At Roshan's house, Roshan was staring at a new painting that was placed upon the wall of his living room. It was an abstract painting that consisted of swirly patterns over a colorful background scheme. Roshan analyzed every detail of the painting and said, "Good! There's an even amount of swirls on the painting! I'll keep it!" Just then, Roshan's cellphone was ringing on the coffee table. He picked it up to see Sagar was calling. "Hello?" Roshan answered the call.
"What are you doing now?"
"Just checking this painting I got! Nothing but eveness all over it just like I like!"
"You moron. Where's Sanaya?"
"In the kitchen. Why?"
"I'm trusting you with her staying at your home till I find some other place as accomodation for her."
"Why make her stay with me to begin with?!"
"One, your her partner. And two, out of the rest of us, you have the biggest place to stay at. Just make sure she feels welcome. She's still new to Earth."
"Why should I make the one who broke my sculpture welcome in my house?!"
"Idiot, break it again and it'll be even. I'm going now. Bye."
With that, Sagar hung up the phone and Roshan placed his cellphone back on the coffee table. Just then, Sanaya entered the living room with a tray in her hand that carried a cup of tea on a plate. "Hi, Roshan." Sanaya greeted.
Roshan was startled to see Sanaya. He then kept his cool as Sanaya gave him a pleasant smile. "Hello, Sanaya," Roshan returned the greeting. "What is that you have there?"
"Oh, I made you some tea."
"You know how to make tea?!"
"Of course. Even on Ekta, we make tea. Have some."
"Why, thank you!"
Roshan took the cup of tea and began to drink from the cup, appearing to be enjoying the tea Sanaya had made. "I hope you like it. Its got everything like regular tea," Sanaya smiled. "I even put one spoon of sugar."
Suddenly, Roshan's eyes beamed and he then immediately spit the tea out to Sanaya's surprise and confusion. "How much spoons of sugar did you say?!" Roshan asked Sanaya.
"Just one."
"ONE?! HOW DARE YOU PUT ONE SPOON OF SUGAR IN MY TEA?!"
"Um...sorry...do you not like sugar?"
"THAT'S NOT THE PROBLEM!"
"Then what is?"
"ONE! YOU PUT ONE SPOON OF SUGAR! THAT'S AN ODD NUMBER!"
"Oh not this drama again!"
"WHAT DRAMA?! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO PUT TWO SPOONS OF SUGAR! THEN IT BECOMES EVEN!"
"Does it really matter?"
"FINE! I will go make it myself!"
With that, Roshan scurried off to the kitchen while Sanaya remained in the living room. Sagar wasn't kidding when he said this guy's a moron, Sanaya thought to herself. She shrugged her shoulders and went into the kitchen to see that Roshan had gone off to the dining table to have his tea. She then got out a plate and placed a piece of naan bread and some chicken curry onto the plate. Sanaya then brought the food to the dining room where Roshan was drinking his tea.
"All right, I'm sorry for putting one spoon of sugar in your tea."
"That's better. Apology accepted."
"At least have the lunch I made."
"What did you make?"
"Naan and chicken."
"My favorite!"
Sanaya then placed the plate of food onto the table in front of Roshan. "How very nice of you, Sanaya!" Roshan exclaimed. "I shall-"
Before Roshan finished his sentence, he looked down upon the plate and gasped at what he saw. The naan bread was touching the chicken curry. He let out a loud scream. "Now what?!" Sanaya asked, rolling her eyes.
"HOW COULD YOU DO THIS?!"
"Do what? I made your favorite food, didn't I?!"
"YES, BUT LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID!"
"I don't see the issue. The food looks fine to me."
"THE NAAN IS TOUCHING THE CHICKEN!"
"So?"
"I NEVER EAT FOODS THAT TOUCH!"
"You have got to be kidding me?!"
"Take it back and make sure they're not touching!"
"No way! I already made it! Now eat it like it is!"
"There's no way I'll eat this! You expect me to eat this when they have already touched!"
"Now you're just being a real pain!"
Suddenly, a flashing light emerged from the kitchen walls. Roshan and Sanaya covered their eyes as the light flashed into their eyes. Once it stopped, they opened their eyes to see a portal form on the kitchen wall. "We'll have to settle this later. Master Suri probably needs us now." Sanaya said. Sanaya then went ahead and stepped into the portal, with Roshan following her. The two were then transferred into the chamber of Master Suri's tower where Sagar, Bhoomi, Krish, and Chaya were already at.
"Very good," Master Suri nodded. "You all are here."
