One week this Dumbo take one whole week to realize she is not living next door anymore.

One month passed... I will not blame Raman much Bcz as you mentioned before the starting of chap he is mature... Think rationally. I will give him that benefit of doubt.

In the last line Mihika asked/ declared for ONE YEAR TIME FOR MARRIAGE. Is it a cue that abhi separation period thoda or lamba chalega??????

Today I was waiting for my line of the update... It was for me, today... Selflessness wala whole monologue of Raman.

Chapter 12

Ajab Leher Hai Meri Padosi

[Kal Meera tadpi Kaanha ko...Sab laaj samaaj ganwaai re

Mihir was sitting in a caf with Raman waiting for his brand new girl-friend. They had just ended a long meeting and were bored and tired of it. Mihir had suggested that they should take a break and Raman had readily agreed. As they made their way to the caf, Mihir received a call from his gf who seemed to be spitting fire from the other end. Mihir seated himself on the opposite chair to Raman, who was now busy looking at the menu.

He sighed, as he made failed attempts to calm her down. He wondered how the two most important people of his life were so similar; she was so much like Raman.

"What?" he asked "No, I'm not at home actually... Right now?... buttt..." He looked at Raman who seemed to have understood his one sided conversation.

Raman smiled and signaled him to go ahead and invite her to that caf

"Ok" Mihir said "Note down the address"

"Bhai I don't think it's a nice idea to meet her now" Mihir said for the third time "You know she is totally pissed off about something" Mihir made a horror face "And she spits fire when she's angry"

Raman laughed "Come on, she can't be more dangerous than me. Don't worry. Anyways what's with the suspense? Tell me her name atleast"

"I want you to be surprised bhai" Mihir grinned

Surprise it was, more of a shock to be precise, when he saw Mihika running towards Mihir and hugging him. To his satisfaction, she was as surprised if not more, when she turned towards him.

"Surprise" Mihir said with a grin which soon faltered when he realized that the two people in front of him weren't paying any attention to him.

Watching Mihika standing there took his thoughts to that one person he was trying hard not to think about. He never knew how much he missed her until this moment. A strange yearning rose from the pit of his stomach, surprising him to the core. The sudden desire to feel her close to him took over his senses. It was as if, had she been the one standing there instead of Mihika, she would have been crushed into his arms by now. He closed his eyes at the thought.

Mihika came out of her shock as she saw him close his eyes. She could see the emotions play in his eyes. She would be lying if she said that she wasn't angry at him, but everytime she thought of hating him the obvious logic came up, there was nothing to hate him. There was nowhere a written rule that said that when a person doesn't reciprocate your feelings, he should be hated. Yes, until this moment she thought that her sister's love was one sided. But the moment he closed his eyes, she smiled, this man was as much a fool as her sister was, if not more. He was in love and she couldn't stop smiling. Her sour mood seemed to have suddenly brightened up.

She grinned and said "wow... What a pleasant surprise Mihir" not taking her eyes off a shocked Raman

Raman quickly recovered from his shock and gave her a warm smile. In the past few months, she had become like a sister to him "Hey Mihika"

Mihika sat down and looked at him "How are you?"

"I'm good" he said trying to look as cheerful as possible

"And Ruhi?"

"She is fine too. I guess she misses you"

"awww... I miss her too. But I guess she misses akka more than she misses me, akka also misses her so much and talks about her all day" she carefully looked at him and mentally patted herself when she saw the desired effect.

"If your akka misses her so much, she could have put up some effort to meet her" he said as casually as he could, he was himself shocked at the hint of longing and bitterness in his voice

"Oh yes, totally, the other day I heard them planning something over the phone and..."

"Oh my god" Mihir said irritated "Could you guys pay a tad bit of attention to the poor guy sitting beside you?" He turned to Mihika "... and Miku, I thought you were super angry about something, what happened now? a look at bhai and all your anger gone?"

Mihika grinned "I have found the solution to my problem Mihir"

"So, how's Ishita doing" Mihir asked

"She is fine" Mihika said, her eyes not leaving Raman for a second, all through their conversations she noticed how he would pay extra attention whenever Ishita was mentioned although he tried to look nonchalant "our parents are planning to get her married soon" yes she didn't miss the sudden fire in his eyes "You know after the subbu incident, akka hasn't recovered. My all cheerful akka hardly speaks. She has turned into a different person after that night" she emphasized on the last three words.

Mihir nodded "I understand"

"Did she agree" Raman asked suddenly, he cursed himself almost instantly

Mihika suppressed the grin that was threatening to come out "She doesn't have a reason or hope to say no anymore"

He looked at her and understood what she meant, Mihika didn't hide it either.

He suddenly got up "Excuse me, I'm sorry but I have to leave" and without waiting for a reply, he turned around and hurried out of the caf, leaving behind a confused Mihir and a grinning Mihika.

"What's wrong with bhai" Mihir wondered loud

"Love buddhu love" Mihika said ruffling his hair

It was another week and three days later that Mihika received the call that she was eagerly waiting for

"Oh thank god" she said as soon as she pressed the green button "I thought you would never call... sure the same cafe?... I'll see you there in 20 minutes, in case you suddenly change your mind" she grinned as she rushed to pick up her car keys.

She bumped into Ishita who held her back "Whom are you rushing to meet with such a grin"

"Your happiness" Mihika replied instantly

Ishita frowned "What?"

"Offho akka, your happiness as in your favorite choco Ice-cream, I'm going to bring that for you"

"Oh" Mihika sighed as she saw her sister looking distant, she was indeed meeting her happiness

"I... I... ahem... Woh... I mean..." Mihika rolled her eyes as she saw the ever confident man infront of her, shuttering like he was caught stealing.

He loosened his tie, as if he was chocking "I..."

"Offho, will you get over that I thing" She said faking sternness which seemed to frighten him more "Take a deep breath" she said "drink this water" he did as she said "Now shoot"

"I was... thinking over the week" he said

"10 days" she pointed out

"What?" he asked

"Not a week, 10 days, you took 10 days to call me up"

"Oh yes, a week and those three days to gather courage to call you up"

She smirked "When did 'The Raman Kumar Bhalla started' needing courage to call someone up?"

"I'm already nervous Mihika, will you stop hurling jabs at me"

"Ok ok" she leaned on the table "So do you love her?"

His head jerked up "If I believed in that word than maybe I would have" he saw her frown "If love is wanting to feel her around me all the time; if it is wanting to see her every moment; dealing with her crazy antics, feeling proud of her inner and outer beauty every moment, then yes" "I know she deserves a lot more than me, but I want to be selfish and keep her to myself" she looked in awe at him "If love is wanting to shed darkness and embracing the light, then yes I love her"

"awww... that was one of the best confessions ever, so I'll take that as a yes, you believe in the word or not is her problem, not mine"

He sighed in relief, Mihika's acceptance was important to him

"So jiju" mihika said "Lets come to the point now" he sat erect paying attention like an obedient student.

And that's when Mihika dropped the bomb

"You know the apartment next to our's is looking for a tenant these days? We are looking forward to a new padosi" she winked at him, his eyes widened in realization.
