Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda talk to Harshada Rege about their real-life love story
He is soft-spoken and an introvert, she is bubbly and an absolute extrovert. And yet they make a great pair together. Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda are not 'just friends' anymore. They are seeing each other and it's official! They spoke to BT about their relationship. "It wasn't love at first sight. We have known each other for about three years now. It's more like love developing into friendship then just love or attraction between two strangers," says Aamir. "We started seeing each only two-three months back, but before that we were just friends, as clichd as that may sound," Sanjeeda laughs.
But there have been rumours linking them for a long time now. "That's because we used to hang out together and people just jumped to conclusions," says Aamir. So, was there any attraction at all? Sanjeeda says, "I always had this special feeling for Aamir and I knew he was special to me. Now, of course things have fallen into place," she says. Aamir, however, says that for him, there was no particular moment when he realised that he liked Sanjeeda. "It was a gradual thing and that's the way it should be. We knew each other very well, so we don't have unrealistic expectations from the relationship," he says.
So, who's the romantic one in the relationship? "Not me," laughs Aamir adding, "I am shy and can't express my feelings easily. Even now, I am finding it difficult to talk about the realtionship." Sanjeeda on the other hand, says she is an extrovert and is very expressive about her feelings. "I know he's shy, but he is very sweet. One doesn't have to keep saying how they feel. Anyone can make out if the other person's feelings are genuine or not," she says.
And is the couple working in any project together? "Not as of now," they say. But aren't they together on Nach Baliye 3? "That's not confirmed yet," says Aamir. But they do talk about work when together. "Yes, we discuss work all the time. But it's not like I keep praising him or he keeps saying good things about me. We tell each other if we liked or didn't like any particular scene," she says. But considering the nowfamous hectic schedules in the TV industry, is it tough to maintain a relataionshiop? "It is! We don't get time to meet each other everyday as both of us are working in a daily. But we are still able to make time for each other," smiles Sanjeeda.
