A few days ago, Rati Agnihotri filed a police complaint accusing her husband businessman Anil Virwani of mental and physical abuse. She filed the complaint after seeking support from a political party.
Anil's side is that Rati has a bad temper and her behaviour towards her friends too has been objectionable in the recent past. "She is hot-headed," he quips.
Upon further probing, the architect says that he has still not recovered why Rati headed to the police station. "I did not beat her."
Meanwhile, Rati continues to live in Anil's home. "She has come back from Lonavla where she keeps going to attend to her mother who has not been keeping well," Anil adds.
But Anil says that he can't try to patch things up because he is not even allowed to talk to her.
"We have a big house...," and he trails off, leaving us to read the rest between the lines.
But the man who had to give his statement to the cops, returns to say, "Our son Tanuj is shaken up." Tanuj who made his debut in Luv U Soniyo is now shooting a film with Sunny Leone.
Rati and Anil have been married since 1985. Earlier the couple stayed in Juhu. Now, they reside in a very swanky house in Worli. The truth of the Rati-Anil case will of course emerge only with time.
