Anushka Sharma will now have actor-producer when we mention about her henceforth. While she is ecstatic that her debut film as producer NH10 is up for release, she is equally excited about her upcoming projects which include Zoya Akhtar's Dil Dhadakne Do. She plays a singer and dancer in the film and co-incidentally, her next film, Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet sees her playing a jazz singer as well.
Talking about it her item number in the film, she says, " I have done an item number in Dil Dhadakne Do but I wouldn't call it an item number exactly because I play a singer and a dancer in the film. Plus it's Zoya, so it has been done with the right sensibilities. It was fun, its new and its Lindi Hop and Charslton - dance forms which I trained a lot for."Since she plays a singer in two of her films, we ask her if singing is something that interests her, considering so many actresses have sung for their movies. "There is also a music video that I shot for NH10 where I am singing in a rock band. But I don't think I would cut an album. Although, if someone makes me sing for a film, I would definitely do it. If I sing for a movie, it would only happen if I were playing a singer," she says.
For someone who has been written about for her personal life quite incessantly in the past couple of months, Anushka is pretty comfortable when we mention a certain Virat Kohli. Almost immediately, she says, "I never spoke about anything and I will never speak about anything. I have just not denied being in a relationship with Virat because, well, that is something I wouldn't do. I am in a relationship with him and I have respect for my relationship. The only reason I don't talk about it is because we don't know where to draw the boundary. If someone comes out in the open and tells you that yes I am in a relationship and if you are going to constantly just keep asking questions, it's like my personal space isn't being respected. It is pretty clear in my head about what I do and don't do. The reason I don't talk about it is because it takes away from my work. People don't take people's work seriously." Ask her if she will be going to Australia to cheer for Team India and she is quick to add, "I doubt it. But if I go you will see me there."
