| Sanjivani sequel on Star One Dill Mill Gayye, the sequel to Sanjivani: A Medical Boon, is scheduled to start from August 20 on Star One, every Monday at 8.30 pm. The story revolves around five interns and their experiences in the hospital Sanjivani. Though the name of the hospital remains unchanged, there is hardly any similarity between the old Sanjivani and its sequel according to Karan Singh, who is playing the role of Dr. Armaan Malik in the serial. "The new serial has nothing to do with Sanjivani. The only similarity is that the name of the hospital is the same, and Dr. Shashank (Monish Behl) is the only character who figures in both the serials. He is playing dean of the hospital. Five of us are going to join this hospital as interns," says Karan. "My character is that of a good looking guy who enjoys flirting with people. He is a typical spoilt rich brat. His father is also a well-known doctor. However, when it comes to work, he is very serious. He wants to become the best doctor in Sanjivani. Centering on the five of us, the story unfolds how we enter the hospital, the situations we face, and our friendship." Karan adds, "Armaan does not like Ridhima, and that's why he always tries to upset her. His friendship with Sapna and Atul is casual. The only close friendship he shares is with Anjali. There surely runs a love story in the serial, which I do not want to disclose right now. The stories and the patients are quite different from those of the old serial. I have not seen the old serial, but the sequel is fresh for sure." The old Sanjivani ended with the reconciliation of Rahul and Simran, with Rahul's family accepting Simran and her goals. It was the love story of Rahul and Simran in the atmosphere of the Sanjivani hospital. The older show started with the lives of four doctors. Although Karan says otherwise, his character has many similarities with Rahul's from the first season. Friday, August 10, 2007 |
