Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan is a film which will deal with the story of human tragedy in Kashmir. The story is based on two families living in Kashmir who have been divided due to border dispute between India and Pakistan
Sources close to the film script on Tuesday said that it was based on human tragedies occurring due to the divided borders between two parts of Kashmir.
"The story is based on two families living in Kashmir who have been divided due to border dispute between India and Pakistan," said a source.
He said Salman Khan's character will portray the struggle of generous person for unknown and distressed family on the Pak administered Kashmir (PaK).
"His character tries hard to help the family of other part of Kashmir to get out of distress. In the journey he meets a girl-played by Kareena Kapoor and falls for her," the source said.
Director Kabir Khan has always touched upon politics as well as current affairs in each of his films.
Whether it was Kabul Express (militancy in Afghanistan), New York (racial profiling in post 9/11 America) or Ek Tha Tiger (secret agents from India and Pakistan), Kabir has tried to bring in entertainment while keeping himself clued to the headlines.
In fact, Phantom too is said to be quite close to the current affairs with a global angle to it.
Earlier, the director was miffed with the rumours doing the round about his upcoming film based on love jihad. Khan has rubbished the rumours saying that Bajrangi Bhaijaan does not revolve around the theme of love jihad.
However, Kabir Khan had said that Bajrangi Bhaijaan is different from his past films since it stars Salman Khan. "In fact, it is a commercial potboiler and unlike any of his politically driven films," he had said. The film also gives opportunity to Bollywood heart throb Salman Khan's to visit Kashmir for the first time. Though shooting was scheduled to start on Sunday, but the shooting schedule was dampened by rains. In the meanwhile the actor kept himself busy understanding the Kashmir issue and the issues of people. In tourist hotspot Pahalgam, 100 km south of Srinagar, Khan was bewitched by the mountain range Khan was seen busy posing with locals and enquiring about Kashmir problem. In fact, the shooting was delayed in the last too due to incessant rains.
"What do people want here? What are their issues? What is K-problem," a national daily quoted a local asked by superstar Khan.
