Geet:" Mmmaan...I mean..."

Maan:" Oh God! It came out all wrong. I don't mean in that sense. I just want you to stay behind tonight here at the penthouse so we can talk. Just talk. And then we can you know just go to separate rooms and sleep... Oh leave it! Let me just.."

Geet cut him off by placing her fingers to his lips and said softly," It's okay Maan. I understand. And I don't feel bad."

Maan:" So will you?"

Geet:" Will I what?"

Maan:" Will you stay behind?"

Geet:" Okay. But just this once."

Maan:" You won't regret. Trust me."

Geet:" I trust you."

Maan smiled as Geet agreed to his idea. Lately he had been really busy with the new deal and had got no free time to spend with Geet. Now Geet had agreed so they can spend some quality time with Geet. Plus he had almost been dating Geet for half a year now. Soon Geet would realize that he has been holding on to a deadly secret and he intends to confess to Geet everything before she finds out from some other source.

He must have been lost deep in thought and came out of his reverie with a sligt push from Geet.

Geet:" Where are you lost Maan?"

Maan:" In your eyes."

Geet: "Back to our flirting self are we?"

Maan:" Is that a bad thing Miss Handa?"

Geet blushed with the way Maan was looking at her. Geet wanted to change the subject to take his attention away from her.

Geet:" So since I am staying back Mr. Khurana what should I wear?"

Maan:" Huh!"

Geet:" Arey I can't sleep with this saaree on can I?"

Maan smiled. But he had never planned on asking her to stay back so he to was on a fix.

Maan:" Geet, this... I mean asking you to stay back was kind of unplanned. All I have here in this pent house are few jogging tracks and maybe some spare T-shirts. Do you think you can manage with them?"

Geet nodded. It was not like she had lots of option. Maan got her one of his tracks and T shirt and she left for the room she had stayed when Sid-Meera were in Mumbai. Something about the room spoke of her. It was as if Maan hadn't changed anything from the time she had stayed.

Geet freshened up and washed her face after removing her ornaments. Once she saw the tracks she knew not in a million years would they fit her and they are so very long for her that even after folding them it won't work.

However Maan's T-shirt came upto her knees. They were not exactly very covering but that's the best she could think of and she quit the idea of wearing those ridiculously long tracks.

Geet was feeling extremely shy to go in front of Maan only with his Tshirt on. It was not like she was over-exposing. The Tshirt covered her up decently except for her legs.

Maan on the other hand was thinking what was taking Geet so long. But then he heard a slight sound of the opening of the lock. Maan knew it was Geet opening the door letting him in. He entered with small steps not wanting her to be startled by his sudden presence.

He sucked his breath watching her standing near the bed side table with only his T- shirt on. She was blushing as well. Maan closed his eyes. It took everything in him not to be all cavemen with her. Slowly he reached to the place where she was standing and took her hand. She had tied her hair into a messy bun with a clutcher. Maan's other hand went into her hair and loosened the unruly mane. Her messy hair with closed eyes and blushing cheeks was making her all the more desirable in his eyes.

Maan:" You come in front of me like this and expect me to control myself...haa Geet?"

Geet was almost squirming in her place with his husky voice whispering in her ears.

Geet:" Woh...woh your tracks were too long... I thought it is better not to wear it..."

Maan:" I must say I like this idea. This way I have a great view of those sexy legs..."

Geet:" MAAAN!!"

Maan:" I am sure you look way sexier in my dress than I would ever do."

Geet looked down wanting the ground to open up and swallow her. That obnoxious man was making fun of her when she was already so nervous. She felt his fingers under her chin and looked up to find Maan looking at him intently. Then slowly he came closer. Geet closed her eyes execting him to kiss her.

She felt his lips on her forehead and opened her eyes in surprise. Maan was watching her ever so lovingly. "I love you so much my sweet Geet. Come let's lie down. It had been a long day for both of us."

Geet couldn't help but fall in love with him all over again. She knew about his desires. It was so blatantly displayed earlier but he respected her even more and finding her nervous he let go of his own needs and put her at ease.

Once they were settled on the bed with both of them leaning at the headboard Geet turned to him and said," I love you too Maan."

It felt so natural to tell him the three words. She realized then that she was forever and irrevocably in love with Maan Singh Khurana. She doesn't know when she fell for him so hard. She found him staring at her unblinkingly.

Geet:" What happened Maan?"

Maan:" Did you just say I love you' to me?"

Geet:" Now you are kind of killing the mood Maan."

