After Raman left, Ishita took Amma inside and quietly started helping move everything into the new house. As all the movers finally left, Mihika blasted on Amma and Ishita.

"Amma and Akka, why did you need to speak to the disgusting man?! You know him very well. He will never admit to his mistakes and on top of that, he had the audacity to talk to Akka that rudely." Mihika complained visibly upset.

"Mihika. Don't call him disgusting! Be respectful! And I was the one who talked to him first, not him." Ishita replied back sternly.

"Akka, you want to respect the man whose actions put you in this loveless marriage? And why are you defending him."

"Why are you blaming him?! I chose to marry Ashok, no one forced me to. So don't ever blame Raman for my marriage. And I am not defending him, I am telling the truth."

"You know what Akka, do whatever you want, but I know that man will only hurt you. I don't even understand why you act like everything is your fault when it was clearly his."

"You two stop it now!" Amma finally spoke up. "Just forget whatever happened this morning. But you two just stay away from that family, please. I don't trust those people one bit. And Ishu I think it would be better if you go to Ashok's house.

"Amma! I told you I can't live alone and I am here in India to be with you and you want me to leave. I have also told you that I will go to Ashok's house once he comes to India."

The two sisters told their mother that they would stay away from the Bhallas, but Ishita and Mihika were already planning on how to meet Raman and Mihir respectively.

"Because of one Raman Bhalla, everyone gets punished including my Mihir. I don't care what happens, I will meet Mihir." Mihika mumbled to herself quiet enough so no one could hear.

"Sorry Amma, but I have to sort things out with Raman. I have to talk to him." Ishita said to herself quietly.

Ruhi's School

Meanwhile Raman reached Ruhi's school. He dropped Ruhi off inside and when he came back, he was visibly upset and Romi knew he was going to face the wrath of his brother.

"Why didn't you stop Ruhi from meeting her? I left her with you, so can't you take some responsibility?"

"Bhai, I didn't see her go to Ishita."

"Of course how would you see? You were probably busy flirting with her younger sister!"

"No I wasn't!"

"I am your brother, and I know you more about you than you know yourself. And I am telling you focus on your life, stop fooling around with girls. One day you will get into a lot of trouble and I am not going to be helping you. Also I am warning you, don't you dare flirt with girls in front of my daughter!"

"Bhai, chill! I didn't do anything and I just went to help the neighbors, not flirt. I didn't know they were those stupid Iyers otherwise-"

"Romi! Don't you dare call them stupid! If it weren't for them, who knows how I would have handled the two of you and my own life. So I don't want to hear anything against them."

"This is nice! The parents help you while their daughter breaks your heart!"

"Romi, just shut up!" He retorted back hitting his hand on the steering wheel causing an acute pain in his hand. He winced in pain as he held his hand. Romi noticed his bandaged hand. He felt guilty for not noticing beforehand and concerned overtook his anger.

"Bhai! What is all this?! What have you done to your hand?" "Nothing. It's a small cut."

"Should I drive? You will hurt you hand more." "No, I'm fine. I will drive."

The rest of the car ride was silent and the only words spoken were when Romi reached his college and told Raman to drive carefully and to take care of himself. As Raman drove away, Romi's anger returned, and this time he was mad at Mihika more than anyone else. He felt because of her, he was scolded by Raman.

"Just watch out Mihika Iyer, you shouldn't have messed with me." He muttered to himself before his friends came to him and the group of boys walked into college.

Raman's office

Raman walked into his cabin where Mihir was already waiting for him with some important paperwork. As he took a seat, Mihir asked worriedly...

"Is Ruhi okay?" "Yea, she's fine. Why are you asking all of a sudden?"

"Bhai Romi told me everything. Thank god Ishitaji was there, otherwise God knows what would have happened to our Ruhi."

"Ruhi?! Ishita?! What nonsense are you talking about?"

"I am talking about Ishitaji saving Ruhi from the car." "What car? What happened?"

Mihir explained to him everything that happened before he had come outside. Raman was appalled at the thought of what would have happened if Ishita wasn't there. She had saved his Ruhi and in return he had been so hard-hearted towards her. I should have figured out everything before reacting, he thought to himself regretting the small conversation they had. No matter what their relation was right now, she deserved a thank you and an apology.

In the Afternoon

Raman drove into his driveway as Ishita and Mihika drove into theirs. As he got out of his car, he briefly looked over to their house only to get an irritated stare from Mihika who quickly pulled the oblivious Ishita into their home. He shook his head at her behaviour and walked into his house.

He walked into his house and the first thing he did was go to Ruhi's room. He had been thinking about her all day. After Mihir had told him about this morning, he had been extremely upset with Romi for his carelessness and had been worried for Ruhi more than usual. He entered the room to find her coloring her drawing on the bed. He sat down next to her and she seemed pleasantly surprised to find her dad home earlier than usual. He gave him huge hug and kissed his cheek. He looked at her drawing of him and her together playing in the park.

