Sorry for the delay but every time I start to write the update many things crop up which I need to include

Shasha's introduction n a slight insight to her character was needed as she has a major and strong motive here.

Part 3

'The worst distance between two people is ... misunderstanding and miscommunication !!'

One struggling with frustration while other unable to voice out her feelings!

Attraction worsening the matters further

And the gossip around was the final nail in the coffin!

"Mujhe Maan se baat karni hogi ... woh aise kaise kar sakta hain Geet ke saath ."

"Aadi I'm surprised that u didn't see it coming ... I mean it was so obvious ... Maan ke saath kaam karna itna aasaan nahi ... specially Geet jaisi ladki ke liye ... jo underqualified hain aur upar se usne Maan ko irritate karne mein koi kasar nahi chodi."

"Tumhe kya laga Maan react nahi karega? ... Infact I think jo hua accha hi hua hain ... Maine toh Tasha se keh kar Maan ki secretary ke interview ke liye bhi arrangements karwa di hain ... Main khud personally ek ideal candidate select karungi."

"Shasha ... mujhe aisa kyun lag raha hain jaise ke tum chahti hi nahi ke Geet ... Maan ke saath kaam kare ... I mean to say that, you are kind of trying to keep Geet away from Maan ... isn't it?"

Aadi's statement did create the desired effect. Shasha paused in her way but very next moment she masked her face and then calmly spoke.

" Aadi Chale ... meeting ke liye late ho raha hain!"

Khurana Constructions was on one of the most important juncture for a major revamp!

Maan wanted to bring about major changes in functioning and execution of their projects. Incorporating new talents, doing away with a lot of old fashioned approach etc. Plus the danger of an unknown enemy looming over KC needed Maan to have all his trusted people around him and so Shasha was called back from London.

Maan had called for an early morning meeting at KC with only Aadi n Shasha as he wanted to discuss some important points with them. As usual Mr Punctual was here way before time, though nowadays it had more to do with his wild and erotic dreams which nearly kept him awake all night so his only distraction was work. Waiting for both his best friends arrival he couldn't help but think about the yesterdays events.

Aadi ... was truly a God sent savior for both Maan & Geet! ... His timely arrival had finally diffused the tension between them!

'He was a friend in need and a friend indeed!' Maan reminded himself.

Not sparing a single moment more in her vicinity in his most painful n vulnerable condition ... Maan rushed to his washroom cum dresser for a quick shower before he headed for his meeting.

This girl was trouble and he needed to keep her away from him at any cost before it creates some disastrous outcomes!

He needs to come up with something at the earliest so as to avoid further damage. Making a mental note to deal with this matter after his meeting both Aadi n Maan left. After his lunch meet, Maan was back to office and had immediately called Geet to talk to her. He had thought of a perfect idea to deal with this situation and what best than the excuse of her academics.

He very calmly spoke to Geet that it would be better for her future if she would rejoin her college and concentrate on her studies. She can focus on her career later. She was a bright student and ignoring her studies for this job would make her regret this decision in future.

"Geet agar tum mujhpe trust karti ho ... meri baat agar tumhare liye kuch bhi maayne rakhti hain toh tum phir se college join kar lo ... aur yeh kaam toh tum ... "

Before he could complete ... a call interrupted their conversation and Maan left abruptly as the clients had arrived.

Maan had been really busy the whole day and hadn't got a chance of meeting Geet after their incomplete conversation. A part of him was happy that in her absence he could concentrate on his work ... but still a part of him craved for just a glimpse of his beauty. By late evening he hurried back to office only to be informed that Geet had already left.

Somewhere the fact that she had left ... without meeting him ... he couldn't even get a chance to see her ... saddened him but as it was quite late and most of the staff had left so he didn't have much of a choice!

Now standing by his cabin window glancing at the road below which was seemingly quite empty at this early hour of the day ... he wondered what decision Geet must have taken on his advice for her to rejoin college. He smiled remembering that how meekly she had entered his cabin with a cup of coffee, with shivering hands she had placed the mug on the table. All the time she stood away from him with her head lowered and eyes fixed to the ground, her fingers nervously fidgeting with her dupatta.

Once in a while she would look up and glance at the mug and for the first time Maan was scared to sip the liquid ... but he didn't want to hurt her more so reluctantly he picked up the mug and ...

The coffee was perfect! ... Just the way he liked it! ... The hot beverage at once rejuvenated his tired senses!

A knock on the door brought him out of his reverie and he turned around to see Aadi and Shasha walk in. Not wasting much time they settled down for discussing the current issues. The peon served them coffee but something was amiss! ... Maan instantly realized that Geet had prepared that coffee yesterday ... She was fast learner he admitted to himself.