Maan pulled her closer and took her lips in his. Unlike last of their kisses it was not a fight for dominance. Rather it was the kiss of acceptance. It was soft, sweet and it was like both of them had poured all the love in their heart in that kiss. It was like they both were giving their everything to the other.

Once they felt their breath give out they left. Geet kept her head on Maan's chest and Maan held her firmly providing her the warmth of his love.

Geet:" What is love Maan?"

Maan:" What kind of question is that Geet. Don't you know what love is?"

Geet:" I want to know your thoughts about love."

Maan:" Geet, I don't know how to explain. I mean love is such a great emotion. It inspires everything and everyone. It inspires a musician to make good music, a painter to paint, a writer to write. It inspires a person to becme a better human being. I think love is acceptance. True love is accepting another with all the flaws knowing you have them too and trusting that the other person will accept them too. Love is what you can die for and also what you live for."

Geet smiled. Maan's description of love was so beautiful. It was similar to what she had in her mind.

Maan:" So Geet, what is love according to you?"

Geet:" Love is what makes us live. Love is acceptance, understanding. Love is when you can feel all the extremes of emotions for that one person. Love is when you are left with no choice because you can't choose to fall in love, you just fall in love. Love is everything."

Maan smiled. He knew his mishty was one of a kind and he was glad.

Geet:" So what exactly was on your mind when you asked me to stay back?"

Maan:" I don't know Geet. As I said already, it was unplanned. We have hardly had alone time in the last mnth. I guess I just wanted to spend some quality time with you I guess. Maybe talk with you a bit. But now I am happy I asked you to stay. I finally heard the three magical words from you."

Geet:" Does hearing those three words was that important for you?"

Maan:" You want to hear the truth?"

Geet:" Yes."

Maan:" It felt great to hear those words. But I enjoy the emotion behind the words much more. I had seen your love in your eyes long back. When I kissed you the first time today, I think that was the time you actually said I love you to me even if the words came later. Love is acceptance."

Geet just popped up on her elbow and kissed his forehead.

Maan:" For what?"

Geet:" For being the awesome person that you are."

Maan looked into her eyes and found immense trust in them. It was like he was punched into his guts or something. She trusted him and every minute he was hiding things from her.

Geet:" Where are you lost again Maan?"

Maan took a deep breath.

Maan:" Geet you remember the first time we met?"

Geet:" The marine drive one?"

Maan:" No."

Geet:" Oh, you mean by the lake side when I was still in college?"

Maan shook his head I positive. He kept quiet trying to formulate the right words.

Geet:" What about it Maan? You are freaking me out?"

Maan watched Geet again. Behind her worry he knew she was worn out as well. Nowadays her workload in office have increased considerably especially due to the new deal. Geet and Vickram being the interns under him had to work really hard. Then he was reminded that it was still her birthday. Years after she had actually enjoyed her own birthday. He did not have the heart to ruin it again for her.

Bringing her closer he pressed his lips on her forehead and pressed a kiss lingering for a moment or two longer.

Geet:" Spill it out Maan."

Maan took a deep breath and continued," The girl I found that day was a lot different from the one who is right now in my arms. You see that girl had lost the will to live and this girl faces every challenge head on."

Geet:" It is all due to you Maan. Your love had been my strength all along."

Maan:" Will you promise me something Geet?"

Geet:" What is it Maan?"

Maan:" Promise me that no matter how bad situation is, how hopeless you feel you will never ever give up on living. Promise me Geet that no matter what you will never turn back to the girl I had found on that lake side. That would mean that our relationship, this journey of us would be meaningless."

Geet looked at Maan. He looked terrified. It was like he was afraid of the future or something. Cupping his face with her palm Geet asked," What's wrong Maan? What are you afraid of?"

Maan:" Please Geet."

Geet:" Fine Maan. I promise whatever happens; no matter how hopeless things turn I will never ever turn back to be the girl you met at the lakeside. That would not only insult our journey Maan but also insult the memories of Armaan and I can never do that to any of you."

Maan once again kissed her on her forehead. They kept on talking about different topics till Maan found Geet had succumbed to her sleep. Maan slowly eased his arm out and made her rest on the pillow. He covered her with the sheet and lovingly gazed at her face. "Geet, I wish I could have told you the truth. Trust me Geet, everytime we meet I try but something or other stops me. Sometimes it is either some urgent meeting, or Daadima's health or even your birthday. But soon I will tell you everything. I will then let you decide our fate."

Maan left after switching off the light.
