Chapter 16

He touched the corner of her lip softly causing her to close her eyes and breathe sharply. Then he lowered his hand to hold hers, making goosebumps rise all over her body. There was so much love just in the way it touched her.

She didn't say a word as he walked back towards his car, instead she followed him. He opened the passenger door for her.

"Sit," he said, his own voice hoarse.

He wiped his eyes with his fingers quickly, before taking a deep breath and walking over to the driver's side. Opening the door, he slid inside and started the car.

She didn't ask him where he was going and he didn't even tell her. He didn't look at her once during the car ride.

Soon he pulled into a parking lot and Sanyukta looked up at the building that loomed over. It was a very luxurious condominium. Randhir took his keys out of the engine and opened the door. Sanyukta sat still in her seat as Randhir walked over to her side and opened her door.

He held his hand out to her, but she still stared numbly in front of her, and didn't move. Randhir sighed and leaned forward, removing her seatbelt before taking her hand himself.

She looked up at him, and he didn't look at her. Instead she got up, wincing in pain.

He continued to hold her hand as he lead her inside. She followed him inside the elevator. It was empty. He let go of her hand and wrapped his arm around her shoulder, and she leaned into him numbly.

Sanyukta felt so safe and loved when he held her like that.

Once the elevator door opened, he took her hand in his again and lead her to his place. He unlocked the door and took her inside. Locking the door behind them, he turned around to face her.

He cupped her face in his hands and she felt more tears spill from her eyes. Then she threw her arms around him and he held her protectively to him as she sobbed into his chest again.

"Randhir I'm so sorry," she cried. "I never wanted you to see me like this."

He stroked her hair as she cried into his shirt.

"Sanyukta who did this to you?" he asked her, his voice hoarse, coated with defeat. It caused her lips to tremble. "Did Sameer do it?"

omg u r marvelous outstanding writer dear. what a awesome update. u hv penned down dis ff so beautifully that we can't stop ourselves to read it many times. sanyu feel safe in d arm of rd. sandhir r in pain both can't c each other pain. this is called true love. they r seperated from each other but there love is eternal. update next part asap. wanted to know what ll b d reaction of rd after knowing d truth.

Chapter 17

Sanyukta couldn't answer... how would she be able to find the words to describe that her husband was behind this situation?

Which wife would be able to be in this position without feeling ashamed, without feeling horrible... how could she tell him about her husband's misdeeds without feeling like she herself was at fault?

She just kept crying, and he continued to stroke her hair, not pressing the matter further.

Finally she removed her head from his chest and wiped her eyes.

"S - sorry," she said. "I'm sorry for the trouble."

He touched her cheek lightly and Sanyukta's eyes closed... why was it that in every slight touch of his, she felt love?

"Don't be," he told her. "Come here."

He took her hand and lead her to the sofa. Placing his hands on her shoulders, he pushed them down so she could sit down.

"One minute," he said, then disappeared from the room.

Sanyukta watched as he entered his kitchen and then walked back out barely thirty seconds later with packs of ice.

Randhir approached her and knelt down, placing the packs of ice on the table. He took her hands from her lap, and squeezed them reassuringly.

"The ice will make you feel better," he told her softly.

She just nodded numbly. She already didn't feel much of her pain. She was only drowning in heartbreak... was there an ice pack for that too?

Randhir picked up one pack and then sat on the sofa next to her. Lightly bringing his fingers up to her jawline, he held her face in place as he brought the pack to the corner of her lips.

She shivered.

"Sanyukta stay still," Randhir told her.

"It's cold," she murmured.

Then he caressed her cheek lightly, making Sanyukta completely forget about the cold ice pack on the side of her lips. Her attention shifted to his fingers and how he held her face so lovingly... like it would break if he treated it with any less love.

Her eyes filled with tears again at his loving gesture. Maybe if they hadn't broken up in college, none of this would have happened, and they would have still been together.

No, she couldn't think like that. That wasn't right... what she had done in college was for the best for both of them. She had earned a good title in her office too because of the amount of focus she had, and she didn't think if she was on Randhir's mind, that he could have risen his business empire so quickly.

So perhaps their breakup was for the best.

"There's no point thinking about the past," Randhir muttered, as if he had read her mind. "It's over."

She looked into his eyes, which were on her lips. Not out of lust, but out of pure concern.

He removed the ice pack from her lips and traced them with his fingers softly causing Sanyukta to breathe faster.

Randhir looked like he was hesitating to say something, but he finally said it.

"Sanyukta, I'll need to apply ice to your back," he told her, causing her to look up in shock.
