The episode starts with Dharma preparing to go to the forests with Bindusara. Ashoka joins her and says that it is his first day at the Rajkiya Vidyalaya and he has come to take her blessings. Dharma says that this is a rough patch for her. She cannot bless him for something she doesn't approve off. Being a student of that Vidyalaya will make Ashoka very violent and she never will approve of violence. Ashoka argues that he cannot go to the university without the blessings of her. He will definitely fail if she doesn't bless him. Dharma says that my blessings are always with you. I can only hope that you have the courage to do whatever you wish to do. If you fail, you should have resilience. More than that, she can't say anything. Dharma is leaving the tent when Ashoka asks her to smile to him, just once. Dharma turns and smiles. Ashoka smiles back and Dharma leaves.

The procession of King Bindusara reaches the forest. The drummers leas the way through the woods. Sounds of roar stop the procession and one of the soldiers go to look ahead. His shriek alerts everyone and the King and his men follow the direction of the cry. The soldier is fou d with injuries on his chest which look like paws of a big cat. Bindusara declares that the tiger knows the ways of human movement. We have to be extra careful.
Ashoka reaches the university and is in awe of the place. He looks around at the training arenas, and the canteen and the weapons arena. He is excited to learn all sorts of weapon use. Sushim comes with his troops for the training when they spot Ashoka. The troops surround Ashoka and mock him. Ashoka says that I came here with an aim to befriend you, but now I am pretty sure that I will never want to befriend the likes of you. I will stay away. You judge people by their status and not their talents which is disgusting. Sushim orders his friends to beat him up. They almost put Ashoka to ground when the younger prince Noor's son interferes and threatens to call the Principal. Sushim and his friends retreat. The prince rescues Ashoka and says that his friendship is permanent.
Dharma is worried. She thinks the events of the past. Ashoka taking a vow to never use violence again. And then Ashoka announcing that he would learn to use violence because he isn't ready to lose her. If nonviolence comes at the cost of losing his mother, he would prefer violence. Dharma is in a mess when an informer informs that a boy from the university is injured. Dharma asks who is he. The informer says Ashoka. He has severe injuries and needs immediate attention. Dharma grabs her stuff and rushes to the cart.
On the way, she feels guilty that her vow made Ashoka step back and that is why he got hurt. Her vow made him weak. An arrow pierces through the cart and misses Dharma. Dharma asks the informer to take the cart faster. Sensing that they are on the wrong path, Dharma asks to stop the cart. Soldiers surround the cart. Dharma has run away by now. The soldiers look for her. Amidst darkness, she is captured by the men who exclaim that according to Rajmata's orders, she must be killed. Dharma is assassinated. Ashoka wakes up from a bad dream and reaches the training arena and starts using a sword. The young prince come and say that this isn't how it is done. He shows him the nuances of sword fighting. Ashoka picks up. Prince says that Brother Sushim's rage made you so upset. Ashoka says that those guys are inconsequential to me. All I care for is the safety of my loved ones, my mother.
Dharma's corpse lies on the forest bed and wind slowly covers it with leaves.
Precap: Bindusara and his army find the corpse. Bindusara sees the bangles on the wrist and identify it. On removing the leaves they realize that the face has been destroyed. Chanakya gets the earrings from his men and exclaim that the deceased is Dharma. He is stunned to hear the truth.
