at her across the street. As she reached over to grab her mug, she looked up for a moment to see him looking at her.
She smiled at him while he looked away. He secretly glanced at her only to be caught. With her eyes, she asked him what he was doing with a toy. He smiled and mouthed "Ruhi" to her. She asked him if he was okay and missing her. He nodded his head and she heard her Amma call her in. She mouthed a bye and good night to him as we went inside. He also went in a few minutes later, feeling better and went to bed with Ruhi's teddy by his side and a smile on his face.