"You want to go to the park?" he asked casually.

"YES!" she replied as she started jumped on her bed excitedly.

"But first you have to finish your homework." "It's all finished all of it. Romi Chachu helped me."

Romi helped with homework? No way had he wondered to himself. His mischievous daughter was up to something for sure.

"Um Ruhi, can I see the homework?" "No, Papa please let's go now."

"Ruhi, show me your work." "Papa, Chachu has it. You go get it from him."

Saying so, she ran outside yelling that she will be waiting for him. He smiled at her antics and went into his room to change. He walked out in a black t-shirt and grey sweatpants. Ruhi was sitting on the sofa all ready to go.

"Ru, right after we came back, you are going to sit with me and finish your homework. Okay?"

"Yes, sir." She said giggling "Go put on your shoes while I talk to Romi."

As Ruhi went to get his shoes, he walked into Romi's room to find him laying down on the couch busy on his phone. As he saw Raman walk into the room, he sat up straight and put his phone away like a kid who got caught stealing a cookie.

"Bhai! You're home this early?!" "Did I ruin your plans of avoiding me today?"

"No, nothing like that. Just asking."

"Mihir had told me everything including your carelessness. Right now, I am taking Ruhi to the park, but when I come back, I will deal with you."

He walked away while Romi planned to escape from Raman's wrath once he comes back.

Park

He walked with Ruhi to the park engrossed in thinking of a way to talk to Ishita. He couldn't just go her house, for her Amma and sister wouldn't let him go near her, forget talking to her. He couldn't call her or email her to meet up since he hadn't been in contact with her for so long that he didn't have her contact information anymore. In his head, he prayed to find a way to talk to her alone for just 2 minutes. It seemed as luck was on his side today as he spotted her while walking into the park.

She looked stunning in her sky blue churidar. Her dupatta was flying freely while her hair was being blown around carelessly by the light breeze. Her face was free from any makeup and she wasn't wearing any jewelry. After all her smile was the only adornment she needed. She was kneeling down on the ground, helping a small boy tie his shoelace. She had always been like this; always helped others without thinking about herself & could never see anyone's pain.. But...then how did she change so much back then? Why did she hurt him so much? He quickly brushed away his thoughts not wanting to think too much about the past since it was only going to hurt him. He turned his mind back to what he needed to do; talk to her.

He yelled out her name... "Mrs. Khanna! Mrs. Khanna"

She didn't turn around nor did she look at him. He convinced himself to call her by her first name and so after much hesitation, he yelled out to her...

"Ishita!"

She turned around the very second she heard him call out her name.

"Ishita" he said quietly to himself. After a long time, he had called her by her first name. He always loved the way her name sounded from his name. All her close family and friends called her Ishu, but he never liked the way it sounded coming from him.

Ishita also felt the same feelings as him. It seemed like forever since she had heard him call her Ishita. Ever since she had gotten married, he had called her Mrs. Khanna. The way he said her name with his resonant voice sounded like soothing music to her ears. It sounded like he was talking to someone close to him, not someone he was forced to meet and talk to. However it was just momentarily happiness since he went right back to talking formally when he caught her attention.

"Mrs. Khanna I have to say something. Please come."

He led her to a small bench under a huge old tree. The two sat on the bench that gave them the wonderful view of the whole park filled with children running around and adults running after them. They sat on the opposite ends of the bench, fiddling with their hands not knowing how to start a conversation. A few moments of silence passed as the two waited for the other person to say something. Finally Raman decided to break the quietude since he realized he was the one who asked to talk to her.

"Thank...Thank you and...Sorry." "Huh? For what?"

"Thank you so much for saving Ruhi from the car this morning. And I am sorry for my behaviour with you, I kind of went a bit too far. But it's just that I can't talk about Ruhi with anyone. There were a lot of things happening when Ruhi was born and I feel uncomfortable talking about all that. It's way too personal."

"I understand Raman. Maybe I also went too far, but I was shocked to know you have a daughter. And I don't know under what circumstances she was born, and I am sorry if I hurt you. But I was hurt too, after knowing that you forgot me so fast. But don't worry I won't ask you any more questions about her."

"Thank you, and I have a small request. Please don't let Ruhi ever know about us."

She nodded her head positively and with that he stood up to leave. Before walking away he looked back her once and said...

"And I didn't move on as fast as you thought I have. You don't know my situation, so don't judge it."

"Same applies to you Raman. Maybe I didn't move on as fast as you think. And you also don't know my situation, so you shouldn't judge it either." She responded back in a sad and disappointed tone.

Saying that, she got up and walked away to leave him thinking about her point of view and about his behaviour towards her.
