Episode 7: The Kaleidoscope

Ronnie, and the rest of them - they're always a treat to watch when together.. You feel a sense of familiarity while watching them crack jokes, drooling over their senior, discussing office politics, and tonight as they bonded over Ananya's guilt trip..

Again- a touch of reality! Isn't that how we all are, at our workplace, with friends and colleagues.. Nothing OTT and unnecessary melodrama there..

On to Ananya's daredevil act, I'm seriously running out of words to describe how I feel tonight. You go girl! That was some bravado..

Yet another feather in her cap.. A strong young woman who doesn't need a man to be her knight in shining armour.. She's quite capable of doing it herself. Thank you..

Perhaps, her self-confidence and independence also stems from the fact that she was forced to grow up too soon, after what happened to her father. She may come across as a lively, opinionated, passion-driven woman, but the cracks are there, hidden beneath.

Anyway.. So Kabir.. Mashallah! Now this is just what was needed to make tonight's episode the best so far.. Yep, I think it was..

Coz although there was no hard-hitting story to be covered, the characters' real faces were unmasked tonight.. And how!

Watching him interact with the kids on the street was such a delight to watch.

Somehow, Rajeev has this innate ability to make such scenes come across as Earthy and warm.. Be it Capt. Rajveer or Kabir, the essence is essentially the same.. ❤️

So.. We got to see another side to the reclusive, daring journo who comes across as a ruthless mastermind during the day, but is just as warm and tender when it comes to his personal self..

In my opinion, only 2 kinds of people are able to pull it off.. Either those who have an abundance of love and warmth in their lives, or those who lack it.. Seems like it is the second scenario in Kabir's life..

Somewhere along the journey to being an acclaimed journalist, he seems to have lost bits of him that make him human.. Perhaps not entirely lost, but it seems as though he consciously makes efforts to dissociate himself from the other version of himself..

What we have seen so far, is not the real him! And like a broken tape, I repeat again - Kabir Sharma is a man of mysteries, an enigma..

Soo.. Who is the Didi'? Could it be the reporter who fetches him meaty news and footages? If yes, it'll be interesting to watch an otherwise detached Kabir sharing a warm bond with someone he works with, and trusts..

If not, we're in deep deep trouble.. 😛 naaah.. #KaYa all the way.. 👍🏼

But, if this Didi' is actually a woman from his past, or the present and isn't his mother, sister or friend, tch tch.. Ananya has got some tough competition, by the looks of it..

Coz whoever she is, she does mean something to him.. The sadness that suddenly appeared in his eyes had a story of its own to tell..

The Hit-and-run case! Yet again, kudos to the Writers for highlighting issues that are rampant in our society..

This needs to stop.. And if not the real media, we have our reel reporters jumping in to the rescue..

Hahaha.. That was an unexpected surprise.. So Miss Kashyap no longer just makes news, but also stars in them.. 😆

It was really witty of Ronnie to have captured the video.. the makings of a fine journo.. 😛

Aha.. So Kabir Sir did notice the bracelets.. And to top it, a sneaky compliment to Miss Kashyap.. I am 90% confident now that he heard her self-proclamation of admiration and 'love' for him.. But like always, he chose not to react..

Instead, he has plans of putting her through a test.. Quite an interesting move there..

Although I doubt that he wants to test her skills.. She's already proved it twice.. And on both occasions, he walked away without appreciating her.. In fact, the teasing taunt about audio quality of the vid was such a natural route of escape, for Kabir.. 😆

He already appreciates her as a journalist.. But perhaps, he wants her to earn it now, both his appreciation, and her credibility..

Are those signs of a warm mentor-protege relationship, yet? Perhaps yes.. (Reminds me soo much of LRL, and Raj-Naina..) 🥺

Anyhow.. That's it for tonight.. Tomorrow seems really interesting coz the challenge might go on to be a defining moment in their professional, and personal relationship.. 😉

I don't doubt that Ananya will ace it.. But perhaps, she might learn a lesson or two from the guru himself.. 😛

Despite the stark contrast between Kabir and Ananya, as was shown to us so far, tonight was about exposing spots where their vulnerabilities truly lie..

Beneath the faade of indifference, and reclusiveness, Kabir is just as warm and kind as Ananya is.. It's only a matter of time before he blends the two contrasting personas..

Will Ananya prove to be a guiding force, remains to be seen..

As for Ananya, life forced her to grow up too soon by the looks of it.. She wants to restore her father's honour back, and also has dreams of her own to fulfil..

Will Kabir be the guiding light, and her knight in shining armour, is what we gotta wait and watch..

All in all, a beautifully narrated episode.. It only gets better with each day..

Again, the melodramatic queen in me hopes and wishes that none of their traits, or milestones in their journey are diluted or compromised upon, along the way..

Coz both, #Kaya and Rajeev-Kritika are truly phenomenal..
