Salima Sultan Begum was Akbar's second most important wife after his chief consort, Ruqaiya. She was also his favourite after his first wife, Ruqaiya.

Salima was also Akbar's first cousin, she was the daughter of his paternal aunt, Gulrang Begum. Salima was therefore, Emperor Babur's maternal granddaughter. She was highly educated and was an accomplished poetess, who kept accounts of Akbar's court matters. Also, she was a kind person and a lovely woman with great personal qualities.

Salima was married as a teenager to the much older Bairam Khan because Humayun had promised BK that he would marry his niece, Salima, to him. After BK's death, Akbar married her himself. Akbar and Salima did not have a romantic relationship prior to their marriage.

@zari I totally agree! How can they show a dignified lady like Salima like this?! Just cause Jalal is the villain here doesn't mean that they can show anything and everything! It's absolutely despicable and unforgivable 😡😡