"Well you did send us here." said Bhoomi.
"So what's up?" Krish asked.
"I have a little quest for all of you." Master Suri replied.
"What kind of quest?" Sagar asked.
"Take a seat." Master Suri ordered.
Sagar, Bhoomi, Krish, Chaya, Roshan, and Sanaya all sat down on the chairs that were provided in the chamber room while Master Suri came in front of them. "I have a special task for the six of you. Its special in the sense that you all will be sent together as a team rather than in your individual partnerships." Master Suri began.
"Well that's a relief." Chaya said.
"Hey!" Krish exclaimed.
"So what is the task?" Sagar asked.
"On Earth, there is a man who lives in Paris by the name of Vardhan," Master Suri began explaining. "Its been reported that he is the first of many Ekta civilians to cross over to Earth."
"Why is he on Earth?" Bhoomi asked.
"That we are not sure of. But we believe he is the cause of the rise of missing people in Paris. So here's what I need for you all to do," Master Suri continued. "I will send all of you to Paris. Once you all reach Paris, your job will be to find out where Vardhan is in the city. Once you find him, you will have to stop him."
"Stop him?! What exactly is the point of this?" Chaya asked.
"Vardhan possesses three prism shards." Master Suri replied.
"Really?!" the others replied in unison.
"And since you all have zero prism shards, this will give you all a chance to get one each." Master Suri said.
"Does he have to remind us about that?!" Roshan asked.
"Wow! A trip to Paris!" Bhoomi exclaimed. "When do we go?!"
"Right now." Master Suri replied.
Master Suri snapped his fingers and within moments, a portal formed on the chamber wall. "This is your ride to Paris. Be careful out there," Master Suri told the Spectrum members. "And here's some money for each of you...just incase you need anything over there." Master Suri handed each of the Spectrum members a small stack of French currency. And so, the Spectrum members made their way into the portal and the portal closed once they all entered. They may not be aware of the danger ahead, Master Suri thought to himself. But that's just how I want things to go.
And so, the Spectrum members were transferred back to Earth in the beautiful city of Paris in France. As they looked around their surroundings, they noticed that they were standing before the Eifle Tower. "Wow! The Eifle Tower!" Bhoomi exclaimed.
"So this is it?!" Sanaya asked. "Wow, its even more beautiful than in the pictures!"
"We should go up the tower!" Bhoomi suggested.
"Bhoomi, we don't have time for sightseeing. We're here to find Vardhan." Sagar told Bhoomi.
"Oh come on, Sagar! It'll be fun!" Krish urged Sagar.
"We shouldn't we wasting time for such silly things. We are going to go find Vardhan and get his prism shards." Sagar said.
"You can such a bore sometimes." Bhoomi shook her head.
"How can we even find Vardhan when we don't know what he looks like?" Roshan asked.
"You should know, Roshan. As members of the Spectrum, its easy for us to sense the prescence of prism shards," Sagar answered. "Considering this is Paris, it won't be hard to find one man that has prism shards."
"So how do you suggest we go about finding him?" Chaya asked.
"We'll split up," Sagar replied. "Roshan and Sanaya, you two can search this part of the city. Krish and Chaya, you check the central area. Bhoomi and I will check downtown. We'll report back to the Eifle Tower by the evening. Clear?"
"All right. Let's get going then." said Krish.
And so, Roshan and Sanaya walked around near a shopping center, looking around Vardhan. "Do you really think Vardhan would be out here shopping?!" Sanaya asked.
"Why? I'm a window shopper myself!"
"Frankly, I'm not surprised."
"There's no luck over here! Now what?!"
"I'm getting hungry. Shall we go eat something?"
"Hungry you say? All right."
Roshan and Sanaya then headed off to a small eatery called Pierre Herme, a personal shop for macarons. The two sat down at a table and a waiter came to them with menus while the two took a look. "I'll have the orange macaron deluxe." Sanaya told the waiter.
"Very well. And what about you, sir?" the waiter asked Roshan.
"Give me the lemon macaron special," Roshan replied. "And make sure the macarons don't touch each other!"
"Um...okay...very well," the waiter said, confused. "I shall have it ready."
The waiter then left. Sanaya turned to Roshan who was placing two napkins each on both sides of his plate. He even was trying to put them in the same positions. "You really are a weirdo." Sanaya said.
"What are you talking about?!"
"What's up with the napkins?! And is it really a big deal if the macarons touch! Its the same food!"
