Part 18
Arnav entered his Mansion, all wet. Running his fingers in his dense hair, he tried to get rid of some water, walking towards his room. He had promised Khushi to be home by 5 and here he was again late. But this time it was not his fault. It was raining outside and just few blocks away, his car broke. But without waiting for other car, he preferred running all the way to home and in the process getting all drench in the rain.
Entering the room, he looked at the recliner, where she lay, her eyes close. Discarding the drenched coat, he threw it on the floor and went near her. Leaning over her, he kissed her slightly parted lips.
Khushi's eyes jerked opened instantly to collide with his intense one.
"Hi," Arnav smiled.
"You are late." Khushi pursed her lips.
"You are right. " Arnav stood straight. "But I had not called your Devi Maiya, asking her for the rain, neither did I tell my car to break. " Arnav said, as he discarded his waist coat and again threw on the floor and started unbuttoning his shirt.
"What is this?" Khushi stood off the recliner and collected his clothes from the floor. "Can't you keep the clothes in the basket? No manners at all? Take your clothes and go inside the bathroom, shower and change in new clothes. You will catch cold. And for God sake, go, don't spoil the floor." Khushi chided loudly.
Arnav smirked as she taught him manners'. Discarding his shirt, he again threw it on the floor.
Khushi huffed, her hands on her hip. "Arnav ji! Don't do this." Bending, she picked his shirt.
Arnav walked towards her and pulled her in his arms.
"You don't have to do this, servants will come and do."
Khushi closed her eyes, shaking her head. Coming out of his arms, she walked towards the bathroom and pushed the door open.
"Chhote se kaam ke liye naukar? All you have too do is, discard your clothes, push the door of your bathroom open and drop the clothes in the basket" she dropped his clothes in the basket. "Understood?" She arched an eyebrow at him.
Arnav scratched the back of his head and nodded. "Ya.." he replied nonchalantly.
"You have not. I can see that. But anyways, go and change into fresh clothes, you will catch cold" She opened his wardrobe and handed him fresh clothes.
Arnav took the clothes from her hand, and dropping a kiss on her cheek, he entered the bathroom.
Arnav came out of the bathroom to see Khushi again sitting on his recliner, but this time with his guitar. He had promised her to teach her singing, and he knew she is too excited for the same.
Khushi looked up to see him in his casual wear, standing in front of her.
"All ready?" Arnav asked.
Khushi gave him her beautiful smile, melting something inside his chest like always. In the white salwaar kameez, she looked like a white fairy. Arnav took her hand and pulled her up. Taking the guitar from her hand , he kept it on the recliner.
"Arnav ji.." Khushi tried to take the guitar again, but he stopped her.
"You want to learn singing too right? So first lets start with that" he took her towards the bed. Siting on the bed, he made her sit between his leg. Circling her waist with his arms, he pulled her close to his chest and rested his chin on her shoulder. "Shall we start? You did your lessons?" Arnav asked, nuzzling her neck.
Khushi pulled little back and turned her head to look at him.
"Can we just concentrate only on your singing lessons? And not other things?" Khushi narrowed her eyes at him.
Arnav again pulled her back. "Yes, we can .. start now.."
"You are already late .. I have to reach home by 9 and you ..." Khushi stopped as his finger rested on her lips. She turned back again to look at him.
Arnav stared in her beautiful eyes, eyes which he can spent his whole life just staring in. "Hmmm...Hmmm..." he started , his warm lips on the tender flesh of her neck .

"Aisi aankhen nahi dekhi ...
Aisi ankhen nahin dekhi"
(I have never seen such eyes...
I have never seen such eyes)
His lips moved to her cheek, making her close her eyes to imprint his warm, loving touch.
