Hello eveyone😳

First of all, Wish you all a very Happy Holi 🥳

This is my first post in this forum. Recently, I rediscovered my addiction to Korean Dramas and came to know of this place n now I can't myself from ranting about it any longer😳 I'll be sharing my whole history of watching the Asian Dramas/Movies so u can know me better( also for the nostalgia❤️) So please, bear with me😳😛

I'm Pranii from Nepal. The first time I learnt of Korean movies was when I was in Class 10. 'He was Cool' was the first Korean movie that I watched and loved it immensely(though m not so sure of it now). Some of my friends were already familiar with Korean movies n they told us the stories of other Korean movies. Then i watched 'My Tutor Friend'-which my friend had given me n found the hero to be so cute(I still like him, though haven't watched him in anythingelse) During my +2, met another friend who was totally into Korean movies and she gave me lots of dvds to watch- The Millionaire's First Love, Marrying the Mafia, Do re mi fa so la ti do, My Wife is a gangster n Daisy. Daisy is among my all time favorite movies n also A Moment to Remember😳 Then i watched Windstruck and 100 days with Mr Arrogant-found them to b decent. Until after +2, I didn't have any idea about Kdramas. Boys Over Flowers was the first one that i watched when a cousin brought it home and that's when my love affair with KDramas started.( Btw, I m a big drama addict. I prefer drama over movies since we get more time to be attached with the character-but more than that, I love stories in any form-even as written updates.) Gu Jun Pyo is ❤️ n so is Lee Min Ho. I was such a fan of him that i said to myself that I won't b watching Kdramas other than those of Lee Min Ho-too naive, right?😆 Personal Taste had recently finished, so I watched that n loved it. It was a long time before another LMH drama n my Kdrama-addicted self needed another dose. So the addiction won-and also the comparison between BOF n You're beautiful/ LMH and Jang Geun Suk got me curious n so I watched You're beautiful next. I have to admit its better than BOF, but then nothing beats F4 together n first love😳 Also in You're Beautiful I felt bad for Shin woo unlike in BOF. Then on the basis of the Dramabeans website ratings and review went on to watch My Girl, Coffee Prince and Full House n loved each one of them. Then watched Beethoven Virus-n loved it too-it was like a breather after watching only romantic comedies. Next was Winter Sonata- we had this aired on our national tv dubbed in Nepali by the literally translated title- Hyudko Prem Geet(so its kind of more special, though i caught only glimpses of it on TV). I have yet to complete this drama-but its already in my most favorites list. Also the anime seems so visually stunning. After this, it was time for another Season Drama- Autumn in my heart- i cried so much watching the initial episodes but didn't feel like watching it further due to the fauxcest-for me it was too early n so unacceptable. But I'm planning to give it another go for Won Bin Then studies took over, I cudnt watch the episodes online due to slow net connection but i still followed the written updates for the shows- My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, Playful Kiss and City Hunter. Though I m yet to complete these, I love them. Well, it seems I love every KDrama that I've watched😆 After this, I cudnt even continue with the updates. So slowly my interest in KDramas declined. I watched The Heirs only for LMH n I didn't quite like it as much as other KDramas-i was more interest in Kim Tan's brother's love story than the main leads'. But recently, I desperately needed an escape from reality(I need that constantly) n so I came back to KDramas. It was Pinocchio that brought my interest back in KDramas- its so emotional n Lee jong Suk is an awesome actor and also very cute. Then I watched a few clips of Goong-can't wait to complete it after exams. It's Okay, That's Love was next-n it was unlike anything that I had watched-such a refreshing watch as its free from most KDrama cliches. Lovely characters and great actors-I got a new crush in Jo InSung-who made me watch The Classic-that movie is beautiful, a classic for sure👍🏼 Will b watching That Winter, the wind blows and rewatching It's Okay, That's Love soon- hopefully in the future i will write something on it and on Jang Jae Yeul-i just need to fangirl on then and Jo In-sung😆

Recently, I'm hooked to Korean Historical/Fusion Dramas. The Moon that Embraces the Sun(I so love the title) was my first, the starting was fab,it disappointed me towards the end. Currently I'm watching The Princess' Man n so far its awesome. The memes of So Ji Sub made me watch The Master's Sun- and I'm glad it did. I didn't know a show with ghosts cud be this funny and romantic yet so emotional. I love this one too and the leads as well. Marriage Not Dating and Fated to love you- watched a few epis n then completed by reading written updates- they r cute n unique in their own ways. The first episode of You Who Came from the Stars wasnt as interesting,so I'm keeping this for a later date.

This is all the KDrama n movie viewing that I've done so far. I've watched only one Chinese drama-Lee Jun Kai( I really liked it despite it being predictable n the dubbing) I haven't watched anything Taiwanese. I've only watched one Japanese Anime- Itazura Na kiss(first few episodes) n 3 Japanese Live-Action movies-1. I give my first love to you- (its cute and emotional, wud have loved it more if i was my younger, less cynical self.) 2.Nobody knows-(heartwrenching n sad; although its nice.there is nothing happy in the movie-why did i watch it? 😭 ) 3. Like Father Like Son-( I love love love this movie-its beautiful, the acting is great, especially love the lead actor)

I'm sorry this post became so long. Will write shorter posts in the future.😳 Wud love to know u guys and ur favorite movies n dramas n views on the ones i have written about. Also wud love to know how popular r Asian dramas n movies at ur place. Here, in the capital at least, mostly Korean Dramas r popular. There is always that one friend who is an avid KDrama lover. The pirated dvds r easily available. The fashion too is popular here. There are some kids who have learnt Korean through KDramas. Now, even Japanese movies r available here. It wasn't so earlier. And there r a few popular Thai movies too. I find it amazing and awesome how dramas n movies can spread n influence cultures. And its so fortunate that we live in this age of globalization where we can get taste of so many diverse cultures through entertainment. It wud be lovely if Zindagi aired these Asian dramas too along with the Turkish n Latin American ones its supposed to air later. More people shud get to know this awesomeness😃 n of course the lovely actors😳

Here is this thing, i always wonder why Indian or Pakistani dramas are not referred to when we say Asian dramas. Why is it so? or m i missing something?

P.S. Its wonderful to see such a peaceful and friendly forum after so long😳