"Foods should never touch each other as it creates an imbalance of two distinct things! Same with odd numbers! I curse whoever invented them! Odd numbers are the reason not everything is even! Which is why even numbers are the best as they create equality in everything!"
"You really are something."
Just then, the waiter came back to Roshan and Sanaya's table. "Here you are madame and sir...one orange macaron deluxe and a lemon macaron special." the waiter said as he placed the macarons on Roshan and Sanaya's plates.
"Thank you." Sanaya smiled. Sanaya then turned to Roshan, who looked at his plate, gasping. Sanaya looked at the plate, rolling her eyes and said, "Oh God...not again."
"How could you do this?!" Roshan asked the waiter.
"Sorry, sir? You asked for the lemon macaron special," the waiter said. "And the macarons aren't even touching like you told me to."
"But look! There are three macarons!" Roshan exclaimed.
"Yeah. The lemon macaron special contains three macarons." the waiter said.
"NOOO! TAKE IT BACK! THREE IS AN ODD NUMBER! IT CAN'T BE THREE!" Roshan screamed. "TAKE ONE BACK! TAKE ONE BACK RIGHT NOW!"
"Its okay! I'll take it!" Sanaya exclaimed as she took one of the macarons off of Roshan's plate. "That'll be all. Thank you."
With that, the waiter left the table, scared as ever. "What the heck?! Was creating a scene necessary?!" Sanaya asked Roshan.
"He should know better than to put an odd number of macarons in a special!"
"You're such a lunatic!"
"I'm no lunatic! I'm-"
"Now what?!"
"LOOK AT WHAT YOU'VE DONE! NOW THE MACARONS ARE TOUCHING!"
"Oh dear God!"
On the other hand, Krish and Chaya were walking into the park. They looked around every corner of the park, stopping by near the pond. "No sign of Vardhan anywhere." Chaya sighed.
"Man! This sucks!"
"Well with you around, its not like I can really get anything done!"
"Why do you always have to be so mean to me?!"
"There's nothing mean about telling the truth."
"You know what?! I'm doomed to have you as my partner! Now if Sanaya was my partner...that would be amazing! She's so cute and just my type...it would be-"
Before Krish could finish talking, Chaya slapped Krish on the back of his head, making him fall into the pond with a thud. "You moron." Chaya rolled her eyes. Krish popped out of the pond and shouted, "Why the heck did you do that?! Now you got my blazer wet!"
"I just thought you needed a little cooling off."
"What cooling off?! This is so not cool!"
"Really?! Its probably the best thing to happen today."
In the downtown area, Sagar and Bhoomi were passing by every shop and store to find Vardhan. But even they had no luck. "Sagar, we've looked everywhere. Let's take a break." Bhoomi told Sagar.
"How can we take a break, Bhoomi? We need to find Vardhan and elminate him fast."
"Well...I haven't even eaten since this morning."
"Wait...you mean...you're hungry?"
"Yes."
"Why didn't you say earlier?! You sometimes act like a fool. Come...we'll go to this restaurant right here."
And so, Sagar and Bhoomi went inside a restaurant called Caffe De Amore. Once they entered inside, a waiter escorted them to a free table and the two were seated. He then handed them a menu. After discussing their order, Sagar told the waiter, ''We'll take the bouillabaisse, one for each of us."
The waiter nodded and then headed out into the hall. As Sagar and Bhoomi sat and waited, Sagar looked around to see that the restaurant was packed with nothing but lovely couples who were enjoying time together inside. He gave a confused face and said, "I wonder why only couples are in this restaurant." Bhoomi then rolled her eyes and thought to herself, For someone so high and mighty, he clearly doesn't know French. The restaurant name literally translates as Cafe of Love. Bhoomi sat in her chair, putting the menu to her face as she blushed a bit.
In the evening, the Spectrum members met back at the Eiffel Tower. "Any luck?" Sagar asked the others.
"We didn't find anything," Chaya said. "But Krish had a good swim today."
"Shut up!" Krish exclaimed.
"Same for us. We just had a little macaron drama in the cafe." Sanaya rolled her eyes.
"Well this has been a waste of time. The whole day is gone and we still haven't seen Vardhan." Sagar said in an annoyed tone.
"Its possible that he could've left the city." said Bhoomi.
"Maybe we should call it a night!" Roshan exclaimed. "We can go to a hotel and I can make us all cookies!"
Suddenly, Sagar's eyes beamed. He turned straight into the distance. "What's wrong, Sagar?" Bhoomi asked Sagar.