"Aisa kajal nahin dekha
Aisa jalwa nahin dekha
Aisa chehara nahin dekha"
(I have never seen such collyrium
I have never seen such magnificence
I have never seen such a face)
"Jab yeh daman ki hawa de... aag jungle men laga de
Jab yeh saharaon men jae... ret men phul khilae"
(When her dupatta gives air , jungle sets on fire
When it goes in the desert , it blossoms flowers in the sand)
"Hmmm...Hmmm..." Arnav opened his eyes after worshiping her with his words. Making her sit on his lap, he made her face him and looked in her eyes. "Your turn ... you have done your lessons, haven't you?" Arnav asked.
Khushi nodded her head. Circling her hand around his neck, she rested her head on his shoulder.
"Aisi duniya nahin dekhi"
Khushi started, and lifted her head to look at him. She asked him with her eyes if she going OK.
Arnav gestured her to continue.
She again rested her head on his shoulder and started.
"Aisi duniya nahin dekhi
Aisa manzar nahin dekha
Aisa alam nahin dekha
Aisa dilbar nahin dekha"
(I have never seen such a world
I have never seen such a sight
I have never seen such a beauty
I have never seen such a sweetheart)
She lifted her eyes to look at him, his eyes smiling at her, appreciating her effort.
Arnav took her hand in his, and dropped a loving kiss on her wrist.
"Uske kangan ka khanakna...Jaise bulbul ka chahakna"
Uski pazeb ki chham-chham...Jaise barsat ka mausam"
(The sound of her bangles is like a song of nightiangle
The sound of her anklet is like rainy weather)
His hand's moved to her payal, his two fingers tinkling her feet, making her giggle.
"Hmm...Hmmm..."
Khushi kissed his chin and stood off his lap and ran towards the poolside, rain drenching her in no time.
Arnav followed her soon. He stood near the door and looked at her as she widened her arms to welcome the rain.
"Aisa sawan nahin dekh.
Aisi barish nahin dekhi
Aisi rim-jhim nahin dekhi.
Aisi khwahish nahin dekhi"
(I have never seen such a monsoon
I have never seen such a rain
I have never seen such a drizzle
I have never seen such desire)
Khushi opened her closed eyes to look at her hand, which now was in his hand. And without a warning, he pulled her to his chest. Resting his palm on her hips, he pulled her more close and moved with her.
"Uski bebak si baten...Jaise sardi ki ho raten
Uff yeh tanhai yeh masti...Jaise tufan men kashti"
(Her innocent talks are like night of winter
This loneliness and joy are like like a boat in storm)
Khushi closed her eyes as his lips came down on hers, soft, warm, tender. Drowning in each other's sweetness, they moved together in a rhythm.
Arnav lifted his head, both of them breathless. Resting his forehead on her, he locked her eyes with his.
"Mithi koyal si hai boli...Jaise geeton ki rangoli
Surkh galon pe pasina... Jaise phagun ka mahina"
(Her speech like that of a merle is like a collage of song
The sweat on her red cheek is like a month of winter)
"Aisi ankhen nahin dekhi"
(I have never seen such eyes)
"Aisa kajal nahin dekha
Aisa jalwa nahin dekha
Aisa chehara nahin dekha"
(I have never seen such collyrium
I have never seen such magnificence
I have never seen such a face)
Arnav's eyes jerked opened. His fingers went to his cheek, few drops wetting his cheek. He inspected his surrounding. He was in the poolside and it was drizzling now. He tried to stand up but a sudden pain shot from his head, making his catch his head and fall back in his chair. And like a strong wave every happening flooded his mind. He immediately stood up from the chair and rushed inside his room.
He staggered back against the glass door of his poolside as he saw her sleeping on the bed. Resting his head back, he swallowed hard. Life was so beautiful, beautiful like a song. Why everything went haywire? Khushi was his, only his. She was happy, happy with him. He was keeping her happy. But then when was he ever granted happiness? He lost her, and now she is here , in front of him , with him, but he can't do anything to take away her pain.
Opening his eyes, he looked at her, looking so small, so fragile, so weak...so...so beautiful. Walking towards the bed, he slipped beside her. Taking her hand in his, he kissed her fingers. And then he saw her opening her eyes, her glassy eyes colliding with his pained one. Swallowing the painful lump, he inched closer and took her in his arms.
