Eight

Randhir felt his heartrate increase as he saw the silhouette of a girl enter the room. She closed the door behind her and her fingers went to turn on the light, but Randhir ran up to her and covered her mouth with his hands from behind her.

It was Sanyukta - he knew the feel of those lips.

"Shhh," he said into her ear. "I'm going to let go, but you can't scream. Got it?"

She nodded and he let go of her. Sanyukta took a deep breath and turned around to face him.

"You?" she gasped and turned on the light.

Her hair was wet, like she had just come out of the shower, and she was in a bathrobe.

Damn... she was sexy.

No, he couldn't think like that. No way!

"Why do you have that?" she asked, her eyes wide, as she pointed to the black diary. "And why are you here?"

"I needed to talk to you," he told her confidently, as if all of this was normal. "I needed to know why people call you a s**t."

"Why does it matter to you?" she asked him suspiciously.

"It doesn't... but it's not exactly normal for virgins to be s**ts," he said to her.

"I don't think I need to answer any of your questions," she told him harshly. "Get out of here."

She grabbed the diary from his hands and placed it on her desk. The bathrobe showed a fair amount of cleavage, and Randhir just wanted to bury his face there and lick the trail of water leading to her chest.

He gulped and looked anywhere else - anywhere but at her.

"I... I think you're weird," he finally said to her. "Absolutely crazy."

"You're not the first one who thinks that," she responded, walking back to him. "Now, please leave."

Randhir looked down at her pink lips and then glanced back up in her eyes, deciding he would need to play a different game with her if he wanted to get any answers.

"Sanyukta... the real reason I came here, is because I needed to tell you something," he said, beginning to formulate his own lie.

"Tell me something?" she asked him, as if he was crazy. "Why can't you tell me at school?"

"I tried to look for you all day," he told her, "And I'm just going crazy."

He took a step towards her and she took a step back. He kept on walking towards her and she kept on walking backwards until her body hit the wall.

"Wha - What do you need to tell me?" she asked him, her eyes wide.

"I," he started, and he leaned towards her, his lips brushing over her earlobe softly, as he whispered the lie he concocted into her ear, "I haven't stopped thinking about you since that night."

He didn't know how much of his "lie" was actually a lie and how much of it was the truth, but to him, everything he was saying was a lie, a ploy to get answers from Sanyukta Agarwal.

He laced their hands together, their fingers intertwining.

"I think I'm in love with you," he whispered seductively in her ear, himself feeling himself get hotter with the close proximity of their bodies. "Madly in love with you. It feels like I have entered some kind of love asylum."

Nine

"Wh - what?" she spluttered. "Love?"

He caressed her jawline with his lips and he felt her shiver from under him. He wasn't sure whether she was shivering from his proximity or from the cold - her hair was still wet from her shower after all.

"Yes," he murmured, stopping at her chin. "Love."

He felt her shoulders relax for a bit before he removed his face from her chin, not sure why he needed to be so close to her. Did he really think seducing her would work? She had been a virgin until last week after all.

She looked at him suspiciously.

"You just met me," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. "How can you love me?"

He looked her dead in the eye and said softly, "I told you I've gone crazy."

She took a deep breath and nodded her head.

"Okay," she said, and smiled at him genuinely, it was her sweet smile.

"Okay?" he asked her softly. "I'm telling you I love you, and you're saying okay?"

"Yes..." she said quietly, "I said okay."

"Do you love me too?" he asked her, his voice calm and steady, although his heart was beating quickly.

What if she said no? Then what? Randhir mentally smacked himself. He wouldn't care. So what if she said no? It wasn't like he was seriously in love with her. He was just playing so he could get some answers.

"I... slept with you," she said in response.

No shit, he wanted to say, but he pressed his lips together and leaned towards her, his eyes glancing down at her luscious lips.

"I know," he said softly, "I'm... I'm... sorry for calling you all those horrible names."

Her lips curved upwards into a smile.

"I know," she told him in response, "Don't worry, it isn't your fault. It was what you had heard."

"But why?" he asked her, his voice filled with concern - he himself couldn't detect the falseness in it.

"Just... rumours," she answered.

"Why are there even these rumours?" he asked her, trying to get it out of her.

"Randhir... please, I don't want to talk about it," she told him. "I don't think you should be here. Tomorrow is a school day and you should leave."

"I know," he said. "But I want my answer first."

"What answer?" she asked him softly.

"Do you love me?" he asked her, his heart racing.

Her chest heaved upwards and she held onto his biceps with both of her hands, her fingers shaking. Then she leaned towards him and softly pressed her lips against his, catching him by surprise.

Randhir closed his eyes and responded to her kiss, just as softly, just as gently - unlike the last time he kissed her.

"What is going on inside you?" he asked against her lips, his voice barely above a whisper.

Ten

She pushed him back gently and shook her head.

"Randhir, please leave," she said softly.

The softness in her voice made him want to kiss those lips that spoke, he wanted to unite his tongue with hers.

"You haven't answered my question," Randhir told her adamantly.

"I have to think about it," she responded. "Now, please leave."

He raised his hand and softly touched her jaw. Leaning forward slightly, he allowed his lips to brush over her soft cheek before he kissed her lightly.

Sanyukta trembled against him and he took a step back.

"Fine," he said softly. "Think about it."

She nodded, still looking at him suspiciously. But he went to the window, giving a resigned sigh. This hadn't been useful. If anything, it had stuck him in a deeper rut than he previously was in.

Why was he such an idiot? Why would he tell Sanyukta Agarwal he loved her? He hated her.

Randhir climbed out of the window and once his feet hit the ground, he glanced up at the window and saw Sanyukta looking down at him through it. He waved at her, but she closed the curtains.

He frowned. What was she hiding? He couldn't even run off with the diary... but the way Sanyukta felt so protective over that diary, Randhir knew that the diary had to have the answers to every question he ever had regarding her. He knew that the diary would unveil the mystery surrounding Sanyukta Agarwal.

As he walked home, she hadn't left his mind once, and it angered him. He hated her more for this. He hated her so much. He just needed to find out why she was the way she was... then he could hate her in peace.
