And hey, needless to say, I'm interested to read if you are going to write a 'proper story' moving forward.

New title would be - "In between almost and a maybe"

I don't know if I will write the continuation immediately. I do have to get back to RockBarbie soon :=)

hope so, hope so! you are a brilliant writer, and your stories are the only ones i have read multiple times, even though i came across them a bit late. there is no lingering, there is no run of the mill. there is no pride, there is no ego. just two people who come to realize the other's worth... with a beautiful acceptance of it to begin afresh. or in this case, acceptance of circumstances to begin again. wonderful positive attitude. absolutely love it.

kk

Thank you!

And I do hope you continue to write.

Its one way to look at it. I would want to know what happened in the past as a guide to move forward in future. Slavery for example - Its important for future generations to understand how it affected an entire race for several generations. Recreation doesn't always mean it's going to go well. It may as well take the route our own ancestors did.

You know rebuilding sounds like a dream. And for someone who had almost succeede in killing herself, a restart with no real baggage from the past probably sounds like heaven

But it is scary. A world without doctors, for starters. When evolution was underway, it was different. This situation is different - there is precedent, experience...so much unlearning to do before you start learning.

I have mixed feelings. It would be a great contribution to human kind and yet boy am I glad I am not one of those!

You've done well with this one, GTH. Forcing others to think hard and deep - voluntarily is a feat not many can boast of succeeding with. So write as much as you feel like...and then on to the next. We are here eagerly awaiting every new piece! (Although, may I say that I prefer greenteaholic to RockBarbie? If that is even possible, that is!)

32. From the beginning - 3

"Do you think people will still want to practice their religion amidst all this?" A soldier asked, eating fresh fruit. The table fell silent.

"Why would they?" Arnav asked instead.

"Why wouldn't they?" Khushi said.

"Because no God came when world went to shit." Arnav replied.

"Maybe God chose this future for us." Khushi countered.

"You mean using people to host a parasite that takes over their humanity and reduces them to flesh eating creatures? Sounds sociopathic." Arnav didn't mask his irritation.

"When rule gets broken one too many times, drastic measures have to be taken."

"Console yourself with that."

I'm thinking league of shadows, Ra's al ghul, Gotham...

Yes it is a never ending argument. But I have always maintained that those who vehemently argue against a higher power more often than not are just channeling their personal emotion - anger, disappointment, hope even. The true athiest would rather just be indifferent wouldn't s/he? After all till there is answer with unfailing certainty, the two are always alternatives even their probabilities differ hugely

Ah I am not making any sense..it's late here..More tomorrow perhaps?

During progression, they learned with time. And it was progressive learning. It isn't the case now. A person may have more knowledge than the other based on pure exposure. There is learning, unlearning, adaptation and thinking outside the box involved.

Thanks :-) Well, I am partial to GTH for various reasons. I have consciously stayed away from the way I mostly write and experiment with style and subjects. Kinda testing ground, I suppose. And it operates almost like a personal blog with only handful of people around. Its kinda nice and cozy.

That's one way of looking at it. I have a different perspective though. Vehement argument comes when they are forced to accept a perspective that they don't understand. When they are asked to be a part of culture they don't believe in. People who vehemently argue are arguing against a loud believer.

If a true atheist is indifferent, wouldn't faith be practiced in private? Atheists are out in public because faith is intruding on education, law making etc. I have no problem with practicing what my tradition dictates. I have problem when not following it becomes a legal problem or a major societal frown.

Belief is individual dependent.the motive is to move forward and rise from scratch .how we do it doesn't matter.but I believe in such dire situation one tends to go with Arnav s view. How did he (god) allow this to happen at all!?
