I LOVE it so far! And I am super excited to read! Loved the prologue! Two different people in the same boat with the same mindset!
Hey everyone! Have the first chapter of this FF all ready! Just a quick note; it hasn't been edited, so please ignore spelling & grammar mistakes. Hope you all enjoy it!
"Raman what are you doing? We are going to be late!" his mother yelled out as he walked down the stairs with Ruhi.
"Calm down Ma. I was on a video call. And I am pretty sure I am not going to like this girl either."
"You haven't even met her yet, so how can you say this? I told you this girl is well educated and is a very homely girl. And to top it off, she is extremely beautiful. "
"Ma, I want a mother for Ruhi. And trust me not many girls cannot take of Ruhi the way her real mother would have. I need to find the perfect mom, not a perfect wife. It doesn't matter to me if she is educated or not, or whether she can take of my needs, she just needs to be able to love my daughter."
His mother just shook her head at her son and sat in the car as Raman placed Ruhi into her car seat making sure she was buckled up properly.
"Raman I don't know why I have a feeling this girl is going to be the one."
He smiled when Ruhi cooed as she heard her grandmother's voice.
"Mom you are way too filmy, you say this every time. And now Ruhi is also joining in with you. Such drama queens you two are."
"It's nothing like that. Your daughter is smarter than you. She knows what I am saying is true. Just look at her excitement." his mother said as Ruhi waved her arms excitedly.
They shared a laugh as Ruhi cooed along with them.

"Akka please just wear this jewelry or Amma will scold me for no reason."
"Mihika it doesn't matter whether I wear all this or not because at the end of the day, I am not getting married."
"How can you say that? You haven't even met the man yet. Amma told me he is really rich and handsome. I wonder what he looks like, I can't even wait!"
"Then why don't you marry him? But seriously Mihika, there are not many men who will accept someone else's child, so I don't think this will work out."
"Akka just meet him & talk to him, maybe he will be the right guy unlike that disgusting Subbu."
At the mention of Subbu, tears brimmed her eyes and slid down her cheeks as she closed her eyes remembering every memory with Subbu and everything he had done to her. And now a part of him was in her and as much as she hated it, she couldn't do anything about it.
"Akka are you okay?" Mihika hugged from behind feeling horrible for bringing up Subbu in the conversation.
"Mihika I don't want to meet this man. I don't care how rich or what a wonderful husband he would make. I don't want to go through it again. I have been left alone once, I won't be able to handle it again." And with that she couldn't control her tears and started to cry.
"I have an idea Akka. I will tell Amma that you aren't feeling well and then you won't have to meet him. Okay? Now stop crying and relax. You shouldn't be crying right now."
Ishita agreed to her idea and Mihika walked out of the room to tell her mother to somehow stop this prospective groom from meeting her sister.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I can't marry you."
He looked up at her surprised as those words the words she said right after her mother left them alone in the room and closed the door behind her. He had come into their apartment to meet them and had been told she wasn't feeling well. He suggested leaving and hopefully meeting another time where she would feel better, but his mother had insisted and he was told to go talk to her and get to know her in her room. He walked into the small organized and very childish room to see a young woman sitting by the window ledge lost in herself. As her saw her standing unaware of his entry to the room, he was reminded of his mother's words on her beauty.
She was indeed beautiful. Her face was devoid of makeup, her long black silky hair was lightly fluttering in the breeze and her earrings were dangling and moving along with the wind, and her pink churidar brought out her fair complexion. However, her big round hazel eyes were staring out the window and it were slightly red as if she had been crying for a while. He wondered what was wrong with her and thought of mentioning it when he asked her about herself. But before he had the chance to talk to her or say anything to her, she had flat out refused to marry him.
He had seen many girls in this past month and none of them had said they weren't interested in him. Instead most of them tried to convince him that they were meant to be with him. He observed this girl in front of him and she was indeed different. She had made no attempt to impress him, no makeup, no fake behaviour, and no dressing up. Oh Raman how stupid are you? She is sick, so how could she dress up? He thought as he came to that conclusion. He didn't realize he had been staring at her for a while now which made her uncomfortable. She finally spoke up...
"I am sorry if I offended you Mr..."
Oh great she doesn't even know who I am. No wonder she wasn't trying like the other girls. He thought to himself. He extended his hand and introduced himself.
"Mr. Bhalla. Raman Kumar Bhalla."
She looked at him closely for the first time. She had seen this man and heard his name as well, but couldn't figure out where. She finally figured out where she had seen this face. There was a business magazine lying on her desk with his picture on the cover. He was one of the youngest and most successful CEO of India.
"Raman Kumar Bhalla? CEO of PSR International?"
"Yep that's me."
He wondered if she would change her decision now. He looked at her curiously and his gazed made her uncomfortable again. She squirmed in her spot worried she had offended such a powerful man, and his serious look just added to her fear.
"Look Mr. Bhalla, you're a successful and rich man. I am pretty sure you have many other prettier & better girls who are willing to marry you. I would be grateful if you could say no to this relationship. Please."
"So you don't want to marry me?"
"No. Not at all."
"Thank god. I don't want to get married to you either."
"Really?" She looked surprised, and then figured that he was a rich, young man who wanted to enjoy his bachelor life and he probably was forced to sit through this just like she was, but for different reasons.
"Yes really. I am really sorry, but I am pretty sure you will be a great wife to whoever you will marry, but I am just not the one."
"So will you refuse this alliance because my parents will be upset if I say no?"
"Of course I will. And if you don't mind can I ask you a question?"
"Sure."
"Are you being forced into this? I mean is everything all right? With you and your family?"
"Everything is fine, but I can't marry you. That's all you need to know, the rest is my personal matter."
"Okay then! Whatever!"
They both headed out of the room and Raman whispered to his mother that he didn't think this was going to work and Ishita told her mother she would talk to them once Raman and his family left and she headed back to her room. Knowing her son wouldn't change his decision, Mrs. Bhalla quickly wrapped up the conversation they were having and prepared to leave the place.
As they left the place, she walked onto the balcony and saw him getting into his car. He looked up at her and she waved to him while mouthing a thank you. He waved back mouthing bye and got into his car as she walked back inside. They both thought they were meeting for the first and last time today.
Little did they know that soon their paths will cross again and this time for forever...
