"This is it?" Khushi asked looking at the almost empty military canteen. Less than fifty people lingered around looking exhausted.

"The news is - it's just 1% of the population that's unaffected now." Arjun said, sad at that state of affairs.

"And many living died fighting off the undead." Arnav finished Arjun's thought. "So what now?" He asked.

Everyone in group was quiet till Payal broke the silence. "Now, we rebuild." At their questioning glances she shrugged.

"Rebuild what?" Akash asked.

"Our world." There were stars in Payal's eyes.

"How?" Arnav asked.

"By collecting everything that makes us - us." Khushi smiled.

World is really becoming crazy about social media. Of course it has it's own benefit but faults too.

I am not a fan of social media. I don't have Facebook or twitter a/c. But recently i join my college group friends which meet after almost 10 years and we started chatting through whatsapp there also I hardly visit but I do call them personally regularly to listen their voices which we can't to in chatting.

Glad you put this point in your story.Awesome update.

Awesome

Everything in this world is based on hope. And we are fighting every odds for that hope.

Hope that we will get peace in world from terrorism, hope that new govt will fullfill it's promises made to the people before election. And the list is endless.

Hope arnav and Khushi could win this fight.

This could easily lead to women in the group being discriminated on their ability to bear children - with the ones that are able to getting more protection, better food supplies,etc.

Women used for procreation and sex - that is scary! Glad for civilized gentlemen in their group...

Just thinking what will happen to homosexuals!

31. From the beginning - 2

"Collecting?"

Khushi nodded. "Our past. Our history. Resources to store current events. Tools to build future with."

There is silence around the table. "This is it, huh?" Arjun said softly.

"Yes." Arnav replied. "It isn't an ideal situation - we don't have even a doctor amongst our midst let alone a genius who can figure out everything. It's just us ordinary people leading ordinary lives trying to make the best out of an extraordinary situation."

"And we have to do it quickly, right?" Akash asked.