How he wished she would be here now and serve him his coffee ... he really needed it and ... her!

Unknowingly a smile settled on his face but Shasha and Aadi's voice jolted him out of his thoughts. Luckily both were amidst a discussion so non noticed that he was lost.

"Maan kya kar raha hain ... get a grip on yourself!" He smacked himself mentally.

They were back to business and managed to settle a lot of matters in a short period of time. Maan noticed that Aadi was quite irritated and was snapping at anything and everything which was very unlike him, also there was some kind of silent conversation going on between Shasha and Aadi all throughout their meeting. Maan had thought of talking to Aadi after the meeting but during their discussion on new recruitment Aadi just refused to be a part of the interview team.

That was enough to irk Maan and he burst out.

"Whats the matter with you Aadi ... why are behaving so weirdly?'

"I'm behaving weirdly ... yeah right"

"Saare decisions toh tum hi lete ho ... kise rakhna hain ... kise nikalna hain ... toh hamaari kya zaroorat hain! ... Tumhi sab handle kar lo."

"Geet ke ghar bhi tumhe jaana tha ... tumne Mohinder Uncle ko promise kiya ke tum Geet ko apne saath rakhoge ... phir ek hi din mein tumne usse job se nikal diya ... woh bhi sirf issiliye kyun ki Geet se galti ho gayi." Aadi bit out.

"Maine Geet ko nikala ... Kab?" Maan queried in disbelief.

"Maan tumne hi usse kal job se nikala ... don't you remember ... Poor girl! ... Maan U shouldn't have done that to her ... she was so hurt!" Shasha exclaimed.

"Wait a minute ... maine..." Maan tried to put forward his side but Aadi cut off his statement.

"Haan Maan tumne! ... Kya tumne Geet se yeh nahi kaha ke usse college rejoin karna chahiye aur studies complete hone ke baad job karna chahiye? ... Wow! ...what an innovative way to fire somebody! ... Tere mann ki bhi ho jaaye aur saamnewale ko bura bhi na lage ... hain na!"

"Agar tujhe Geet se problem ho rahi thi toh mujhe bol deta ... main usse apne saath rakh leta ... yeh tune theek nahi kiya." Aadi stated dejectedly.

"Just stop it guys! ... Maine Geet ko job se nahi nikala hain!" Maan burst out.

"Main sirf yeh chata tha ke apna college rejoin kare aur yeh job part time basis par kare ... Oh God! ... how can she be so dumb meri baat samajhne ke badle woh ..." Before he could continue something struck him and ...

"Oh **** !"

"Main Geet se baat kar raha tha aur client aa gaye and our conversation was interrupted ... so I guess Geet must have just misunderstood the whole thing"

" Oh God! ... This girl! ... I can't believe it .. she just left like that ... I mean whats wrong with her!"

"Maan what's wrong with u ... I told you the very first day that Geet hasn't discontinued her studies but has taken up a correspondence course ... obviously out of the blue! ... You bring up this topic again anybody will misunderstand ... Infact even I was confused over the whole fiasco."

"Dhyaan kaha hain tera? ... Pehle toh tune kabhi aisa nahi kiya. " Aadi coaxed him.

{Aadi ... my man! ... Only if you knew that ... that night Maan was so lost in Geet that he barely heard the information you were updating him with!}

Aadi's stern statement caught Maan off guard!

But he somehow managed to mask his ruffled state not wanting his friends to get a faintest hint of his current emotional turmoil! Thankfully Shasha intervened and Maan was saved from any further interrogation.

"Okay guys ... so the bottom of the story is that Maan hasn't fired Geet ... its just a misunderstanding and its not too late either ... so I guess we can still handle the situation."

"I'll go and meet Geet clear out the whole confusion and get her back ... Fine! ... Maan you don't worry I'll handle it all ... my way!"

Shasha assured Maan mumbling the last part to herself but Aadi raised his brow in question which was conveniently ignored by Shasha.

"Shasha whats with you ... kuch der pehle toh tum keh rahi thi ke Geet ko Maan ke saath kaam nahi karna chahiye aur ab achanak Maan se yeh keh rahi ho ke main sab sambhal loongi"

"Shasha ... Geet masoom hain usse target mat karna ... Just leave her alone!" Aadi held her arm and stated firmly.

"Aadi ... main Geet ke raaste mein nahi aayi hoon ... usne meri territory trespass ki hain ... toh ab tumhe accha lage ya nahi par ... ab Geet mere radar mein aa gayi hain ... so I really don't have a choice but to ..." She patted his arm lightly lossening his hold on hers.

