Chapter Eighteen

As soon as Randhir fell back and his arms tightly wrapped around her waist, equally excited at the prospect of being a father, Sanyukta lightly brushed her fingers against his cheek.

Pulling apart for air, he searched her eyes for something. He didn't even know what he was looking for, but he knew that what he was searching for might be there.

"You're married Sanyukta," Randhir finally said.

The biggest reason he told her to go to Parth was because of the guilt she would feel if she didn't... and now that she came to him, as a married woman (married to someone else), the guilt that she would feel would only multiply.

"Today is my wedding day," she whispered and kissed him again, this time less forcefully, this time softly with intimacy.

He was taken aback. He gently pulled away as he searched her eyes again, this time finding what he was looking for... confidence, happiness.

"You don't feel bad?" he asked her quietly, unsure of how he felt about the situation himself.

Randhir knew that he wouldn't feel bad for being close to Sanyukta... ever. It didn't matter to him in what form she came to him as: whether she approached him as his girlfriend, his enemy, his best friend, or even someone else's wife, he wouldn't ever stop loving her.

Looking straight into his eyes she shook her head.

"Why should I feel bad to kiss someone I love? It would be wrong to hold myself back," she whispered before pressing her lips against his again.

His hands cupped her cheeks as he pulled her face back.

"You're marrying Parth today Sanyukta," Randhir told her again.

"I know," she whispered and pressed her lips against his again, a smile forming on the corners of her mouth.

"I don't know what you're so happy about," Randhir pressed on, pulling back again, "Are you happy about your pregnancy, about kissing me, or about marrying Parth... or any combination of the three?"

"I'm just happy Randhir, let me live in it," she said stubbornly and grabbed his hands from her cheek and held them so tightly that he wouldn't be able to move it before she kissed his lips again. This time Randhir wasn't in a position to pull away, so he gave in and responded to her kiss as she adjusted her body and sat on his lap.

After she was satisfied, Sanyukta pulled away and kissed his cheek before resting her head on his shoulder and lacing the fingers of one of her hands with his, her other hand sliding around the back of his shoulders.

"What time is your wedding?" he asked her.

"In the evening," she whispered. "But it doesn't matter now Randhir... I'm pregnant."

"What do you mean it doesn't matter?" Randhir asked her, his eyebrow raised. "You still have to marry Parth, don't you?"

"I mean that I know for sure that this wedding won't happen," Sanyukta told him with a bright smile.

"Huh?" Randhir asked, completely confused.

"I have a really good feeling," Sanyukta said, smiling even more widely.

"Are you planning on cancelling it Sanyukta?" Randhir asked her, so confused.

"Hmm... maybe, I haven't decided yet, but I know that this wedding won't happen," she said happily.

"You'll be able to deal with the guilt?" he asked her, gobsmacked.

"What guilt?" Sanyukta said happily. "It's not even going to me who'll be the reason of this wedding not happening."

Then she got up and straightened her clothes. He stood up too, wondering what was going through her mind.

She kissed his cheek again and hugged him tightly.

"See you soon," she whispered flirtatiously.

"What's gotten into you?" Randhir asked.

She winked at him before opening the door and disappearing, leaving Randhir amazed. She wasn't like this the last time he met her... she was absolutely certain about marrying Parth. Now it seemed like the guilt left her. Was this what pregnancy did to women? And how could she be so certain that something else would stop her wedding with Parth?

Randhir started to pace back and forth in his living room, trying to figure out what Sanyukta was up to. Ever since FITE, she had been very mischievous and she had come up with crazy tactics to get herself out of trouble... he hoped that she didn't do something that would put her into more trouble.

The doorbell rang and Randhir walked up to the door and unlocked it. It was Sanyukta.

"Tell Vidhushi thanks for me," Sanyukta said before hugging him tightly again. As confused as he was, he inhaled the scent of her hair and it calmed him down, momentarily making him forget what was going on.

Then she let go of him, pecked him on the lips quickly and then disappeared from his sight without another word.

The first thing that popped up in his mind was: that was random.

Then it registered that she mentioned Vidhushi. Why would he thank Vidhushi? What was Vidhushi up to? Why would Sanyukta want to thank her? Sanyukta didn't even like Vidhushi. Was she trying to get Vidhushi into trouble?

"Oh my goodness," he said out loud with a loud sigh. "She already doesn't like her, so she might not even care if Vidhushi looks bad for spoiling her wedding. Maybe she is instigating her to do something."

Randhir figured that he was done with trying to figure it out. He would ask Vidhushi directly what was happening. He pulled out his phone and dialled Vidhushi's number. It didn't even ring - a voice said that the number had been cancelled.

Great... Vidhushi changed her number.

He decided to drive to where she lived (where he had previously lived).

Once there, he knocked on the door. There was no answer. Of course. It was just his lucky day.

He couldn't let Vidhushi get in trouble. It was true that he loved Sanyukta, but there was a point in his life where Vidhushi helped him and was there for him. He couldn't let anything bad happen to her, and he did care about her a lot, even if he never truly admitted it to her.

Randhir dialled Sanyukta's number. It went straight to voicemail.

"Sanyukta, what are you upto? Don't get anyone in trouble... I mean it Sanyukta, don't get Vidhushi into any trouble," Randhir said into his phone. Then he hung up and sighed.

He didn't know what to do.

Glancing down at his watch, he noticed that it was 3 PM. Sanyukta had said her wedding was going to take place in the evening. She didn't give him an exact time, but he knew that he had to find her. He couldn't let things go out of hand.

"That's it... I didn't want to do this, but I know I have to, and I can't avoid it," Randhir said out loud to himself.

Randhir decided that he was going to attend Sanyukta's wedding with Parth, even if he wasn't invited. He was going to make sure that her wedding with Parth would happen, no matter what it took.

Sorry it took so long! I was out of the country for a while with no laptop. The updates will now be quicker. Also, while you wait for this, I'm going to write a story with shorter chapters so I can update almost daily if you want something to read frequently. :) I'll send everyone on my buddy list a PM once that happens.

Sanyukta's behaviour is mysterious. ...what she gonna do?? But what i am happy about is she is surely gonna cancel the marriage... but randhir -_- -_- acting as dumb again -_-
