"I shall bow down to you for you are the halo I posses. With you not by my side the only thing I get is regret for the battles that meant our conquest and now turning into thrash."
Let him touch you. Let him posses you. Let him owe you. Let him do all he wants to because till he is with you all you can see is triumph. He guides you, he challenges you, he supports you and assures you of his presence in the middle of no where.
That is what my parents always taught me about God, trying to instill the belief in me, bringing me out of my atheistic shell. Never were they successful in their attempts but in all this I learnt a very important thing about humans - they need assurance. Constantly.
God instill fear in you because you are afraid that if you commit mistake, he will go away leaving you behind in darkness.
God is like the constant human seeks.
Just like Manik seeks Nandini.
Manik Malhotra - the atheist, the non believer, believed in only one thing - stars. Stars that were miles and miles away shinning every single moment but visible only when his fears show up - dark. Whenever he feared dark, stars showed up assuring him of their presence. Assuring him that they are with him, protecting him, never leaving him alone. They became his constant. His home. His salvation. His light. His everything.
Until,
She came.
The feisty little girl, who believed in fighting darkness, like fireflies, instead of waiting for another source of light, to guide her. She came and shook his world, challenged him with her smile and light, silently alluring him, to herself.
Her light was brighter than his star. She reached where his stars couldn't and fought his fears. She became his light, his guide and accepted his fears with a smile. Telling him constantly that it's okay to have fears. Its okay, to be human.
She picked his battles and fought them and making him understand his responsibility and authority. Making him realize that responsibility alone will kill him if he doesn't take hold of his authority.
"Tum na, humesha mere saath rehna. Humesha. And I will, I will shine for you."
She promised him innocently to take care of all his fears and problems only if he stays with her forever. Just that innocent promise made him put her on the same pedestal like that of stars. She will shine for him, always, without a fail.
Momentarily he forgot that she promised to shine for him if he stays with her.
The knight of another kingdom came and attacked his kingdom, demanding him to be nice to him for he saved his life. Demanding him of his precious possession. And just like that he shrugged her away for the debt was too huge. For he didn't realize her value. For he was still unknown to what she brings him.
With her gone all he faced was loss. Even his victory left behind a bitter taste for it came at the cost of her agony. The authority he held on to left him the moment she went away, the responsibility that guided him, ditched him midway.
The ruler was no more ruling for his title was snatched from him.
She came back to shine, as she promised for she saw his demise and to protect him was only her right. She held on to him. She guided him. She showed him the correct way. She called out on his lack of sensibility. She told his of his faults. She made him realize what she brings to his life.
He groveled, he begged, for her apology was the only thing he yearned. He realized that she is the constant he always seeks in stars. He realized that she is the assurance he needed all his life. He realized that letting her go will be his ultimate defeat.
And he placed her on a pedestal, above of his stars.
A mere human defeated stars.
He forgot that stars are but celestial body who can ditch too when clouds make themselves known and she was a simple human and too err is human.
They slowed down to know each other.
They picked each other's battle. Understood each other better. Trusted each other further. Demanded rights on each other farther. Protected each other with verve.
And she became lyrics to his music. His being to cherish. His soul to protect. His life to defend.
But she was still a human, a girl who could get lost easily. She was still the girl who needed him to stay with her, hold her hand and guide her in the crowd.
They took him away and she was left all alone to fight his battles. She would have fought them just like every time, just like he expected her to, if only, the crowd had not misguided her.
One moment of dilemma and she fell down the pedestal he placed her on, badly. She killed a part within him because he didn't expect her to get lost easily. She shattered his trust because she couldn't find him in the darkest of crowd that he so fears.
He threw the light he so loves for he realized that darkness is what he deserves.
He hated light, he declared forgetting that after leaving the world of light he can't see in dark anymore. He tried to numb his pain by hurting her, being what he was before she came for he didn't realized that he is no more the monster she had hate for her care made him clutch on the human he is.
Each tear he made her shed scorched him like the burning pyre. Each sob that escaped her lips was the cacophony he hated. Hurting her, he hurt himself double. Staying away from her, he died bits by bits every second.
The crowd was again trying to misguide her, wishing for her to get lost in the cluster they formed. Before they could do anything he saw the darkness looming over her. He didn't like it for she was his to protect. He joined the crowd intending to misguide them all and divert them. He joined the crowd, darker than before.
And she found him there, in the darkest of the corner.
Wearing his masks to protect her, to safeguard her from every trouble. Silently telling her that letting her go is a feat he hadn't mastered.
The knight came back to attack him, slice him with his sword, wound him with his javelin.
She stood there, asking him to let it all out and stay assured for she will always be there. She held him and let him break in her arms. She gathered him, she cradled him, she fixed him so that he could breath. Gave him the reign of hope to cure his disease.
He trusted her, again. Believed all the words she said and realized how much he needs her in his life.
She is the air he breathes,
She is the only mirage he wants to reach.
She is the wonder he wants to touch,
She is the melody he wants to hear.
And just like that, she became queen - to his heart.
But it wasn't over yet. The ruler didn't found his title back. Knight came again to replace him for ruler didn't have the title to withhold his position. Ruler, defeated, in debt, almost was ready to give up when she attacked.
She told him she is no object to give up on. She told him he made her hope of their togetherness and he has to be there for that. She told him if she is lyrics to his music then he is the strings to her instrument.
He fought back, he tried every possible way for knight to give up, to let go and leave his queen alone. The knight didn't wither from his resolve, stood strong to his decisions. His sword was right at his neck for the final defeat when she waltzed in and told him that the ruler gave up the title he so wants because of him. He put down the sword and took out his javelin. It was her heart that he pointed it.
No more could the ruler take it, for all the debts he owed to him, it was him who was to pay and not his queen. No one gets to put a scratch on her for she was to be preserved. He was out from the clutches of debt for he realized that she is the missing piece he needed.
She is the authority he hold,
She is the responsibility to which he bows.
She is the recognization he demands,
She is the reasons to rule that he want.
And just like that he realized, she is the crown - to his king.