"Don't cry ...please ... It just kills me ... I don't like to see you in pain ... I hate it Khushi ... I hate it ... please don't do this to me ...please ..." He pleaded, burying his face in her neck.
"I am sorry ... I know I am only capable of giving pain ... to you, to Rudra , to everyone ... I am sorry..."
Arnav lifted his face and shook his head at her.
"No... you don't , Khushi.."he rested his palm against her face. "Who said that to you? You always give happiness, nothing else... Please ...just be happy , I don't want anything else ... nothing else ..."
"I don't remember what happiness feels like ... I really don't ... Believe me I want to forget Rudra, forget that he entered my life, he married me ... I want to forget that he loved me but I was unable to love him back ... I want to forget every moment where he tried his best to make me feel his love, but all I felt was coldness ... I want to forget that I never gave him a perfect life ... I want to forget that I ruined his life ... I want to forget the every moment I spent with him...because it only reminds me how much unfair I was to him ... He..." small sobs again made their way. "He... tried so hard ... He loved me so much ... But I gave him nothing ... nothing, Arnav ji .. I gave him nothing ..." She cried, wanting to find some relief from this unbearable pain.
"You are not at fault, Khushi ... You are not ... I am ..please stop blaming yourself... Rudra ..." Arnav swallowed the pain. "Rudra loved you ... he was with you because he loved you... your presence was enough for him ... your companionship was enough for him ... Look at me.." He made her look at him. "Had Rudra ever told you that he is suffering, that you are not being fair to him? Did he?"
Khushi shook her head. "But I ..."
"No... let him feel and judge what you gave him ...don't you be the judge here ...He never said that he is not happy with you, did he? "
Khushi shook her head.
"Then he never was. Your presence was enough for him, Khushi. Just like it is for me. Your presence around me is enough for me to survive. Just ..just stop hurting yourself ... You told to Aryan, right? You told him that Rudra use to make you smile, make you laugh, make you happy. He did because that made him happy. He will be happy if you are, he will smile, if you will. Believe me , Khushi. For once believe me.." He desperately tried to make her understand.
Khushi stared in his eyes, not knowing what to believe. She is burning in guilt, guilt of never loving Rudra the way he loved her. Never giving him the only thing she was about to give him. But ...he always wanted her to be happy, smiling, laughing.
Arnav kept his eyes on her face, seeing so many emotions pass on her face. And then to his panic, she closed her eyes, moaning in pain.
"Khushi ..." he sat on the bed.
"Ahhh..." Unbearable pain shot from her lower abdomen, making her gasp for breathe.
"Khushi, what happened?..Di!!! Di!!!!" He shouted for his Di seeing Khushi withering in pain.
"Di!!!!!" Arnav screamed.
Anjlai ran inside the room. Looking at Khushi, she rushed beside her. She touched her saree which was wet.
"Arnav, ask the driver to get the car ready, and move outside, she needs to change her cloth. Fast." Anjali asked as she opened the cupboard and took a saree.
Arnav nodded his head and removed his cell to call the Driver.
Anjali went towards Khushi and made her sit on the bed.
"It's ok, Khushi. Everything is fine. Don't worry ... everything is fine ... " Anjali calmed her as she changed Khushi in a clean cloth. "It's ok ... shhh... Arnav!!!"
"It's paining , Di..."
"I know ..I know, Khushi ... shhh... " she ran her hand in Khushi's hair as she again called for her brother. "Pick her..." Anjali said as soon as Arnav entered to room.
Arnav was beside Khushi in no time and picked her in his arms.
Anjali kept her hold on Khushi's hand as Khushi clutched to her hand for her dear life. "It's ok, Khushi ... don't worry ... Everything will be fine ..." Anjali soothed her, keeping her pace with her brother's long strides.
Reaching the car, Arnav sat inside with Khushi, and as soon as his Di slipped beside him, he asked the driver to take to the hospital.