"What the hell are you upto Shasha? ... Chal kya raha hain tumhare dimaag mein ... Whats cooking in your head?"

"I'm impressed Aadi! ... U're right there yet not there ... Mere dimaag mein kya chal rah hain yeh jaan na tumhare bas ki baat nahi aur Maan ko main jaan ne nahi doongi! ... So chillax! ... Infact bahot time se life itni boring aur monotonous ho gayi thi finally ... its really gonna be exciting!"

"Time to have some fun!" Shasha exclaimed.

"Not so soon Shasha ... kyun ki meri nazar har waqt tum par rahegi ... Main Geet ko hurt nahi hone doonga!" Aadi warned her before walking away.

" Aadi tum mujhpe chahe kitni bhi nazar rakh lo ... lekin iss baar tum mujhe rok nahi paoge ... karungi toh main wohi jo mujhe karna hain aur Geet banegi mera hathyaar! ... "

'Sorry Maan ... but everything is fair in Love, War and ...'

"Meri job chali gayi ... maine pehle hi din Maan sir ko itna pareshan kiya issiliye unhone mujhe ... sab log sahi keh rahe the ... I don't deserve this job nor to work with him!" Geet cried her out remembering last day's events.

Maan had abruptly left for his meeting with Aadi and a heart broken Geet was sharing her grief with Pinky when Tasha had barged in her cabin to rub salt on her wounds.

"Tch tch tch ... Geet yeh toh hona hi tha! ... Sabse pehle toh you don't deserve this job ... its only becos of your Dad that you are here! ... Maan sir has done a big favor on you but ... you ruined it all!"

"I mean tum DD ke cabin mein roses le gayi ... phir unke liye classy black coffee ke badle tumhari woh cheap masala chai le gayi ... aur woh garam chai tumne DD pe gira di!"

"... You know what you should be thankful that he didn't strangle you alive infact you are lucky that he didn't humiliate and kick you out but very tactfully showed you the door!"

"So bye Geet ... it was nice meeting you!" She bit out venomously.

Shasha who had just arrived to office moved towards the crowd that had gathered around a cabin and witnessed the whole exchange between the girls. She sternly ordered everybody to get back to their respective work and then very calmly told Geet to pack her stuffs and leave the office before Maan is back.

"Office mein sab ko pata chal gaya ... Shasha Mam ne bhi sabki baat suni aur mujhe ghar chale jaane ko keh diya ... Sab kuch khatam ho gaya! ... Ab main kabhi unse nahi mil paaungi!" Burying her head in her pillow she wept silently.

Today she had cited an excuse of not feeling well at home but she has to break the news of loosing her job to her family soon. She has messed up everything and has become the reason of their pain again!

She was all lost in her grief when her phone buzzed and that one call changed it all!

Geet was back in the office but thanks to Shasha's perfect planning ... speaking to Geet seemed like a far fetched thought Maan hadn't even got a chance to catch a glimpse of her! ... Every passing moment he was getting restless and angry!

Very unlikely of him but just to catch a sight of Geet ... Maan would come out of his cabin every now and there ... but the object of his interest was missing!

Finally Maan had to leave for a dinner meeting when he bumped into Shasha and loosing all his patience he queried sternly.

"Geet kahan hain?"

"Oh! Geet ... actually maine hi usse KC ke various departments ke tour par bheja hain ... U know so that she can get better idea about the working of our company etc... Infact maine bhi usse kaafi time se nahi dekha hain ... I must say Maan, she is a very hard working girl!"

"Hmmm " Maan hummed disinterestedly still looking around in hope to see her.

" Actually Maan I was thinking ke tumhe uske saath deal karne mein problem ho rahi hain ... and she doesn't have much experience also ... toh main usse apne saath rakh leti hoon ... usse acche se guide kar sakti hoon ... aur tumse door rahegi toh woh tumhe bother bhi nahi karegi ... what say?" She tactfully put forward her plan.

"What! ... Nooo ... " Maan blurted out loudly.

Quickly gaining back his composure he tried to appear calm and spoke out.

"I mean ... iski koi zaroorat nahhi hain I will manage ... Also that I have promised Mr Handa that Geet will work with me and I don't go back on my words so you don't need to worry ... Leave her to me!"

"Just call her here ... I need to speak to her right now!"

Shasha tried Geet's number but ...

"Maan I can't get through her ... pata nahi kahan hogi ... plus you are already getting late for your meeting ... So I guess ab tum usse kal hi mil paaoge ... I'm so sorry!" Shasha shrugged her shoulders in dismay and walked away.

