Vineet Raina, aka Akshay Thakral of Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai, considers himself to be a great prankster. Indeed, he is quite well-known for playing pranks on the sets of Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai, Maayka , and Sanyasi.
When we asked the acknowledged prankster about his habit of playing pranks on others, he confided, "Well, it's my childhood habit to play pranks. For me, it's a source of recreation. I entertain people with my pranks, of which I have a great repertoire. Frankly speaking, no co-actor is spared, nor even the spot boys. When I was in college in Jammu , we had a hangout where we used to play pranks on everyone. We didn't even spare our professors. Thus, I can't outgrow this old habit of mine."

We asked Vineet's co-actors from both the serials— Maayka and Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai—about his pranks. Rati Pandey of Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai said, "Given our hectic schedule of work, Vineet is a source of entertainment for us. He is adept at cracking jokes, which are really funny. Once when I came rather late on the sets, Vineet called from an unknown number saying that the shooting unit had shifted to a new location. Working on this information when I didn't go to the actual shooting location, my director was really angry with me. Later, I came to know that it was all done by the mischievous Vineet. When I was in school, I also used to play a lot of pranks on my friends, and in this sense I am no different from Vineet. However, as an actor, he is very co-operative."
When we spoke to Vivan Bathena (Shabd, Maayka) about Vineet and his jokes, he said, "We are good friends. There is no denying that he is a big prankster who can also do excellent mimicry, be it Amitabh Bachchan or Neha Bamb."
"He is a great source of masti (fun) on the sets. For a lark, he once put water in my tea, which was really bad," revealed Shilpa Shinde (Rajji, Maayka).
