There were reports suggesting that Priyanka Chopra's maiden production venture Madamji' has been shelved due to similarities with Mallika Sherawat's Dirty Politics'. However, co-producer Ram Mirchandani has now rubbished those reports and said that Priyanka will shoot for the movie in May or June.
He added that they are hoping to release by the end of this year or early next year.
"It's nonsense. Everyone is assuming that the film is stalled because Priyanka will be away to the US for about two and a half months for her TV show. But she will be back in April and we will start shooting for the film in May or June. The film will be shot over a 55 day schedule. In fact, we hope to release it by the end of the year or latest early next year," Indian Express quoted Mirchandani as saying.
He even denied that there are any similarities between Madamji' and the Mallika Sherawat-starrer saying that the latter is a true story, while their movie is a fictional story about an item girl's foray into politics.
Madamji' will be directed by Madhur Bhandarkar.
