A Night Out
Tara's one month leave was getting over the next day, so she thought to ask Dadaji and Mrityunjay about joining college again.
After dinner when Mrityunjay and Dadaji were sitting in the hall discussing some project.
She entered the hall and said, "I want to ask both of you a question if you are free?"
"Tell us Bahu, we are always free to listen to you."
"Tomorrow my college leave is ending. So I want to know can I rejoin my job? Only if you don't have a problem."
"I don't have any problem Bahu. Ask him if he has any."
Mrityunjay was pretending to be busy in studying a file but his full attention was on the conversation when Dadaji rolled the decision ball in his court. He replied, "As you wish Tara. I don't have any problem."
"Ok, then I am joining."
Dadaji clapped at her decision.

Next morning, Tara was ready for college and was about to leave when Mrityunjay asked her, "How are you going?"
After thinking for a while, Tara replied, "I will take an auto."
"Come with me. Your college is on my way to the office. And in the afternoon Joseph will come and pick you."
"Ok," she replied.
The car stopped at the entrance of the college.
"Joseph, come after 2 pm."
Saying this, Tara got down from the car. She was closing the car door when Mrityunjay said, "All the best Tara."
She smiled and said, "Thank you."
At the college, Yug, Adi, Bunty, Vasu, Meethi and Nandu were happy to see their teacher back. Tara was happy too. In the afternoon, Joseph reached the college after 2 pm.
"Joseph, you are so punctual."
"Ma'am, actually sir was quite worried that I should reach on time. He reminded me nearly five times after reaching office."
She smiled and sat in the car.
After reaching home and going to her room, Tara switched on the radio and listened to the show "Dil se dil tak" while doing her college work. Evening time, as usual, she was at the stable practising horse riding and Mrityunjay was guiding her. At night, they dinned and slept.
*****
Every day Mrityunjay and Tara would leave home together. Tara used to come home by 3 pm and after coming home did her college work, evening time horse riding and at night after dinner sleep. This became their routine.
After Aradhana's death, Mrityunjay again started to do extra work on the weekends. Tara spent most of her time with Dadaji on the weekends. Dadaji, seeing Mrityunjay returning to his old routine, called him to his room.
"What happened Dadaji?"
"Nothing."
"Then why did you call me all of a sudden?"
"You know now you are married, and you have responsibilities to be fulfilled."
"I am not able to understand what you want to say Dadaji."
"You will never understand. I am saying you are a husband too. You need to take your wife out of this house, spend some time with her. On weekends also you don't have time for her."
Mrityunjay was quietly listening to him.
Dadaji continued, "I hope now you understand what I mean."
Mrityunjay nodded his head in yes.
Mrityunjay kept thinking where to take Tara. After coming home on Saturday evening and after much thinking, he asked Tara, "Are you free?"
"Yes," Tara replied in a confused tone.
"Can we go out tonight?"
"Yes," she replied chuckling.
After 7 pm they left home and Mrityunjay took her to a hotel.
At the hotel, Tara was not comfortable. She found every eye in the hotel was on her and it was obvious as everyone wanted to know who was the woman Mr. Mrityunjay Singh Shekhawat was with.
His marriage was a secret and only some of his close people knew about his marriage.
Seeing Tara uncomfortable, they left the hotel immediately after dinner.
They were returning when Tara suddenly asked Joseph to stop the car. She got down and asked Mrityunjay to get down as well. She took him to the beach and sat there.
Mrityunjay sat next to her on the beach.
The cool breeze of the ocean, the gushing sound of its tides was refreshing for her.
She was looking at the sea lovingly.
Mrityunjay was also finding this environment soothing.
They were quietly sitting, and watching the waves coming and going along with the twinkling of the stars.
Mrityunjay was secretly gazing at Tara from the corner of his eyes.
Tara saw a corn stall. She went there and bought two roasted corns for themselves. They enjoyed eating them. The corn stall's radio was playing a song.
~Bade achhe lagte hai
Kyaa ????
Yeh dharti, yeh nadiyaa, yeh raina aur ?
Aur tum
O o o Majhi re
Jaiyo piya ke desh
Hum tum kitne paas hai
Kitne door hain chand sitare
Sach poochho to maan ko jhoote lagte hain yeh saare
Magar sacche lagte hai
Yeh dharti yeh nadiyaa, yeh rainaa aur ?
Aur tum mm mmm~
They walked on the beach talking about the sea, the breeze and many other random things. After that night, on every weekend they came to the beach to spend their evening.
