Sanjit suffers fracture of ribs

What happens when someone punches you in your rib cage? You have broken ribs! And that's exactly the state of Thodi Si Zameen, Thoda Sa Aasman's actor Sanjit Bedi.
He was punched in his rib cage while enacting a fight scene. "One of the actors hit me hard in my stomach. I fell on the ground and also hurt my back," says Sanjit who is now left with not just broken ribs but also a bad back. "I always had a back problem and after that fall, it's become worse," he says.
But he didn't realise that it was a fracture.

"I thought it was just a bruise and continued working till one day I could bear the pain no more. My wife insisted that I visit a doctor and that's when I realised I had a fracture," he says.
The actor is now recuperating at home and his wife fashion designer Rekha Bhatia is keeping a close watch on him.

"She doesn't allow me to talk too much or laugh as I develop breathing problem," says the actor.
But that doesn't stop the actor from showing his humourous side. "Talk about getting a break! And I have got one now - my broken ribs," he says and bursts out laughing, only to remind himself that he shouldn't be caught laughing by his wife.
"TV actors can't get a long break. I just have three days to rest after which I will begin shooting," he says.

But won't work take a toll on his health? "It's much easier now working with Smriti Iraani than it was working with earlier production houses. She, being an actor, can understand our problems."
So in his spare time does he watch any of the K serials? "No way," he says.

"I get pampered by all and eat a lot of junk food and watch movies. I have been reading a lot of books too. That's the best part of having a fracture," he laughs, "otherwise it's only pain."
