Hi, Everyone

Thanks for the welcome. I've decided to put together some ideas for making this forum more interesting. To that end, here are some things that I propose:

Have put together a set of rules for this forum, so that during major tournaments such as the World Cup, people know where to rein it in
In order to make things more interesting for fans of different teams, we've decided to start the idea of Fan Clubs - for cricket initially, w/ the potential of expanding it into other sports. Note that this is for fans of various nations - India, Sri Lanka, Australia, South Africa, et al. We'll also allow that for the various IPL teams, such as CSK, MI, KKR, RR, et al.

However, note that this does not allow for ATs of individual sportsmen, such as Dhoni, Kohli, Messi, et al. That should remain in CFCs
Only teams/nations that have volunteers to run an FC will have an FC
If you wish to be an admin for any FC, post it here, and I'll assign it accordingly. Ideally, we should have 2 admins for any FC
Note that usual forum rules will apply to them, and one is only supposed to use them for celebrating the team in question, not bashing other teams

If you participate in any online tournaments such as Fantasy Cricket, we can have threads dedicated to that. Or we could have prediction games during the world cup (not just winner/loser, but also things like who'll take most runs, most wickets, most catches, et al). Feel free to suggest any ideas

The Best option to make the forum more popular is Fantasy Cricket. 😃

World cup is the best time to start.

ICC has its own Fantasy cricket at https://fantasy.icc-cricket.com/

We can create a league for IF members there ask people to join and compete between IF members to see who wins. 😊

Second we could have a Prediction contest for every match alone and one for the the whole tournament. If people are ready i will make a thread in few days regarding them.

We can also have a video centre or a video thread dedicated only to videos where people can post thier fav videos and also it can act as a helpdesk if anybody wants to see a particular video.

A good source for discussion regading sports is articles by various experts and their views.

Video center above is a good idea: we could post YouTube clips of matches. It would be preferable if official sources are used, so that the clips in question don't get deleted later by YouTube for copyright violations.

Prediction contest sounds good as well. As far as Fantasy cricket goes, we could either use the ICC one or the one on ESPNCricinfo

We can surely post that but official sources dont post clips on youtube. Its generally uploaded by others and there is no guarantee that it will be deleted or not. Star sports have thier own website where they post clips . Recent videos will be deleted due to copyright rules getting more strict but surely we can post old classic videos gathered from other video sites if people want to watch it.

There is a willow TV channel too but that does not work outside US and needs proxy to watch outisde US.

The prediction idea was good. It will be very interesting for this World Cup.

Todi publicity ki bi jarurat hai kafi logo ko pata bi nahi hai IF pe sports forum hai

2nd world cup se related koi game thread bi start kar sakate hai

3rd prediction /interesting league ho

ye idea bi acha hai ki har team ki ek AT ho india ,aus,lanka etc /ya ek common thread jo bana hua hai we all talk about cricket/wc

i suggest that a thread should be made for daily updates for sports news.
then we should have a seperate thread for events of coming series.
we can have a article section were old and new members of forum can post .
each old forum member should start some publicity about the forum .
we can a special thread for unknown facts from the sports world.
we can have a thread which contains the rules of each game as i saw many people do not know about the rules .
for big tounaments fantasy league .

Hey!

Like Adi said we should have a daily updates thread and also I have noticed one thing in this forum that most of the times we have a separate discussion thread only when India is playing.IMO We should have a match discussion thread whenever there is any international match between any two teams(Not just India VS Others).

P.S.-I would love to be the Admin of Australian Cricket Team's FC!😆

For the world cup, we'll start it. For other international tournaments, I'm willing to do that if there is interest in such competitions. Like say Ashes, or Aus-NZ, or Aus-SA, et al.

Noted you down for Australian FC. You can start it, and would have to allow a co-admin if anyone volunteers

Any daily updates - we'd need someone willing to maintain it, and to keep such a person motivated, there would have to be some minimal interest in that. I don't want it to be something that's started, and then there's no interest in the thing, making it peter off.

Also, which sports do we wanna cover? Cricket, soccer, tennis, any others? I know we have a Super Bowl thread running, but is there much interest here in the NFL, AFC, NBA, MLB, et al?
