The Potential of Begusarai!

To begin with, I am not a fan of the show - at least not yet 😊 However, considering that many people recommended it, I thought of catching up on a few episodes and found it interesting - and somewhat different! Which is good - because the genre is not like a typical soap nor is the presentation the same. The casting is pretty good, especially the older generation until Mithilesh. The younger lot are relatively new actors I think. Though they are doing a good job so far, they still have to get enough opportunities in the show to prove their capability and become really impressive - you know to get into the league of television 'stars'. So, good luck to them 👍🏼

Now, here are the threads I would look forward to watching on the show:

1. Phoolan Thakur's Waris - This would be interesting to watch. None of his four probable heirs currently match up to his charisma - they are nowhere near, in fact. However, I am sure as the show progresses, the characters will evolve and one of them will be handed over the mantle. It is impossible to guess currently who that will be and therein lies the intrigue

2. The love triangle of Lakhan, Poonam and Priyom - Another interesting track that can go any way. Currently the dynamics are pretty vague. Poonam and Priyom are fond of each other as friends, she trusts him and he respects her (which is great considering his philandering ways 😉) but whether that will develop into something more remains to be seen! As far as Poonam and Lakhan are concerned, she is afraid of him but is socially bound to him as her fiance. She has accepted her fate but does not seem to have any positive vibes towards Lakhan. Whether this relationship translates into something better, deeper is again something that remains to be seen. Lakhan is the most interesting in this trio as his character can evolve into either an enigmatic hero capable of great love and passion or a misguided, cunning villain who will make the other couple's life hell. His feelings for Poonam are still not very clear too - whether it is love or authority or something else...For me, I would like him evolving into a 'hero' (or a gray anti-hero, if you prefer 😊) but I am doubtful as currently he is shown as "bail buddhi" and is quite capable of being influenced by advice or impulse - rightly or wrongly 👎🏼 On the other hand, Priyom is being shown as a large-hearted, considerate, basically good guy. Poonam is confused and honestly she is rather irritatingly quiet, but I am sure she will grow too. So, any of the love stories may kick off ! This track's success or failure will completely depend on the handling!

3. Femme fatale - As is being promoted, this would be the pivot of the plot with Shweta Tiwari taking the center stage. She has resolved to break the family but whether she uses her own 'jalwa' to do that or uses the ambiguities in the existing relationships to do that would be surely interesting to watch. Which of the brothers will fall for her and what would happen to Priyom-Poonam-Lakhan? Lot of questions here and hopefully the show will answer them satisfactorily 😊

Overall, Begusarai has a lot of potential and many things to look forward to - but the key lies in the hands of the PH and CVs to do justice to that potential and give the viewers something different and worthy to continue watching!

Thanks a lot 😊 I wish the same too. A lot many good and different shows have gone down the drain due to channel politics, mishandling by the creatives, and the TRP race. Let's hope this one doesnt!
