You know Anu, I completely agree with you. I get scared to venture into the forum, because of the hatred against Ishita (Ishita is the most hated person on this forum, I must say. I have never seen such vitriol and venom spouted against a fictional character !) I thinks ours is the only thread, which both loves and chastises, the characters equally.
I agree with your assessment, that both of them love each other tremendously; and as you said, both of them cannot believe their luck that they have found another person who can actually see their value and worth to the other, and is willing to accept them with all their flaws.
Ishita, due to the fact that she has been rejected by not only her first love, the man with whom she was in a relationship for 12 long years, and then innumerable men, who met and rejected her over the years due to her infertility, is scared I think at the idea being loved by Raman. Even Prateek, the man who agreed to accept her with her infertility, decided to distance himself, as soon as they faced their first hurdle. Hence, she is clinging desperately to Ruhi. Why, because, all the relationships she currently has, are all tied to Ruhi. She is unwilling or unable to accept the fact, that Raman can love her for who she is, with her flaws and inability to bear a child. Hence though she says, Raman completes her, it means through Ruhi, he completes her. She gains her happiness from Raman through Ruhi's presence.
As for Raman, the woman he worshipped him, walked out on him. He was a young, very vulnerable, unworldly guy. Her walking out, hit him and hit him hard. That kind of stripped him of his vulnerability and turned him into a complete opposite of his character, which led to distancing him not only from his family but his own daughter. Then in walks this woman, who changes his life.
Both of them have fallen in love, but neither is willing to articulate it. Both waiting for the other to take the first step. Why ? because admitting and openly verbalizing this emotion, will make them vulnerable again. Each fears, if they articulate the emotion, then they are handing the other person the ultimate weapon to hurt them (both of them in their previous relationships had given their significant others their hearts, which had been stomped on without regard to their feelings).
Now they are at a crossroads, the mainstay of their relationship is completely out of the picture. Ishita is desperately clinging to Ruhi, why ? because she fears, if Ruhi is out of the equation, not only Raman but the entire Bhalla family will disown her, as after all, she is unable to given them the one thing that would tie her unequivocally to this family, a child.
Whereas, Raman is trying to pacify Ishita because he realizes if Ruhi is not in the equation, she may leave him. After all, she walked into their life because of Ruhi.
Yesterday, after some contemplation, I realized why Ishita was quite. She did not want to rock the boat with Raman. But she did voice her insecurity to her mother. Hence this fight that is supposed to take place as per the olv's is very very important for their relationship, where they are voicing out not only their feelings but their fears !
Sorry, this is just the rambling of a feverish mind ! Please excuse !
