See she is my rejection no.56 he said teasing her and looking at the photograph she thought fair enough it is for rajat to take his own sweet time and energy to choose a perfect bride for him! what kind of a life partner do u want? he asked to which she replied that she never thought about it because she never wants to get married but on his insisting she said that she never gave it a thought because what she thought was how could any guy ever want to marry a small town middle class girl who does not take time to dress up, is allergic to make up and finally does not know how to make round rotis! she walked away completing her sentence and he thought that being simple can never mean that anyone will underestimate themselves.😊

another bright sunny day it was when she walked down the staircase to go for work and looking at her watch she peeped inside the sareen house and there he was entertaining some girl and she understood that she was yet another alliance which he was gonna reject because the woman with that girl was her mother. he saw her walking away and then hit his head because now she will have to take the bus and handling all the cheap men on the bus was something that she really hated so he got up took his keys and rushed out of the house where she was already waiting, she sat behind him but seemed to be annoyed with such behavior of his but he very well knew that the best way to seek forgiveness from her is a big box of chocolates, she ignored him but at the same time tried to suppress her smile which he could see from the rearview mirror and he just thought that he knew her very well!!!😉

Standing by her office desk she just thought about him, how kind he has been with her, how much he has tried to help her and her family in every possible manner, for her he is actually one of a kind, a gem of a person. she had confessed to herself that she possessed feelings for him but never dared to tell him so because she really thought that she was middle class, she was ordinary looking, she was boring and thinking about all such things she thought she does not deserve him!😲

Scanning some of his files he thought of her to be a simple, innocent and family oriented girl and he liked all her such qualities. he helped her getting an internship in the air force headquarters because he wanted to help her when her father was facing som financial crisis. she surely took it as a favour but for him she was special, his best friend because he could speak his heart out in front of her, because she was different from all other girls he had come across and she was the only person he knew away from family because he was hardly able to keep in touch with his friends after coming back to Delhi!😃

They are the best of friends since the last 6 months from the day when he helped her not with finances but with getting a job. he held her self respect in high regard and so he earned a lot of respect in her eyes. they both shared a great level of understanding and so a great bond. even though he was a hardcore non-vegetarian , he loved the way she cooked veggies! she was very happy that she has someone to share her feelings and she knew that he knew all her mood swings well. the loved to sit together for a nice hot cup of ginger tea and chit chat. she always understood him, guided him and even counseled him and all his awkward but funny gestures were a stress buster for her.😎

while watering the plants she again saw him joining hands in front of his mother of how he does not want to get married to any girl she will bring for him that he will find a life partner himself and she again thought that how much she felt for him but the very next thought was that of how and why would he like a girl like her and even if he did he could have surely let her know for him she was just his best friend and she was completely fine being so infact she was more than happy as she knew him not only as SQUADRON LEADER RAJAT SAREEN or the rajat over whom girls went gaga but also as sareen uncle's fauji, minty aunty's raja beta, neil's bhai and her best friend. and as time passed by their friendship grew stronger and then they even became partners in crime and goodwill.

she walked down the staircase wearing his favorite red anarkali and as always she looked beautiful as he went towards her he saw another guy coming and receiving her and then even complimenting her with his cheesy lines and he saw how she kept her eyes fixed on the floor and tried to blush and as he went with that guy his thoughts really made him feel uneasy about how she went with him, how she is gonna get married, he questioned himself about will that guy ever know that she thinks she looks fat in peach color but she does not, that she is allergic to mint, that she loves peanut butter, that whenever she has her share of extreme mood swings she must never be fought with but just letting her cry was the solution. he knew her very well and so all such thoughts kept coming and going from his mind...🤔

it had been a week that they did not talk properly, their meeting and greeting was a mere formality now. she was busy with all her engagement prep and he saw her to-be groom everyday when he came to meet her. he was very happy that she is getting a life partner but somewhere amidst all this he was missing her best friend, the everyday bike rides, the evening tea time. he had so much of his feelings to share with her but he certainly thought that her priorities were changing which he did not like because he was always the first person in front of whom she cribbed, cried, vented out all her frustration and did all the madness which only he knew!😔