Maan clenched his fists hard trying to control his rage and headed towards the elevator. He had just stepped inside the elevator when his sharp ears caught the sound of a faint tinkle and knowing exactly who the owner was he peeped out only to find Geet walking out of the adjacent elevator.

Geet was about to head towards the office when she felt a strong grip on her arm and before she knew she was pulled inside the elevator. She was about to scream when a rough hand on her lips silenced her.

"Chup bilkul chup!" Maan warned her.

Trapped between the wall and still in the strong grip of Maan ... Geet stood there immobile clueless of what just transpired in a few moments while Maan gawking at her intensely like confirming to himself that she was actually here in his arms ... close to him!

But a sudden jolt of the elevator stopping made Maan loose his ground and the slight distance between the two was finally closed! The constant flickering of lights was scaring Geet and she clung to him in fear! Geet had closed her eyes but Maan made the most of this situation staring at her beautiful face ... feeling her so near to him to his hearts fill!

He didn't want to bother wether it was right or wrong ... Yes he was behaving like a pervert but he didn't care! ... All that mattered to him at this moment was that it had been nearly one whole day ... he hadn't seen her and now having her so close to him gave him some unnamed ... unidentified happiness!

There was current failure but thankfully the emergency light was on which broke their trance.

Maan created some distance between them but still didn't free Geet of his hold just like that child who feared that if he let go his toy it will disappear! Geet gave him a timid smile and all his pent up rage poured out on her.

"Tumne KC ko tumhara garden samjh liya hain jahan jab tum chaho aa sakti ho ... jab tum chaho jaa sakti ho ... Aur mujhe tumhara watchman ya phir tumhara baby sitter samajh ke rakha hain ... jo tumhari aane -jaane ki details handle kare."

"Sir.." She murmured with tears in her eyes.

For the first time she was witnessing the rage of The Maan Singh Khurana!

"Don't you dare cry " He roared.

Geet immediately closed her eyes in fear but Maan grasped her arm tightly and sneered dangerously holding her really close to him.

Her face mere inches away from him.

"And look at me when I talk to you." She at once looked at him.

Maan felt himself drowning in those pools of innocence! ... But regained his composure

"Miss Geet Handa ... kisi ne tumhe sikhaya nahi hain ke ek employee ko office mein aa kar ... sabse pehle apne boss ko report karna chahiye ... aur jaane se pehle ... apne boss ki permission leni chahiye"

She nodded.

"Toh kya tumne kal jaane se pehle meri permission li? ... Haan ya Naa?"

"Nahi.." She whispered.

"Permission toh door ki baat hain tumne toh mujhe inform karna bhi zaroori nahi samjha!" He bit out sarcastically.

"Sir..."

"Not a word from you!"

"Kya maine tumhe kal kaha ke tum yeh job chod do?"

"... Kya maine tumse kahan ke ab tum yahan kaam nahi karogi? "

"... Kya maine tumse kaha ab KC mein tumhari koi zaroorat nahi hain?"

"Toh kis se pooch kar tum yahan se kal chali gayi?" He yelled so loudly scaring the wits out of her.

Maan tried to compose himself seeing her trembling with fear in his grip but he just couldn't ... It felt as if some force has taken over him and he just couldn't calm himself down.

"Aur aaj bhi subah se tum office mein ho lekin tumhe yeh important nahi laga ke tum mujhe mil kar apne kal ke behavior ke liye apologize karo ... Kyun?"

"Speak up now.." He burst out.

"Woh ... Shasha Mam..."

"Tumhara boss kaun hain? ... Main ya Shasha?"

"Aap.."

"Toh tum kis ke orders follow karogi?"

"Aap ke .."

"Aur aaj ke baad tum hamaare beech ki koi bhi baat kisi aur se nahi kahogi ... do u understand ... aur agar dobara mere office mein aisa koi bhi tamasha hua ... toh mujhse bura koi nahi hoga!"

"Don't try my patience Geet ... you wouldn't want to see the worst side of me ... so don't instigate me ever ... ever again!"

Gathering all her strength Geet gently placed her hand on his heart and spoke out.

"Sir ... Sorry!!"

Her sinless touch acted as a balm on his pained heart! Her mere touch calmed down all his pent up rage in an instant! He felt relaxed and unburdened of all his anxiety!

Just then the current was back Maan released her from his grip and pressed the button of the desired floor and asserted sternly.

"Geet kal se tum roz mujhe report karogi ... main jo kahunga wohi karogi aur har waqt mere aas paas hi rahogi ... I hope I'm clear!"

Geet nodded in affirmation and left as the door opened while Maan headed for his meeting.
