Lavanya burst into laughter when NK ordered for the 4th cup of Tea. She can't believe the reason behind his nervousness was the few off-screen clippings from the movie "Ye Kahani Pyar ki "which she is planning to include in the show, Parde ke Piche. As an MD of an unbiased communication channel, challenges was not new to him, he has a knack to handle the issues unperturbedly and this seems to be relatively a trivial issue.
C media, a daring venture of Narendra Kamath aka NK, is not new to the media industry as his family owns one of the leading Malayalam newspaper and a channel. The channel C aims at the unbiased exposure of Crime, corruption and cheating, within 2 years they emerged as one of the reputed channels in India. The two year journey was full of challenges for those who associated with C channel. Sach ka samna karna kabhi asan kam nahi he, but they thoroughly enjoys the dare game.
Lavanya, is the best friend and the director of operations and the program director cum anchor of the top TRP show Parde ke piche .Moreover her brother owns 35% share of C channel. They met 9 years ago, NK was Lavanya's senior at University of California and the institution witnessed different stages of their relationship, from the initial mutual annoyance to the blooming friendship.
NK knows the potential risk in today's Parde ke piche segment, but he is well aware that arguing with Lavanya Rathore is useless; La will never encourage the interference in creative liberty. He doesn't have any qualms in exposing truth, but what La is going to show is half truth and half imagination. Apparently she believes that film world is like a myth, the maza is in imagining the story from a clip.
Payal Bitiya , change the channel ,Wo Parde ke piche show is at 7.30 and in the promos they indicated some revelation from "Ye Kahani Pyar ki " and that ungrateful daughter of your papa, Khushi left without giving details . I am saying this again; she is not as naive as she seems to be, whined Garima.
Amma , I can't understand you, last week you were complaining that the lack of rumor around Khushi is not good for her bollywood career and now you are irritated of some baseless gossip and you know it is always good to reach into conclusion after listening to the whole story? As you said she is not really nave, which is why I ask you to show some affection to her, so that she will find some way for my entry in films or else she have money and fame now , she will move on to some other place with papa and he will choose his adopted daughter over us. By the time Payal finished her lecture Garima's full focus was in PKP.
Garima Biswas always loved the glitters of cine world becoming a movie star was her dream, not that she have a passion of acting but she was too tempted of the luxurious life of movie star, the dream remained to be a dream. She inculcated it to her daughter Payal, but from her experience, she knows that Payal cannot be an actress easily. She neither had the exceptional looks nor the talent,
Few minutes from Parde Ke piche Program
Lavanya : It's been two weeks after your book release, but it is still the topic of debate in almost all leading channels. Who is your support system in this daring attempt?
I am glad that after playing in numerous harmless characters, finally I managed to grab the eyeballs of the few. When I shared my decision to write a book based on my experience in the film industry honestly, all were against it. They were like if you want to publish an autobiography, do it,but sab kuch jaise hua waise likne ki koi zarurathi nahi he. But I wrote it and published it because I felt like doing the right thing. I didn't aim to tarnish others image, but I always wish to show the actual color of the glittering world. Hina replied with a smile.
Your book My Encounters resulted in the sleepless night of many, how does it affected your life ? Lavanaya was ready with her next question.
Lavanya, I think I had enough fun with a book release, Hina chuckled, so I cannot reveal the exact impact of the revelation in my life, it will lead to another hullabaloo. Mmm few threat calls, film contract cancellation and more importantly, I was able to identify my true well wishers.
Her posture made it clear that it is time to deviate the topic.
Hinaji, you worked with Rathore brothers in "Ye Kahani Pyar ki ", 35 years ago you debuted in Asok Raizada's film, father of Arnav Rathore and Akash Rathore, how different was your working experience? Lavanya hoped for a few more surprises from Hina.
The actress took few seconds to answer. Lavanya Rathore I guess I have already mentioned my unpleasant experience with your father, I am glad to say that your brothers, although they have lots of physical similarities with Asok, from my experience their overall personality is far better than Asok.
Hina ji, this is an off-screen clipping from YKPK sets, Rumor is that Khushi Varma was not happy with an upcoming scene,and she shared her discomfort with the director , Akash was willing to make the changes as per Khushi's request cause before signing the film she made it clear that she is not willing to do a steamy scene ,however Arnav was angry with Khushi's demand . He rudely told her that they cannot change the script for the convenience of a newbie who is pretending to be a good girl. He also accused her as one among many who is willing to sleep with the influential personalities in film industry to get roles.
From what I saw from the video I believe, Arnav Rathore was too rude to Khushi Varma. Wasn't it the perfect example of male dominance in the film industry, which you fearlessly pointed out in your book? I am a bit surprised that you speak high of Arnav even after witnessing this incident.
To be frank Lavanya, I was not very pleased with the Impolite behavior of Arnav, but that is Arnav for you , short tempered and passionate. The confrontation between Arnav and Khushi varma was an upshot of misunderstanding. I cannot say more about the issue as it is not my story to explain.
Before concluding this interview I would like to ask one last question. You were very courageous and unapologetic personality from the very beginning; do you have a counterpart among the younger generation?
Khushi Varma, she is more spirited than me, Saying no to a role offered by a big banner is not an easy decision in her early stage of BW career. But she is assertive enough to disagree if she feels that her decision will affect the morality she follows. We could see adoration in Hina's eyes when she described about her favorite person.
So viewers that was Hina Khan, the poise and elegant lady debuted at a tender age, once every man's dream girl, now an inevitable part of family movies, mostly as the mother of female lead or male lead.
