TMKOC is a serial which comes on national serial. I assume that Cvs are not that stupid to concentrate on one state only. They always advertised it as a society where people from different parts of India reside. But in recent times they have really moved away from that concept. and should I say there is overdose of Gujarati.

If you see carefully, Mr and Mrs Bhide are both marathi so obviosly they will speak in that language with each other. Sodhi and his wife are from two different cultures, so they have Hindi as common language. Even then many times you can hear Punjabi and Gujarati which Parsis speak. Iyer and Babita again different cultures. But I am guessing that since Cvs here hardly know Tamil or Bengali culture, they can not add anything for them. Their knowledge of that culture is limited to Idli and Lungi and Rasgullas and Durga Puja. Hathis are still enigma as to which state they belong to. Now I do accept that Mehtas don't speak Gujarati.

Regarding Jetha, he speaks marathi with Bhide only and that too in such tone that it should come out as funny. They have kept that because frankly these both actors have tremendous comic timing. But just because there is some Marathi spoken by two actors but clearly everything else is Gujarat jaap, I don't see how that will attract Marathi audience.

Secondly Daya and Jetha do not speak in Gujarati but this serial starts and ends with them and can you really deny the presence of Gujarati culture in all their scenes? Even in the recent track, I read that there was a Gujarati song.

I don't mean any offense to Gujaratis. We are all a part of one nation and every community has their strengths and weaknesses. Are they shown as dumb ? But Mehta is also Gujarati and he is wisest one in society. And as for Daya, she is the queen of GD. Everything she says is agreed by everyone ! Who is dumb here ?