"I got him!" Sagar exclaimed. Sagar then took off straight down the road while the others then went after him. "Slow down, Sagar!" Krish called out. But Sagar didn't listen. He continued to move quickly while the others followed him in the direction he was moving in.
After ten minutes, Sagar had finally stopped in front of what appeared to be the Notre Dame de Paris. "Whoah! This is the famous church...the Notre Dame de Paris!" Bhoomi exclaimed.
"If you're so interested in French Gothic architecture, you could have just said so." Chaya told Sagar.
"I sense something inside the church." Sagar said.
"Sense what?" Sanaya asked.
"The prescence of prism shards is somewhere inside. Can't any of you sense it?" Sagar asked the others.
"I think I can sense something." said Bhoomi.
"But how? The sign says that the church is closed so no one is allowed to enter." Chaya said.
"And apparently she can read French." Krish rolled his eyes.
"Vardhan could be inside there. We have to go in." Sagar told the others.
"So what do we do?" Roshan asked.
"Me and Bhoomi will sneak inside the church. If Vardhan is there, we'll take care of him." Sagar explained.
"Shouldn't we all go together?" Sanaya asked.
"If we all go at once, he'll suspect something and run off. Me and Bhoomi can handle it. You guys just stay here," Sagar ordered. "Come, Bhoomi."
And so, Bhoomi followed Sagar to the other side of the church while the others looked on. "Man! He is so bossy!" Krish exclaimed.
On the other side of the church, Sagar and Bhoomi had transformed into spectrum form and had jumped upward on the church building. They stood beside the open windows and looked inside in the main church. As the looked inside, they found a tall, dark man dressed in a long brown trenchcoat and black pants looking down upon the body of what appeared to be an unconscious boy. He drew out a prism shard from his coat, holding it above the boy. "That must be Vardhan." said Sagar.
"What is he doing to that boy with his shard?!"
"I don't know. But we should go in and stop him!"
"Are you sure we can do this without the others?"
"Having the others would get in our way. Now just do as I say, Bhoomi."
"But-"
"Bhoomi! This is no time to argue. When I say go, we jump in through the windows and attack! Ready?"
"Yes."
"Go!"
And so, Sagar and Bhoomi jumped into the church through the open windows. Sagar and Bhoomi then launched a series of water and earth energy beams directly at the man. The man then turned around, and jumped away from their attacks. Sagar and Bhoomi got onto the floor, standing in front of the man. The man grinned evilly and said, "Look at what we have here. A couple of bratty kids trying to disturb the peace of this church."
"What peace are you talking about?!" Bhoomi shouted. "What do you think you're doing to that boy?!"
"Are you Vardhan?!" Sagar asked the man.
"Why yes I am. Glad to see the name has caught on," the man replied. "And whatever I do with this boy is none of your business."
"Just answer the question! What are you doing with that boy?!" Sagar yelled.
"Just absorbing his energy into the prism shard I possess." Vardhan answered.
"What?!" Sagar asked.
"Yes," Vardhan grinned. "These prism shards are indeed very powerful. You would know since you two possess ones yourself. But in order to make them more powerful, all I have to do is absorb the energy of human bodies into the shards and the power increases."
"That is so twisted! Just for power, you'll hurt innocent people and take away their energies!" Bhoomi shouted.
"Your days are done! We're going to take you down right now!" Sagar told Vardhan.
"Really?!" Vardhan asked with a smirk on his face. "All right then! I've been in need of a good fight anyway! Besides, if I can kill you both, I can take your shards as well!"
"Bhoomi, go!" Sagar ordered.
Bhoomi then immediately ran down the church hall and launched an earth energy beam at Vardhan. Vardhan then blasted it off with his arm alone, which turned into a blade. The sight astonished both Bhoomi and Sagar. "His arm...it turned into a weapon!" Bhoomi exclaimed.
"Good eye! The power of the prism shard never fails to surprise anyone." Vardhan cackled.
"So that's his power!" said Sagar. "Then what are the other two shards for?"
"Those are energy shards. Any energy shard boosts the power of a standard shard. The more of them the stronger you are," Vardhan replied. "But I can be even more powerful with the help of the energy of human bodies."
