I think this is one of the rare shows where the male characters are not reduced to by standers.
Right from Bhairon Basant Shyam who are supporting characters to the two male leads Shiv and Jagya each of the characters are so distinct from each other
In the latter parts of the story Daddu and Anop stood out too.
That is definitely something rare in Hindi daily soaps
Both Shiv and Jagya are definitely unique as far as the male leads go.That too in a show which is not really family drama or a love story but issue based show
When they first introduced Shiv as a new man in Anandi's life who will play positive role I was expecting to see some boringly good man coming into Anandi's life😛😆
Never seen a positive male lead who was so cool, and funny, who is super hero with all the frailities and vulnerabilities as an ordinary man and larger than life yet so close to real life

Well, Shiv has been one of the best consistent characters in BV, no doubt about it. I have mourned for the demise of this wonderful character in BV. He was able to create an identity of his own and I would remember him as the handsome spunky duteous District collector who was madly in love with his wife and family, deadly combination !

But there are other characters as well who played a major role in Anandi's life, especially Sumitra and Bhairon. I have enjoyed watching them too as a loving couple and as wonderful parents.

I have liked watching Anandi and Jagya's story to begin with Dadisa as the sutradhar. On my BV journey somewhere lost touch with Jagya and became an AnSh admirer. Thoroughly enjoyed watching them as a couple. For the serial to continue, some drastic changes have to be made. I never had humongous expectations from any character, admired them when they did good, criticized them when they were portrayed poorly.

And the kids shown in BV are so adorable, Nandu, Mannu, Amol, Shivam, Nandini.

I did expect Anandi to be back at Jaitsar after Shiv's death. Unfortunately, Anandi is in a weak position right now. But she will build her own home soon in Jaitsar. I think BV will pick up speed after the leap, with new characters introduced. Am also hoping that Nandini will be brought up by another loving family or a caring member at least, not the ones currently being shown.

Its not end of BV for me, I shall keep watching of course 😊.

For me this show will always be about Anandi - who is strong for others and overcomes her inabilities and weaknesses when she is helping others when she is thinking about others who becomes a tigress when standing up for others but becomes someone so ordinary when it concerns her life.

For me she is somebody extra ordinary because the best of her comes out when she is helping others. Her brains capabilities her strengths she uses to help others and she shines when she is helping others.
There are intelligent and capable people every where but most of them use them for their own benefit. If others benefit from their acts good for them but if nobody ever benefitted from their brains and capabilities except them what use does world have for those kind of people?

I am copy pasting my own comment from another thread here as it is relevant even here.

I think we need both anandi and shiv to complete.

I have observed social workers who are truly committed are not helpless like anandi.
Kejriwal, Medha Patkar, Teesta Setalvad, Priya pillai are facing challenges without becoming helpless.Of course the greatest of them all Mahatma Gandhi.

The key is not to obey the so called elders in the family blindly. The ability to say no to them on their face.
If you want to balance, you will lose the focus.

This is CVs fault, not anandi's.

They want an obedient bahu also. Since they can't make her negative or dumb or a scaredy cat they make her weak in front of her loved ones bowing down before them
Otherwise how else we can explain the Anandi who fought with Dsa to start school and the Anandi who continued with her social work in Udaipur even when she met with resistence in the form of Ira in the initial days of her starting Bhaili?

I will remember BV for everything till 2012.

The initial years of BV were the best.

Everything went downhill in last 2 years with too many replacements, illogical tracks.

Bhairon, Shyam and Shiv were great characters. DS evolved a lot and Surekha ji is a gem of an actor.

Avika's Anandi was the best.

I can't relate to BV since ages now.
