Alia bhatt opposite Salman in Shuddhi?

It's been a while since any news emerged from the Shuddhi' camp but the latest BizAsia has heard is that Alia Bhatt is looking favourite to bag the lead role opposite Salman Khan.

According to Bollywood Helpline, Karan Johar is quite keen for his Student Of The Year' actress Bhatt to star in the film. After all, Johar is seen as Bhatt's mentor and its unlikely she would refuse him. However, there is nothing concrete from the Dharma Productions official on this. Only time will tell.

Shuddhi', initially was set to star Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan before they both walked out. Rumours were doing the rounds of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone being lined-up to star in the film until Johar took to Twitter to announce Salman as his hero of the film.
