Firstly, the only reason am watching "Dil Mil Gaye" is because I was and I still am a fiercely loyal fan of good ol' Sanjivani - a serial I watched tearing my hair out until my Rahul-Juhi got married happily and Simran aunty was packed off to Gotham Mental Asylum.😆😆😆....so, DMG is basically nostalgia and Sanjivani relived for me.😳
Today, I am here to discuss Armaan-Riddhima and how they are a striking shadow of Rahul-Juhi ( My comments on Arrogant Anjali😡, Affable Atul😛, Smiley Sapna,😊 Karaate Keerti and Suave Shashank😉 shall follow later.
Armaan - the Bully! Aptly put, isn't it? Armaan is truly Rahul's successor... he is everything that Rahul Mehra was - good looks, rich background ( am I right about that), intelligent, oversmart, overconfident , mischievious, arrogant and loaded with attitude who got a kick out of defeating peple and having an upper hand over them. Like Rahul, Armaan also believes that he is the best and a gift to mankind and womankind😉😆......and then we have Riddhima or rather Ridds - the official RRH ( Red Riding Hood in a bad bad world)...she may not be as enigmatic as her parents Shashank-Smriti or a drop dead gorgeous show stopper like her glamourous elder sister Anjali but there's something unique about her....and that's her pure loving heart , completely free of any negativity or malice....it's the human touch and her naive innocence that makes Riddhima unique....wasn't that our Juhi Singh? Simple, sweet and straight...
Armaan and Riddhima .....one is a rock and the other a calm lapping sea...Armaan has a fixation for Riddhima. He gets a kick out of harassing her. He doesn't know peace unless he has made sure that Ridds gets furious at him at least twice a day...she reacts and he is satisfied. Riddhima on the other hand sees Armaan , not just as an arrogant over-bloated egoistically water-logged idiot but as somebody she can nither control nor understand... even in her darkest hour, she can't let go of the urge to react to him whenever he comes in her way...I see it as a love-hate relationship...Armaan and Ridds do like each-other in an understated and awkward way...like today, Armaan was watching Ridds pray to God with a cute intent... there was no jeering or ridicule there....he eben gave her a right advice after that..Ridds is not unaffected by him either....let's say, it's an attraction that has begun on a wrong basket...oops, a wrong note....
Don't now about you guys... but Armaan-Ridds remind me a lot of the vintage Rahul-Juhi coupling....the same peculiar bonding with a peculair brand of charm and chemistry...always on each-other's necks, plotting against each-other until one day Rahul made a big mistake and hurt Juhi terribly and that one mistake made Rahul realize that his greatest enemy was actually the truest and the only one love of his life.....so, let Armaan-Ridds continue with their bull-fight until they realize what Rahul and Juhi realized....
Lastly, Armaan is a very strong person ...hope he passes some of this strength and self-confidence to Ridds too so that she loves herself more and has more faith in herself that she is inferior to none.😉
