Sanyukta took a deep breath as she walked onto the temple grounds, her face covered with her veil.

Her heart was beating rapidly, so many things could go wrong... it was only luck that could save her today.

If destiny truly wanted her and Randhir's union now, then there would be no reason for this to fail.

She was dressed in red, and Vidhushi had her hands on her arms, walking beside her up the stairs of the temple. Parth was to come with Randhir. As soon as they reached the top, she saw Randhir sitting, dressed as a groom, looking unhappy, and she didn't blame him... she probably broke his heart today.

Parth was beside Randhir, the pandit preparing for the procession. Randhir looked up as she approached and she instinctively brought her hands up to her veil, holding it down further to cover her face.

She sat down beside Randhir and closed her eyes as the pandit started to chant.

She had zoned out completely, in her own thoughts, wondering how long this would take, but was shaken by the pandit's words... "Name, Gotram and Nakshatra of the bride?"

Chapter 52

Shit. What would save her now?

Parth started to cough out loud and Randhir's attention turned to Parth. He was having a coughing fit, like he was choking.

"Parth?" Randhir said out loud, completely focused on his friend.

Sanyukta turned to the Pandit quickly and said in a voice barely above a whisper, "Sanyukta Agarwal..." and finished saying her Gotram and Astrological Sign.

Luckily for her, Parth's coughs covered her voice.

"R - Randhir," Parth said in between coughs, and Vidhushi was saying Parth's name loudly too, as if she were freaking out.

"Parth... what happened to you?!" she screamed.

The pandit glanced up at them, looking confused, but went back to focusing on the ceremony.

He repeated her name, "Sanyukta" out loud but simultaneously Parth said out loud "Sanu needs your attention not me," blocking the pandit's voice.

Randhir tuned back into the procession in time to hear the gotram and nakshatra being announced, which matched Sanyukta's.

Why was everything about this girl so damn similar to Sanyukta?

The pandit continued with the wedding procession and both Randhir and Sanyukta zoned out again, lost in their own world, until it was time for the seven rounds around the fire.

"These seven rounds are a promise that you're making, saying that the both of you will travel through the seven planes of consciousness together as companions, you will be with each other through thick and thin, despite each other's imperfections, to become one and see the world as a single unit," the pandit explained.

Randhir wondered once more... did he really want to become one with this girl? What about Sanyukta?

"Pandit... I don't think I want to do this," he stammered, causing Sanyukta to widen her eyes from underneath her veil.
