Vikramaditya Motwane chooses Sidharth Malhotra over Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma's special music video for Bombay Velvet was to be shot by Vikramaditya Motwane. However, we hear it was Vikas Bahl who ended up shooting the music video for Anurag Kashyap's much-waited directorial venture. Apparently, the Lootera director got tied up with the pre-production work of his own film Bhavesh Joshi starring Sidharth Malhotra and therefore couldn't keep his commitment. So Bahl, who has co-produced Bombay Velvet with RK and Anurag, stepped in to direct the special music video which was shot last week.

According to sources, Vikram wants to start his film Bhavesh Joshi which was delayed by two months as his hero Sidharth was busy with the shoot of Brothers. He has got Sidharth's dates for March and wanted to be completely ready with his pre-production work before that.

Ranbir's hands are already full for quite some time now. So obviously...I just Sid lives up to the expectations.

Not heard anything about the actress. This is the first thing I've read about the film after a long time.

Talk about a misleading title.

He was busy with work on a movie with Sid and couldn't direct the music video for BV. It has nothing to do with picking one over the other.

Last I heard Sonakshi was signed as the female lead opposite Sid. But that was a while ago and I don't see her name associated with this project at all lately. I don't know who's the lead. I know Kriti Sanon's name was being thrown around at one point too.

It's not about choosing Sidharth over Ranbir for the role of Bhavesh Joshi.

Vikramaditya Motwane was meant to direct a song for Bombay Velvet. However, he his busy working on pre-production work for Bhavesh Joshi. Hence, he chose Sidharth over Ranbir. 😆

They have been no actress speculations for a long time. I wonder if it's a big role for the girl.

Sonakshi's going to start that A. R. Murugadoss film, so don't think she is doing it. Kriti is doing Farzi, but don't know when that is starting and Singh is Bling is rumoured to be shelved.

PC Jr. has free time these days...

I don't know what I had read or why but I was under the impression that the movie has been shelved. Then at the OK Life awards red carpet Sid said that Brothers is done and he'll start Bhavan Joshi next.

He should've gone with RK! And Sanon? Oh man, don't think she can act...

I guess he had to give preference to Brothers. It's KJo afterall.