"You disgusting maggot!" Sagar shouted as he then jumped upward, launching a water twister attack directly at Vardhan. Vardhan jumped and went through the water twister, using his blade to guide him through. As he got towards Sagar, Bhoomi launched a vine attack from the ground floor to hold down Vardhan by his legs. Though the vines were able to tie down Vardhan, he managed to cut them down with his blade arm. Vardhan then used his blade to swift the water twsiter attack directly at Sagar, which pushed him right into the cathedral door. Sagar remained onto the door, while the water continued to hit him. "Sagar!" Bhoomi shouted. Once the water stopped, Sagar was left down and weakened. Vardhan then made his way down the aisle, aiming his blade to hit Sagar. He'll kill Sagar with that blade! Bhoomi thought to herself as she began to pant. Vardhan was just about to attack with his blade arm to which Sagar couldn't even move away from. But at that moment, something else was hit by the blade. Sagar looked up and was shocked at what he saw. Bhoomi had taken the hit from Vardhan's blade arm, which hit struck her directly into shoulder.
Sagar was beyond shocked at what Bhoomi had done. She had gotten in the way to save Sagar. And so, Bhoomi fell to the floor, her shoulder bleeding. Vardhan then jumped back, seeing his attack didn't hit Sagar. Sagar looked at Bhoomi in shock. "BHOOMI!" Sagar yelled as he rushed towards her, holding her in his arms.
The others could hear the commotion from outside. "Something's not right!" Chaya told the others.
"I can feel it too!" Roshan exclaimed.
"So what do we do?!" Krish asked.
"We need an attack that can cause a good amount of damage!" Chaya replied.
"Sanaya, do you know anything you can do with the powers you have?" Roshan asked Sanaya.
"Before my shard was taken, I did learn how to perform a solar beam attack." Sanaya answered.
"That should be powerful enough to take out the enemy!" Krish exclaimed.
"But it takes some time for me to perfectly form it when there's little daylight left." Sanaya said.
"Then hurry up and start! We'll create a diversion!" Chaya ordered.
Sanaya nodded and stood in place of the sun that was slowly setting down. She tapped her prism shard, transforming into spectrum form. Sanaya raised her hands upward, closing her eyes and focusing her energy from the little energy left from the sun. The others transformed into spectrum form as well. "Let's get ready to attack." Chaya said.
Inside the cathedral, Sagar still held onto Bhoomi, who laid unconscious in his arms. "Why would you do that? Why do that for me?" Sagar asked as he shed a small tear. "What did you do to her?! Tell me!"
"She's such a fool. Very weak I must say. I wonder why she would've put herself before you and take the attack herself. Quite foolish," Vardhan said. "No matter. You both are down at this point. So now...I'll do the attack right this time and kill you both."
Vardhan ran towards Sagar and Bhoomi, getting his blade arm ready to attack. Just then, Krish released a fireball attack that struck down the door of the cathedral. And while doing so, Roshan attacked Vardhan with an electrical energy beam attack, which shocked Vardhan and made him fall to the ground. Chaya turned to Sagar and Bhoomi, "What happened to Bhoomi?!"
"Vardhan struck her with his blade." Sagar said as Chaya went to Bhoomi, holding her hand.
"She needs help." Chaya said.
"Man, you are one messed up guy!" Krish exclaimed.
"And what's with the arm?!" Roshan asked.
"More brats?!" Vardhan asked as he got up. "And I thought playtime was over."
"Sanaya, are you ready?!" Roshan asked Sanaya.
"I'm ready!" Sanaya answered.
And so, Sanaya attacked Vardhan directly with a powerful solar beam attack which struck Vardhan hard while the others watched. After that, Vardhan was left on the ground, weakened. "You may have won that. But don't think you'll never see me again." Vardhan said as he suddenly faded away in the smoke from the attack.Krish then looked down on the floor, picking up two prism shards, "He left these behind."
Sanaya rushed down the aisle to the boy lying on the floor, helping him get up. "We should take this boy and Bhoomi to a hospital immediately!" Sanaya told the others.
"Right!" Roshan agreed. "We should go now!" Roshan then helped Bhoomi up, taking her out of Sagar's arms. "Roshan, I'll take her." Sagar told Roshan.
"Its okay, Sagar. We'll handle this ourselves."
"What do you mean?"
"I thought by now you would've learned. You put yourself and Bhoomi in so much danger. She's in great trouble now."
"I would've been the one that got attacked! Bhoomi got in the way!"
"Because she's your partner! She's always respected you as a partner to the point that she'll put your life before her own! That's why she's your partner! And it was your idea to go about this on your own. And now look at what's happened."
Sagar was left with nothing else to say. Roshan then followed the others out of the cathedral, taking Bhoomi with him while Sagar looked on in sadness. Bhoomi, Sagar thought to himself. I'm sorry...
